Is anyone else here from Kent and their child sitting the Kent test this September? thought it might be good to have a support thread going. If there already is one could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Yes, same here, all great schools :-) I have everything crossed we get to put at least one of them on our form next week!
I've also visited our local academies and states in case things haven't gone my son's way, some fab schools around.

Nearer Ashford than Folkestone but we did the Shepway test as a failsafe.

Schools find out results ahead of time as there is a period where schools can submit a headteacher's appeal. Maybe it is a couple of weeks?

@11plusdrama Are you in Kent? The results are this Wednesday, definitely.
Yes the schools have known for a couple of weeks, and the Headteachers appeals are all done. Nearly there. Thank goodness!

At my DC school the head is new so how would they know which child(ren) to make an appeal for?

If a pupil misses the pass mark by 1 for example, the headteacher would file an appeal for the child, which will involve reading the creative writing and their year 5 books.

They would talk to their Y5 or Y6 teachers who know the children very well.

Us parents wouldn't be notified but would find out on the results email where the child has been deemed "suitable for a grammar place" but have narrowly missed the pass mark.

We won't be receiving ours until tomorrow so pretty chilled today but I know I'll be feeling quite anxious then.

It has been 2 weeks since the Medway results but starting to feel anxious again now. I almost just want it over with so we can order our school choices, but until then we still have hope x
