We are now in the throes of a right wing agenda willing to bring down the country for its own ideological beliefs. Bad things happen when good people do nothing. I for one will stand up so lest my children say I did nothing.

OP posts:

Rothermere I think the silencing is coming from the other side i.e. your side. Pro-Brexit economic news doesn't get reported. Remain pessimism is over reported. What a hypocritical rant that is.

Mag: do stop with parsing of 'mandate', it's completely ridiculous and getting desperate. Obviously people voted for something and it should happen.

MirabelleTree · 16/10/2016 10:19

I agree with that people with Remain voting MP's should write and show their support for their stance.

TheElementsSong · 16/10/2016 10:20

can't the adobe pls copy and paste

Sure, let me help you with that Winchester:

"There is an increase in these offences recorded in June 2016, followed by an even sharper increase in July 2016. The number of aggravated offences recorded then declined in August, but remained at a higher level than prior to the EU Referendum. These increases fit the widely reported pattern of an increase in hate crime following the EU referendum. Whilst January to May 2016 follows a similar level of hate crime to 2015, the number of racially or religiously aggravated offences recorded by the police in July 2016 was 41% higher than in July 2015." [italics mine]

There's a couple of nice graphs and everything.

Misti,

I just read the Bloomberg article you linked to. It is just another way in whichever markets these days are not doing their jobs properly. Speculators just assign a proxy for 'risk' and then it is just 'risk on' or 'risk off'. Stealing is the current proxy for global risk.

Personally I think it is a great buy down here.

Lightsoffplease · 16/10/2016 10:28

Count me in, OP. Even MN has gone right wing.

We're in deep shit and no one seems to give a shit.

They'll be giving a shit only when they struggle to feed and clothe their DC. When unemployment goes up and the unskilled labour force move back to their home countries. When they TRULY struggle, only then will the Brexiters give a shit.

prettybird · 16/10/2016 10:31

Shirley - I saw him a couple of weeks ago at an event and told him in person Smile - should have mentioned that. Blush

He's very visible and involved in the local community.

WinchesterWoman · 16/10/2016 10:31

In what way does that update my figures? It doesn't at all.

WinchesterWoman · 16/10/2016 10:33

You do know that's reported - not actual - crimes? Haven't you read any of my posts about True Vision, the flimsiness of the report system, the encouraging by social justice warriors to report report report, the police saying it doesn't mean there's been an actual rise in crime, and the fall in prosecutions?

WinchesterWoman · 16/10/2016 10:35

Look at your graph. It shows recorded hate crimes higher 2015-2016. Prosecuted hate crimes - however - are LOWER. You are talking about reports. Anyone can report a hate crime by filling in an online form.

MirabelleTree · 16/10/2016 10:36

Good on him Prettybird, how an MP should be.

OK, got it - it's all made up by totalitarian left wing warriors who are trying to bring Britain down.

Kaija · 16/10/2016 10:39

WW if you won't believe any of the evidence your only option is to do your own research. Go out and talk to real people, then come back and tell us your results.

jaws5 · 16/10/2016 10:40

Are you saying that foreigners and people with ulterior motives are reporting this kind of crime in order to discredit Brexit????

LordRothermereBlackshirtCunt · 16/10/2016 10:40

I suppose you think reports of rape are all made up as well, because they hardly ever get proven? It must be those ghastly feminist warriors encouraging women to report men who tried to hold a door open for them, or something.

I think I now understand the mentality of those Germans who turned a blind eye in the 1930s. They just denied it was happening.

MirabelleTree · 16/10/2016 10:42

I think actually WW's response here is in fact very helpful as it shows clearly what a lot of us are concerned about. She or he is doing some of us a favour and certainly has motivated me further to do what I can.

DoNotBringLulu · 16/10/2016 10:42

I have a German friend who has experienced nasty comments about not being British. I would assume many of the reported crimes are verbal abuse, which is reported but goes no further. My friend didnt report it.

jaws5 · 16/10/2016 10:43

Lord I've been thinking exactly that. Most Germans in the 30s, the ones who appeased and tolerated the growing horror, didn't think if themselves as xenophobic either.

smallfox2002 · 16/10/2016 10:43

WW is a really good example of the ignorance that got us into this situation.

WinchesterWoman · 16/10/2016 10:44

Kaija what are you on about. I have explained why your evidence is flimsy and brought my own evidence to the debate. The problem is not me 'not believing' is you refusing to accept that your evidence isn't flimsy, refusing to accept a set of statistics on prosecutions and refusing to accept a direct quote from a senior police officer. That's kind of your problem really. I work with a lot of EU migrants. None complained of abuse, and one abused me. Are you saying that foreigners and people with ulterior motives are reporting this kind of crime in order to discredit Brexit???? Definitely exaggerated. Being made up wouldn't surprise me to be fair, given my personal anecdotal experience.
Rothermere don't be low. It's not comparable.

smallfox2002 · 16/10/2016 10:45

Oh and would you please tell me about how and why I need to educate myself in economics WW?

WinchesterWoman · 16/10/2016 10:46

I notice there's a lot of name-calling and Godwin's law-ing and not too much about the statistics, the flimsiness of the reporting system and the words of the police. Bit bloody predictable.

Echo chamber.

smallfox2002 · 16/10/2016 10:47

"Being made up wouldn't surprise me to be fair, given my personal anecdotal experience. "

Anecdote is not the plural of data, and we use data because preconceived perceptions taint experience.

I'd say looking at your views expressed on here that will definitely be your case.

LordRothermereBlackshirtCunt · 16/10/2016 10:48

I agree Mirabelle. Her posts have certainly confirmed some of the things I've been concerned about.

WinchesterWoman · 16/10/2016 10:48

I have no idea who you are smallfox.

If you know something about economics I'm sure you know all about the importance of confidence. For example, I'm sure you know all about how Labour governments have suffered historically at the start of their terms on office from market pessimism/lack of confidence becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. Left-wing governments almost always had to fight against that, as well as everything else.
