To suggest Londoners stay in London

You voted differently to where I live - by a huge margin. In your newspapers that you write (in London) you have said over the years how much you contribute to our local economy through your second homes and buy to let investments. But you refuse to live here permanently. I don't have to ask you why - you already know.

The last fishing boat in my town only left 3 weeks ago - hopefully they can come back and when they do, we will be enjoying the 'catch of the day', not you, so you can go back to London and wax lyrical or make some money describing it.

OP posts:

Or needing to get up for school in the morning.

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 20:05

Bloody Londoners, coming over here, taking our homes Wink

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 26/06/2016 20:06

Fuck off

London's not all made in Chelsea and Bridget twatting Jones you know

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 26/06/2016 20:08

Sorry Odd you are quite right of course. I got a bit giddy thinking about All The Houses.

Watchingdallas · 26/06/2016 20:08

The remain voters I know in London are as follows -

  1. PhD student living in a studio in hackney with her out of work boyfriend and a baby. Marks school scripts to make ends meet. Renting
  1. Single mother of two in Lambeth doing two jobs and bringing one child to work. Renting
  1. Polish out of work fresh graduate, his Egyptian wife and their baby son living in a garage just near Bethany green. Renting
  1. Canadian Indian Pilates teacher, Czech wife, daughter flat sharing with 3 others in hammer smith. Renting.

About twenty more in this category.

What the fuck is your problem OP?

Watchingdallas · 26/06/2016 20:09

Bethnal*

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 20:09

So I get a second home but crap fish? I want good fish!

originalmavis · 26/06/2016 20:09

Why is everything always 'their' fault? If only we could work out who 'they' were we could go around their house with flaming touches and pitchforks, and send the buggers back from whence they came.

Fucking 'themmers' coming over here and stealing our second homes, our newspapers and our nice fish.

Beeziekn33ze · 26/06/2016 20:10

In many places the vote is surprisingly (?) near 50:50, don't just look at the result, look at the numbers.
OP didn't you notice that not all Londoners voted remain? In my city just over half voted leave, regrettably IMHO. Stop making unsupported generalisations about the whole population of London.

smallfox1980 · 26/06/2016 20:10

No actually seriously OP.

Let me tell you a secret, without all the money earned in London you and your community would be fucked.

Do you think your Council Tax covers your services? Do you think Your income tax earned in the area covers your infrastructure costs?

Its not nice to hear, but "that London" subsidises a vast amount of what you get.

So cut us off all you like, but buy your own stuff yeah?

ghostspirit · 26/06/2016 20:11

i have a shed/garage is this classed as a 2nd home?

Baileysagain · 26/06/2016 20:11

I live in London and I feel so sad. In the last two days friends have lost their jobs and more are likely to soon as well. Friends who were moving have had their buyers pull out because of BREXIT and the majority of people are worried about their future. It's a shambles. We aren't rich, we can't afford a second home, we are one of millions who get by. We pay much more on mortgages and rents because we have no choice, our goods are more expensive because our shops pay more overheads and we have a more stressful life but London and the EU help support smaller towns OP if only you did your research and realised it.

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 20:12

As I said, I live in London but overall my borough voted to leave

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 26/06/2016 20:15

Wow look at the aggression towards OP - Honestly take a fucking CHILL PILL people

OP if you read The Times you could easily think London is full of affluent middle classes swilling Chablis and swanning off to Puglia
But we are not - we are like you in so many way except (a) more infrastructure and (b) far more employment opportunities

But we don't have a seaside - or fish Smile

OddSocksHighHeels · 26/06/2016 20:16

Noooo Rusty your first home (the London one) gives you, err, something but your second home gets you the good fish. That's how it works, we get rich purely from living in London (no need to actually work) and then buy second homes where we can steal all the fish. It's a great deal.

WorraLiberty · 26/06/2016 20:18

The OP rocks up and spouts the most ignorant, bigoted pile of misinformed bollocks about Londoners and we're supposed to 'take a fucking chill pill'?

Righto...

WorraLiberty · 26/06/2016 20:20

And for the record, well over 60% of the people in my borough who voted, voted to leave....

hollieberrie · 26/06/2016 20:20

We will - we're very happy here thanks Grin

Dont like fish anyway..

Mrscog · 26/06/2016 20:21

you have said over the years how much you contribute to our local economy through your second homes

Actually given that London generates 70% of GDP they probably contribute more to your local economy through standard taxation than how much they spend on their weekend breaks.

I'm not a Londoner, but voted remain, but love visiting Cornwall. I also love visiting London. What box do I fit into op?

OddSocksHighHeels · 26/06/2016 20:23

I realise I may be childish but CHILL PILL in caps lock with the name stopfuckingshoutingatme really made me giggle. I'll slow down on the wine now Blush

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 20:23

OddSocks the only thing my London home does it steal all my money. I still love it though

JassyRadlett · 26/06/2016 20:24

Does the chill pill come with good fish? I'm fucking sick of my second-rate London fish and BSE-free burgers.

GinIsIn · 26/06/2016 20:26

OP, come back! I want to know when I get the keys to the house! And where do I need to sign up for the fish?

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 20:26

Totally with you on slowing down the wine OddSocks. I have been trying to avoid any EU threads but my DFIL visited us in London today and dared to bring local wine for local people. I couldn't help but partake Grin

RustyPaperclip · 26/06/2016 20:28

I do have to say that the fish is amazing down in Dorset. When the keys come through for my second home it will be Cod every night
