Same here. But there's still tomorrow. Just wondering whether anyone has nerve to ring Registrar to ask if letters have gone out.

beegee · 16/01/2015 13:23

Post just arrived.. DS has a call back interview in Maths and VR next week! Relieved he has another chance as didn't finished either paper. So - recall papers are out!!

butty4 · 16/01/2015 13:30

good news beegee.........fingers crossed and good luck for next week.

feeblefingers · 16/01/2015 13:39

It's a horrible anxious wait - I remember it well. You reach the stage where no news is good news.

Tisawiedge · 16/01/2015 13:39

When was it typed up?? Post could still come tomorrow.

Wishing your son lots of luck. does it detail how it's all going to work -?

Tisawiedge · 16/01/2015 13:40

Feeblefingers - have you already got a son there?

feeblefingers · 16/01/2015 13:43

Yes in the third year. He didn't finish VR paper and said he guessed answers. Last year alot of his friends had brothers do the test. Not that many got in so there isn't any sibling advantage.

beegee · 16/01/2015 14:02

Thanks for good wishes. The letter is dated 15th, so posted yesterday. All it says is 'we would like to invite your son to return for interviews in both Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning.' No other details other than time, place etc. it's only for half an hour though.. Which to my mind is quite tight. Wonder what they ask of the boys. Anyone any experience of these? I imagine he will be in with other boys on recall

Wellington15 · 16/01/2015 14:03

Good luck beegee. I am sure he will do well.

Hi feeblefingers, my boy is also in third year. Yes i also heard no sibling advantage. X

Kay34 · 16/01/2015 14:06

Beegee well done to DS. Can't see any sign of postman having been.......just got home from work.

Well done beegee. Are they on seperate days for Maths and VR? Wonder of the English ones come out a day later?

Tisawiedge · 16/01/2015 14:54

Just wish we knew more about rejection letters! When oh when will they post them?

butty4 · 16/01/2015 15:05

the suspense of not knowing is unbearable isn't it.....

Tisawiedge · 16/01/2015 15:24

Also, just because one person has received interview letter today, doesn't mean we won't get ours tomorrow. Post is unreliable which is why email would be so much better!

beegee · 16/01/2015 15:39

Maths and VR together, and just half an hour of his time needed.

Waiting for post is unbearable, yes. Email would be better. Particularly if you're working and away from the postbox. Also, our post comes quite late in the day. Perhaps it's easier for them their end to have letters go out.

butty4 · 16/01/2015 15:46

Yes agree on the email thing, is there a recall interview for English? Just thought it was for VR and Maths. Dreading post tomorrow!!!!!

Kay34 · 16/01/2015 15:59

I think Beegee had best way of looking at this. If you get a recall you know you are still in the running. You must be well into the top half of candidates. You have an opportunity. The interview is not to test what you know already but whether you can learn at the pace they want.

My DS also sat it and I'm nervously waiting! The comprehension was Rooftoppers - my DS read it at school in October. Comprehension is usually his weakest area so hoping that might have helped him a bit. He was asked what he'd take from a burning house - he said a book, a torch and his teddy bear. I'm not holding out much hope!

Tisawiedge · 17/01/2015 09:11

Any news/post anyone? Postman not yet been. Feeling rather resigned!

notatigerhonest · 17/01/2015 10:04

Postman's been and gone...only a bill!....does anyone know of a 13+ candidate who got a second interview as I haven't come across one yet....beginning to wonder if it's only 11+ candidates they interview?

Tisawiedge · 17/01/2015 10:06

As far as I know - 11+ get the interview and the 13+ get the 'come back at 12 option'

notatigerhonest · 17/01/2015 10:39

Did the headmaster say that I'm the morning? I must have missed that bit...such a shame for 13+ candidates not to be given the option of a second chance as being asked to come back a year later and do the whole thing again (bearing in mind you will have had to pay a deposit at another school and persuade your DS he wants to go there !) isn't very appealing.

Tisawiedge · 17/01/2015 10:48

No but it's in the admissions supplement. I agree though. How do they know that an 11+ candidate won't be better in a year's time? Don't understand it all! We are 11+ so are expecting second interview or rejection!! Or even offer!! Still waiting for post although sometimes post doesn't seem to come on a Saturday. It's awful this wait.

butty4 · 17/01/2015 11:36

post been and gone.......no 2nd interview for us! so now waiting for rejection letter or slim chance that we may get an offer!!! Another week of waiting....!!!

Tisawiedge · 17/01/2015 12:08

Same here. Do we know rejection letters are definitely out next week?
