Ridiculous Bear. Confused walking along hand in hand....for all of a millisecond!

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 30/01/2017 14:54

Have you ever seen Donald Trump holding hands with a man?

And no shaking his hand doesnt count Grin

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 14:58

debbie, the footage clearly shows her walking for several steps with her hand in his.

If you class that as a 'millisecond' then we have a few reality issues going on and there's no point in discussing it further.

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 14:59

I have never followed clips of DT walking anywhere with anyone, so I have no idea Confused

Anyway - light hearted fun talking her brief hand hold with Trump but what about the assurances she managed get from him on NATO. Very important in my view. A real coup.

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 14:59

what else did you see Bear, did they fit in a quick waltz too - maybe even a little smooch?

Inkanta · 30/01/2017 15:01

' but what about the assurances she managed get from him on NATO. Very important in my view. A real coup.'

Exactly! She did brilliant - love her Smile

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 15:01

She got nothing DT can't renage upon.

As for the waltz comment- grow up.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 30/01/2017 15:04

Apparently he has a fear of steps

True fact or maybe alternative fact

i dont believe that he would hold the hand of a male leader

But then i dont believe that the clintons are satanists either so i may be on the wrong thread

Obviously i am being light hearted Smile

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 15:06

Apparently he has a fear of steps

He seems to manage them just fine normally. Doesn't even tend to assist his own wife up or down them.

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 15:09

alternative fact

Is this the new buzz word for "false/lie" now Grin

Re holding hands with a male leader, I have no idea Confused maybe we will see him on the colonnade walk a few times with world leaders, maybe whoever is in charge in the White House H & S needs to look at the steps? It seemed to me one of them had a tricky maneuver to make and without thinking a hand was touched.....

Bear interesting that your so dismissive of her 100% assurances from Trump on Nato. In an hours meeting - can I ask what you were expecting?

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 15:10

An example of things that are said rather than written being worthless

It seems Boris assurance that the US ban not affecting Brits with dual nationality wasn't worth the breath it was spoken with

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 15:13

He seems to manage them just fine normally. Doesn't even tend to assist his own wife up or down them

Bear, I stand down, Trump and steps seems to be a specialty of yours, you have put considerable time into watching his "Steps Modus Operandi"Smile I must admit I have no prior knowledge here.

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 15:14

Bear interesting that your so dismissive of her 100% assurances from Trump on Nato

Interesting that you are so assured by positive comments on a subject DT has had contradicting viewpoints on and which were discussed only in an hour long meeting Hmm

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 15:18

It's just an observation debbie

Obama nearly always waited for his wife when going up and down steps, it looked chivalrous.

There was an article the other day about how all other recent presidents had walked up the stairs to the White House to greet the outgoing president alongside their wife but that DT had just raced up and left Melania still getting out of the car.

DT has an agenda. If you choose not to see that that's fine.

SemiPermanent · 30/01/2017 15:43

Trump has a fear of slopes - has been reported.
He grabbed TM's hand when faced with his phobia.

I lol'd at that myself, but I now realised that I should have been HORRIFIED! And OUTRAGED!

Thank goodness for mumsnet's entirely rational and non-hysterical critical mindset - it has set me on a better path.

Phew!

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 15:47

Looking forward to seeing him grab Putins hand when they meet and go down stairs then Hmm

This thread scares the shit out of me to be honest.

Dapplegrey1 · 30/01/2017 16:00

I don't think that's true at all. You may be misinterpreting a wish for people in general to be better educated about our political processes
Ontopof - there were quite a few posts on referendum threads before and after 24th June in which posters said they didn't think people below a certain IQ/level of education should be allowed to vote.
Obviously there were objections to this by some posters but many others let the posts go without comment.

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 16:04

Bear you always express negative emotions when you come into this boozer.

On the steps - as said - I have just not had the time to observe Trump on steps or anyone else for that matter.

Semi his fear of slopes is in question. It might be "alternative truth"... but interesting that some remainers want to chew the fat about the May/Trump Romance going down a few steps - than TM 100% Assurances over Nato.

But then no media is interested in it either....

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 16:05

YY Dapple but not just on here, in media, movements about it....

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 16:07

DT has an agenda. If you choose not to see that that's fine

Shock You really think he fancies her? Well lets face it we are living in strange times....I wonder how that would work if they divorced their current partners and married each other.... Would she remain PM and He President?

Dapplegrey1 · 30/01/2017 16:12

Debbie - it's scary. How do these movements against universal suffrage plan to test who can vote and who can't? IQ test? Interview? Written exam? It could end up like the GDR with phones being tapped and anyone voicing 'wrong' opinions would have their vote removed.

surferjet · 30/01/2017 16:15

DT only likes beautiful super models - I think TM & the queen are safe tbh, as lovely as they are.

No Melania and Phil have an agenda. It's called let their respective spouses get on with doing their jobs while they get on with theirs. I for one think this is a great improvement on non-elected spouses elbowing into the political sphere.

Just had a quick google to double check that SamCam did indeed get wheeled out to meet Barack and Michelle.

www.theguardian.com/politics/blog/2012/mar/14/barack-obama-david-cameron-visit-live

Only slightly less stomach curdling then the great Clegg/Cameron bromance in the gardens at No10.

Bearbehind · 30/01/2017 16:21

You really think he fancies her?

FFS some of the trains of thought on this thread are mind blowing.

Of course I don't think he fancies her- it's not a fucking playground.

I do think the hand gesture was to make her look like a weak little woman, which IMO it did.

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 30/01/2017 16:26

YY Dapple, as Fourmummy said - " re education".
