Hello fellow parents, Just wanted to start a thread on RGS Guildford, which our children will be sitting on 11th January 2020. Not long now.

All the no letters (for those that didn’t have callback interviews) will go out together. From looking at previous years they seem to arrive on the 1st Feb! So posting on Friday seems about right!

It seems such a painfully slow process...although I know it's not actually that long. I guess so much rides on the decisions for these boys that we're all impatient to know one way or the other.
I'm now secretly hoping that someone braver than I calls to confirm our posting suspicions tomorrow... Grin

I'm on a course on Saturday. Which is probably a good thing really. Saves me from pouncing on the postman in an unseemly fashion. I would prefer to open a "no" letter before DS though. He wants to open letters from schools himself. I suppose it will depend who it's addressed to Confused

I thought the nos were suppose to be received by tomorrow? So they must have been sent out already no?

@R272727 ...that is not my understanding.
RGS agree to let parents with a straight 'no' know this outcome 'a little before the 14th February'. Over the last few years, 'no' letters have been received between the very end of January and first few days of February. Boys who had interviews will hear yes/no in the 14th Feb mailing.

@123EyesOnMe I mean the ones with no second interview. They should hear by tomorrow so it should have been sent out already surly otherwise wait time until early next week Confused

This will make it all the more painful for you, but I work in a school and know that all RGS results are out and all the Heads knew 2 weeks ago. Hopefully results will be in the post tomorrow for straight 'no' without interviews.... All the rest will be 14/15th Feb post...

I just called RGS who said that NO letters have yet gone out. Mrs.Sweet was out at lunch and that's the information I received from her assistant. When I asked if any letters would be sent out today, she said she didn't think so! 🤷 If anyone does have a rejection letter, can you please let us know, but it doesn't seem that's likely.

The straight no letters will come earlier, the school are very clear on that. I'm still going to be checking the mail carefully tomorrow and early next week...

Congratulations BooRadley! It must be a relief to have an offer in the bag. (My DS has some friends very keen to go to Reed's. Hope they get good news too. )
