What was your school motto?

Following on from a thread about latin phrases, I thought about how schools describe their values...

My school motto was Fortiter Vivamus - we live bravely.

What was yours?

Wannabe - very good! Fiat Punto has a better ring to it though.

Flightattendant4 · 27/10/2008 20:53

Thankyou Ruby - think it must have been same motto, different school!

My childrens school motto is Magnum Fac Animum Habeas

I have no idea what it means.... can someone enlighten me?!

CowsGoMoo yes it was MoHo!

When were you there? I am ancient so I left in 1987.

CowsGoMoo · 27/10/2008 22:39

Hello fellow MoHo old girl!!!!

I left in '93!

Still live close(ish) to the school, bit further along the coast and have never made it back for an old girls day.... have recently thought more about it since my little girl started school and how I'd like her to go there at 11?!

Have you been back at all? The uniform has changed a lot, no cloaks for starters or hideous summer see through skirts! I see the odd MoHO girl about now and then.

I was told that Mr Barlow thought up the the school motto as we didn't have one originally?!

Mn is such a small world!

Meliora Sequamur (following the best)

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 27/10/2008 23:32

'Knowledge is no longer a fountain sealed' as well

that might have been the G(P)DST motto rather than the particular school though - can't remember
