To suggest Londoners stay in London

You voted differently to where I live - by a huge margin. In your newspapers that you write (in London) you have said over the years how much you contribute to our local economy through your second homes and buy to let investments. But you refuse to live here permanently. I don't have to ask you why - you already know.

The last fishing boat in my town only left 3 weeks ago - hopefully they can come back and when they do, we will be enjoying the 'catch of the day', not you, so you can go back to London and wax lyrical or make some money describing it.

chippy much? 'normal' people without second homes live in London too y'know...Confused

ghostyslovesheep · 26/06/2016 19:21

again - why are the people who 'won' the vote so angry and defensive - you won - have a cake and chill out

User543212345 · 26/06/2016 19:23

Is this an example of the "ordinary" people who won the referendum?

If so I'm glad we're extraordinary.

Grilledaubergines · 26/06/2016 19:23

I'm always intrigued as to what those who don't visit London think it's actually like. You do realise it's not champagne swilling, each housing, gold card flashing ecstasy don't you?

We have the same issues as everywhere else in the country. Housing problems, massive areas of poverty, joblessness, homelessness, you name it.

Get the chip off your shoulder and stop thinking and behaving like a silly fool.

Just5minswithDacre · 26/06/2016 19:26

No thanks.

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 19:26

You what?! Confused

WorraLiberty · 26/06/2016 19:26

I live in London

I have never written in a newspaper

I have never said anything over the years about how much I contribute to the economy.

I don't own a second home.

I am not a landlord.

I live here permanently.

You seem very good at making your mind up about things, without checking any facts at all....

TheRealAdaLovelace · 26/06/2016 19:26

" But you refuse to live here permanently. "

yes there is a reason for that......all these lovely picturesque places are OK for a week or two but after that you realise they are full of nasty rednecks, and take a fast train back to civilisation.Grin

originalmavis · 26/06/2016 19:27

Got enough chips to go with that fish?

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 19:28

Echoing Worra here, I have always lived in London and none of your post applies to me. Stereotypes don't help anyone

sunnydayinmay · 26/06/2016 19:28

Careful what you wish for. London may decide to leave the UK...

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 19:29

Wait... I have a second home? Could you send me some directions or something so that I know where to go on the next bank holiday weekend. Grin

AskBasil · 26/06/2016 19:29

Oh fuck off

I don't live in London but I voted the way Londoners did.

Most Londoners aren't small-town incomer and second homers and the problems second-homers cause, are not the fault of the EU.

So long and thanks for all the fish. Hmm

OddSocksHighHeels · 26/06/2016 19:29

You what? Confused

I live in London. I'm far from rich. I did have fish for dinner though.

Just5minswithDacre · 26/06/2016 19:30

Stereotypes don't help anyone

It's national stereotype week Rusty, haven't you noticed? Grin

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 19:30

Ooh do all us Londoners get second homes then? Count me in!

Just5minswithDacre · 26/06/2016 19:31

A lot of Londoners will be gob smacked to learn they own a first home, come to think of it Hmm

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 19:31

Haha Just, very true but I have been trying to avoid it all by sticking my head in the sand. What is done is done and I don't blame anyone

Helmetbymidnight · 26/06/2016 19:31

Who on earth sold property to those stinking Londoners?

Oh...

OddSocksHighHeels · 26/06/2016 19:32

Oh, I reread - YANBU, I will stay in London. You didn't think we all had a plan to leave London and invade the surrounding areas did you?

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 19:32

Exactly Just, the idea of owning one home is bloody fantastic, but to learn I have two is amazing

M00nUnit · 26/06/2016 19:33

As a Londoner, can I just say what the fuck are you wittering on about OP?

JassyRadlett · 26/06/2016 19:33

Where's my second home? Is it in Dorset? I bloody love Dorset but isn't practical for work and family reasons.

Oh, I just checked. No second home. Dammit, Just a mortgage on a modest semi and the usual bills most folk have. Like about 95% of Londoners.
