Is anybody else gutted about the shooting of Jo Cox - For democracy, for her family and for the progress that women have made in society?

I'm dumbfounded at what's happened to Joe Cox. It's so wrong on so many levels.

OP posts:
SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/06/2016 16:43

Where the fuck does the analogy with Hitler come from?

Jo Cox, whatever your politics, was a hard working MP who was murdered yesterday, and her parenting decisions which you find so despicable are now over forever because she is dead. You're posts are actually somewhat less offensive than I imagine you hope, because they're so utterly cretinous.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:43

And yet we're meant to believe a white nationalist with such extreme views never once gave any indication to his mixed race half brother of his views in all those years?

You do realise that the entire establishment/big business across the world wants the UK to stay in the EU, right? Are you seriously equating pointing out this could be set up by vested interests to weird David Icke lizard people theories?

You're awfully naive.

allyjay · 17/06/2016 16:43

I notice it's all brexiters on this thread who are the ones trying to empathise Mair's mental health and downplay his links to the far right. And then start blustering and calling posters who are disagreeing with them as people who are seeking to capitalise on Jo's assassination. Hmmm strange that.......

allyjay · 17/06/2016 16:44

Emphasise not empathise!

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:44

It's called a logical comparison. You try to shut down debate by saying you can't criticise a dead person. No, I'm just not allowed to criticise a dead person you'r defending because it's inconvenient for you. IT's a shaming tactic. Like shouting racist or bigot.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/06/2016 16:45

I kind of want to report your posts, but I suspect you're the kind of megalomaniac who would take that as proof that the world isn't ready for your incisive and unblinkered opinion.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:45

sorry, but there's no conclusive evidence he has links to the far-right. I'd also like you to define far-right. It will be interesting to find out what you think it means.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:46

I'm surprised you thought twice about reporting my posts. After all, the establishment and their lackies usually just censor anything they don't like.

Helmetbymidnight · 17/06/2016 16:46

My god Lucy, people really think like you?

Wow.

nearlyhellokitty · 17/06/2016 16:47

it seems the police found nazi regalia in his house. though this is a rumour I will admit.

I think Lucy has just proved many of our points.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/06/2016 16:47

Don't be so fucking stupid. That's not even remotely a logical comparison.

I am saying it's profoundly distasteful to all a woman who was murdered 24 hours ago despicable. That is not the same as saying no-one can engage in sensible critique of people who are dead. Including, just to be clear, Hitler.

'Shaming technique' indeed. You should be ashamed.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:47

I'd love to know what the pro-EU people on here actually think the EU does for them.

Or could it be they're taking the fashionable position in order to virtue signal about how right-on they are. After all, one wouldn't want to look like one of those awful dirty working class people who vote for little inglundur parties like UKIP now, would one.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/06/2016 16:48

'The establishment' - BINGO!

baptismoffire · 17/06/2016 16:48

And some of the establishment like dear old Boris just want to get into number 10

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:48

But it's not distasteful to use her death for political gain like you're doing?

Yes, you've convinced me. I am in awe of your moral rectitude.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/06/2016 16:49

This is a thread about being sad that Jo Cox has been murdered.

If you want to understand why people feel the EU is a good thing, start another.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:50

I agree with you about Boris. But he's one of very few establishment MPs who've taken this position. I honestly think he is only doing this to become PM. But that's irrelevant. What's relevant are the facts of the debate , not the character of one person.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:50

Translation: I've not the foggiest idea why the EU is good, but I just say it's good because I like to follow the orthodoxy.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:51

"BINGO"

???????????

Are you suggesting there isn't an establishment?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/06/2016 16:51

No, Lucy - like I say, start another thread. I don't think this is the place for lists about the EU.

I think you might be a little bit unhinged.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:52

Yes, people with critical thinking skills do exist. Did I shock you?

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:53

Yes, I am unhinged for objecting to spreading rumours and presenting them as facts in order to gain politically from an MP's death.

CoolforKittyCats · 17/06/2016 16:53

Lucy for goodness sake stop!

I notice it's all brexiters on this thread who are the ones trying to empathise Mair's mental health and downplay his links to the far right. And then start blustering and calling posters who are disagreeing with them as people who are seeking to capitalise on Jo's assassination. Hmmm strange that

Well there is one here that isn't. I will say don't use Jo's murder for political gain for whatever reason. It is distasteful and unnecessary as is clumping groups of people together whatever 'side' of the debate you are on.

I have also said everyone should wait until the police report as to what exactly happened.

I also knew Jo well. She was a lovely compassionate woman.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/06/2016 16:53

No, I'm saying that idiots who think their points are wildly controversial and that's the only reason people take exception to them often tend to cite 'the establishment' in precisely the way you have done.

Of course there is an establishment; it's just that it's not in some kind of conspiracy to silence your ludicrous ramblings.

LucyDickinson224 · 17/06/2016 16:54

It's not a conspiracy? Then why is every mainstream party pro-EU and singing from the same hymn sheet. They are carbon copies. The entire media is also smearing Brexit by exploiting this woman's death.

Do naive gullible people like you really exist?
