And now it begins!!!

This is stressful. I got a letter from RGS this morning and it turned out to be my eldest son's GCSE entrance exam confirmations. Nearly had a fit. I wish I knew if the letters had come out, or not.

The final offer letters always come on a Friday, but the outright "no" letters have never (in the past 5 years) come out on a Friday. In fact the latest date they have ever been sent has been the 30th to arrive on the 31st. Most years its actually been a few days or as much as a week earlier.....i know this as I have been though the process before 3 years ago and my 2 DNs went through it last year and the year before....however this year could be different so until we actually hear of a "no" we can't really relax (unless everyone on this thread is a "yes" which would be nice!). When my DS1 was going through it a friend of mine actually called the admissions office and asked if the letters had been sent and she was told that they had...not sure I am brave enough to do that though.....

A few Lanesborough nos are out. The school had dropped heavy hints to those boys a few days ago

Does anyone know of No letters have actually been sent out ?

Someone earlier in the thread said that Lanesborough have had some no’s?

It seems to vary every year - presuming the person mentioning Lanesborough knows this for sure?

I can see last year No letters arrived 31st and perhaps 1st. Dr Cox did say that he would let outright Nos know by end of Jan. so assuming this logic they are out there, but I don’t know for sure.

I am late to the thread too. DS sat the exam and was called back for the Maths interview.

Anyone who got an interview has to wait until the yes letters come out.

Are we any the wiser as to whether or not the "no"s have definitely come out yet? Still waiting for todays post.....

Well I haven't heard of any 'no's at my school - even from the boys who sat it as a real long shot and thought they had done badly. I think that perhaps they might have changed the process this year and maybe aren't sending them out until much later......so more stressful mailbox stalking....

No post at my end today, either... Reeds school results are out, but nothing from RGS...
