I don't want another attack on me I already feel battered and bruised from people on here -I was watching Muse 'Uprising'' at Glastonbury, they were bloody fantastic and the lyrics jumped out at me (maybe I am going mad I don't know) but they summed up what I feel about the EU and why I voted how I did. Worth a listen if anyones has a spare five minutes.

I haven't once asked you what your plan is. I don't care what your plan is... Please don't tell me your plan. (Although I'm sure it's very cunning). HTH.

The reporting has calmed down a bit hasn't it? i think the interview with Mervyn King yesterday was key. When the ex governor of the bank of england starts saying people are overreacting, I think people start to listen. Laura Kuenssberg almost seemed disappointed that he wasn't playing ball by making a drama out of a crisis Grin

Mooingcow · 28/06/2016 21:13

LK has, like most media types this week, had the most throbbing hard-on of glee every time she interrupts anyone trying to answer any question other than 'Why are you a racist?' with any answer other than 'Sorry for Brexit, I'll kill myself now.'

It's getting very dull. But potentially a good drinking game. If I were the type, I'd have been hog-whimperingly smashed after Woman's Leavers Roasting Hour today.

Here's a journalist who might be alone tonight

Queen - yes I agree with you and I am trying to keep a rational perspective on this issue however when, and I quote Giddy ......."put my head up from the bunker and engage in reality...." I am gobsmacked by what I read and rational perspective gets a bit challenging.

Asprilla11 don't feed the goat. 💐

caitlinohara · 28/06/2016 21:23

Thanks for that mooingcow. It's good to know that that perspective is being reported. I think a lot of Remainers will look back on this time and be ashamed and embarrassed of the way they have conducted themselves.

QueenOfNowt · 28/06/2016 21:24

I'm only on page 2 (and new to Mumsnet) but wanted to say what a brilliant spirit-lifter it has been to read the posts on here - especially claig and mangomoon's. I voted Leave and couldn't be more elated if my hateful cat had been run over. As has been proved since Thursday's victory, members of the left-ish, pro-EU political elite (and the snarling Mumsnet Remain mob) more than match traditional right-wingers in their contempt for popular democratic decision making.

Democracy does not always come up with the right answers. It is a risky enterprise precisely because its outcomes cannot be predicted, but without it the flourishing of public life is inhibited. That, today, far-right parties are improving their electoral standing is not an argument against democracy; it’s an argument against technocratic governance. Historically, the elitist disdain for the masses was characteristic of right-wing political thought. Today, this sensibility is shared by left and right alike - even those who used to denounce the EU as a capitalist institution now prefer it to the risky business of popular democracy.

The attitude of the European political class (and Mumsnet Remainiacs, it would seem) towards ordinary people is condescending and dismissive. We - the triumphant Brexiters - are called xenophobic, homophobic and Islamophobic. Yet those who are only too willing to attach a phobia label to other people, do not recognise their own affliction: demosphobia.

Sorry Trini Grin

Hi Queen....nice here isn't it? Smile

bkgirl · 28/06/2016 21:49

I have just caught up with the weekends social media etc. It is dreadful. The stories of real racists picking on people is horrific. So to are the pathetic remainers who have trolled social media attacking the elderly, the 'poor' and the 'uneducated'. They come on my sm and said they aren't friends with anyone who voted leave! To be frank I don't need friends who have the maturity of 8 year old's let alone contemptuous of democracy.

Excellent post QueenOfNowt. Welcome to MN Smile Brew

Fontella · 28/06/2016 22:15

Superb post QueenOfNowt

Limer · 28/06/2016 22:23

Great posts QueenOfNowt and Mangomoon and of course our very own claig plus too many more to mention!

I'm just so pleased that at long last, this country will be freed from the cold, dead hand of the EU.

QueenOfNowt · 28/06/2016 22:30

Gee, thanks! GrinBrew It's great to be among the brave. I've just finished reading Mango's excellent article and this is perfect in its truth: 'When the Remain camp appealed to their ‘facts’, forecasts, and models, they hoped that these would be judged as outside of the fray of politics. More absurdly, they seemed to imagine that the opinions of bodies such as the IMF might be viewed as ‘independent’. Unfortunately, economics has been such a crucial prop for political authority over the past 35 years that it is now anything but outside of the fray of politics.'

If this referendum was won on lies then it was lost in the extraordinary bullshit coughed up by The Economist, the Financial Times, George Osborne, The IMF, the Wank of England et al. And the dim Remainers bought the lot.

TriniRedVelvet · 28/06/2016 22:46

Welcome QueenOfNowt 🎉

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/07/2016 19:07

You've all gone very quiet - is it Boris and Gove's "you couldn't make this shit up" moment? Do you now think perhaps Boris was playing games with you all and didn't mean a word of the crap he was spouting?
Or is it Osborne announcing we really are going to be in financial deep shit (as if we weren't in enough before you voted Leave) for a mighty long time. I hope you're wringing your hands and wailing "but I thought we were all going to be living in the land of milk and honey when we 'took back control'"
Thanks again. Brexit - the gift that keeps on giving!

RosesareSublime · 01/07/2016 19:26

Welcome Queen Star

Pleasure to hear voices of clear calm reason.

GreenishMe · 01/07/2016 19:39

Hi Roses.....have you come here for a break from the madness like me?

GreenishMe · 01/07/2016 19:40

Goady Git's on a roll again Wink

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/07/2016 19:47

I would actually like to know, I am curious as to whether the reality of things has dented your beliefs in the Leave dream. That was all. Not sure I deserve abuse for that ... but you clearly feel justified.

Hi all, fellow leave voter her. Out and proud 😀 I hope I'm welcome on this thread? X

Peppatina · 01/07/2016 20:08

What an oasis this is!

I have been called a thick racist twat for pointing out racism is not just against eu migrants.

I was spit on and screamed at 'Nigger!' While I was with my children by a gang of Romanisn men.

But to point this out is wrong apparently.

And the sheer hypocrisy. Some Remain voters are all to happy to think all people who voted like them must be educated, tolerant and lovely people.

Then we get threads where some Remainers have essentially said fuck all the poor and the old ( the young ones get off despite so few of them actually turning up to vote). People with learning disabilities are thick and shouldn't get to vote. Screaming 'RACIST' at any piece of dust that floats past them...

I feel so happy and relieved, just can't wait until article 50 gets the ball rolling so we can shut up idiots trying to wheedle their way surround a democratic decision. Legal or not the country was asked and answered.

I don't believe people actually understand what the implications of ignoring that while under the watch of the whole world would be.

Also I've never seen such a huge disconnect between real life and the echo chamber of social media.

Spend too long on here and you start to wonder if the sky is really falling in and if all Remain voters were always venomously rabid anti- old/poor/anyone who didn't nod along with them.

Meanwhile in real life everyone is carrying on. I've heard remain and leave voters discussing things calmly, certainly no hysterics or massive failings out.

Louw1988 · 01/07/2016 20:10

Oh gosh that's awful. I've been accused of being racist so far but not spat or anything x
