THE BREXIT FALLOUT CONTINUES - THREAD NINE

The Tories have settled their scores and May is now PM.
Is it May's Day or May Day for the people?

After careful consideration I thought the best way to sum up the Labour Contest was in one simple picture. May Day, might also be appropriate here too.

----------------

Things are moving fast, so hold on tight for the Brexit Ride

Sense of humour compulsory. No experience necessary though

Still no mention of...IDS Shock

squoosh · 13/07/2016 21:37

'Where shall we send him first?'

The South Pole.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 21:37

Where he can have a bit of banter with some emperor penguins.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 21:38

I'd forgotten about 'Angela Leadsom fan' IDS!

QueenLaBeefah · 13/07/2016 21:38

Seriously hope IDS is no where to be seen. He is dreadful.

Showmethewaytogohome · 13/07/2016 21:39

'Where shall we send him first?'

Just in from a friend who was at FCO: "Boris fucking Johnson in Beirut dealing with Syria? I can't even deal with this lunacy."

I don't think people quite realise how many people at the Foreign Office tonight are crying in horror

Obiwan thanks for that imagery. Now I have to stay up for another hour just so I can close my eyes to sleep!! I used to like trifle too.

TheBathroomSink · 13/07/2016 21:42

IDS is fucked, I don't think there's any great desire from anyone other than Loathsome to give him a job, is there?

How long do you think he'll last?

QueenLaBeefah · 13/07/2016 21:43

I can cope with Johnson so long as no IDS or Loathsome.

LineyReborn · 13/07/2016 21:46

Is Boris Johnson meant to think about it overnight and actually turn it down? Hence the hanging around for Justine Greening and the others who haven't been allocated jobs yet.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 21:48

I'm not sure how it works. do you think they turn up and are given a gold envelope? Or is Dermot O'Leary there to announce it X Factor stylee?

RedToothBrush · 13/07/2016 21:49

Seven reasons in the past, if May had been his boss at the time, she could have sacked him.

Its grow up or you're permanently ended time.

He gets £250 grand a year for his column at the telegraph - will he have to leave it?

LineyReborn · 13/07/2016 21:52

I guess her motivation is either to rehabilitate him or to somehow contain him.

Or to fatally wound him.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 21:52

Surely he'll have to give up the column gig?

SwedishEdith · 13/07/2016 21:53

He gets £250 grand a year for his column at the telegraph - will he have to leave it?

I'll do it!

LineyReborn · 13/07/2016 21:53

I'd have thought he can't write that particular column any more?

TheBathroomSink · 13/07/2016 21:54

I'm hoping for the fatal wound...
maybe while he's on a trip to the rainforest or something.

Dunno about DT column. May struggle for time to do it, or may be a distraction his handlers can dangle in front of him?

Anyone got a Labour Party response yet?

ObiWanCannelloni · 13/07/2016 21:56

So - is the etiquette that they're offered job in advance (so they know which prices they have to move round the board) and the trip up to number 10 is a formality? I'm just trying to work out if there is a chance Johnson turns it down, once it sinks in it's not a cushy number with half days work a week for quarter of a mill? Or does his raging ambition mean he can't help himself wanting the job title?

RedToothBrush · 13/07/2016 21:56

Liney, that has to be the plan doesn't it? Doesn't it?

She honestly can't have done it thinking he was the perfect man for the job. Can she?

has a little cry in the corner in case that is the reality

No one turns down the post of Foreign Secretary.

Helmetbymidnight · 13/07/2016 21:58

I think they say yes or no on the spot...
(Or sneak out to think about it)
Boris cant back out of it now.
