Hello fellow parents, Just wanted to start a thread on RGS Guildford, which our children will be sitting on 11th January 2020. Not long now.

@Mantapeace have heard from 5 friends now. All got NO letters today. I can’t believe we have another two weeks of this. At least their waiting is over.

I’m new to this process but if the no letters arrive today, doesn’t that just mean that everyone else who hasn’t heard is a yes? And if so, why does the school need an extra 10 days or so to tell these people?

In theory yes except for those who had call back / 2nd interviews who have to wait to find out whether they were successful or not .

Looking at the 2019 thread, all the no’s were received on Saturday 2nd February 2019. So it makes sense that today is indeed the day... 😬

Nothing here thank goodness. Nearly had a heart attack when DH thought he was so funny saying “Post’s arrived; there’s something here from RGS.....” Shock

Is today's "no" letter for 11+ only? Does it apply to the boys who took 13+ as well?

@SkaryKat, yes even for the 13+, the no letters should have been sent out. Historically thats been the case.

There is a so called gentleman’s agreement with other private schools. So the girls were told last week and the boys are told on the 14th fo Feb.

Im totally confused now as we have conflicting reports... @JamesBond123 yesterday called RGS and was told the NO letters weren’t sent out yet, which means nobody will have post today...

Oh dear I’m totally overthinking this now, need to get my mind clear and off this topic 🤣

We had a yes from Reeds yesterday and a no from RGS today. Waiting from one more school on 14th.

Hi @BooRadley7, the person I spoke to at RGS wasn't Katherine Sweet. Whoever it was didn't seem to be fully aware of when the rejection letters were going out so perhaps they weren't properly informed. Our post was clear today too! 😄

Hello, does anyone know if one received 'NO' letter for 13+ with an offer for 12+ sitting option today too?
Or do we receive the rejection with an option to sit 12+ on the 14th Feb?

@saladloving My understanding for 13+ applicants is that if don’t receive a rejection letter today(or over next couple of days??) then will either get an offer letter on 14th Feb or get an invitation letter on 14th Feb that says come back again for 12+....
