harrison1999purple - on the subject of sport, how competitive is it in general? DS comes from a small prep school so used to being in the "A" team for most sports - he's sporty, but by no means the best. Would he have a good chance of making into the "B" team? I would hate for him not to be able to continue with his sport as he does love it.....

Wellington15 · 30/01/2015 15:57

Kay34, i think period 8 is only for third year onwards. I m trying to find the letter they gv. When i do, i will let u know why x

Tisawiedge · 01/02/2015 17:42

Are we safe -? No post.

sazzy5 · 01/02/2015 18:11

Let's hope so! Lol. I have almost relaxed....

butty4 · 01/02/2015 19:46

yes, roll on Friday 13th.......

Wellington15 · 01/02/2015 20:32

I honestly think its very much positive news for all. Xx

MrAndMrsSmythe · 01/02/2015 21:14

Has anyone rang up for the St. George's results ?

The girls are notified before the boys, though they say they don't mind us calling up before release, if waiting is going to compromise us in any way..

Mumtogremlins · 02/02/2015 07:03

Is that St George's Weybridge? If so, ours arrived on Friday

MrAndMrsSmythe · 02/02/2015 07:41

Hi Mum to Gremlins

Was that for a DS or DD ?

harrison1999purple · 02/02/2015 09:06

Kay34, Yes P8 is only for third year and above and no, Years 1 & 2 dont, but there are plenty of after school clubs etc for all years.

uncleblariashat, it depends on the year group. My DS2 was sports captain at his small prep school, and made the B Team - just - in hockey but he'd never played hockey or rugby before and there were a number of County players in his year so he didnt have a hope...then there's the new 50 boy who turn up in Year 3 to consider! I know that the year below struggled to get a decent B team together so it's really luck of the draw. However, they regularly turn out a C and D Team in both sports so your DS should make a team! Generally if you're keen, you get in a team so dont be put off!

unclebulariashat · 02/02/2015 10:50

Thanks harrison1999purple - that's good to know. I think DS would go crazy if not able to play sport - and then drive ME crazy!...

Kay34 · 02/02/2015 11:15

Thanks Harrisonpurple. We are gravitating to RGS with a view that we will keep up football outside of school. It may mean choices on a Saturday morning but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. Allowing myself to start getting hopeful now.

Haven't heard anything at all..from RGS. Should we be expecting a good news or could it be No still? Where do we stand now, any ideas, really appreciate!!thank you!!

sazzy5 · 02/02/2015 16:47

Rai18 from all I have heard the no letters went out some time ago, so unless it is lost in the post it should be good news. I spoke to some other parents today who know of people who gave had so no letter, my head also confirmed they'd Benin sent out a while back....

feeblefingers · 03/02/2015 14:54

My son plays sport every single Saturday for RGS - that's one thing we didn't factor in when we were looking at schools. If you're picked for a team, you're expected to play. No picking and choosing. This did have an impact on some his other sports commitments outside school (and social events!) but that could be partly to do with the fact that we live some distance from RGS. He's now in the third year and has decided to drop club rugby but plays at school in the Autumn term. He's in the Cs/socials for hockey and has played in the As for cricket. The arrival of the new boys in the third year does have an affect on teams as there appear to be a number of district/county players but most boys accept this with a shrug. My son has never found it cliquey.
There are lots of clubs/after school sports practices.

Tisawiedge · 03/02/2015 15:22

Let's hope that's the case....

Rai18 · 03/02/2015 20:55

Thank you sazzy5.

Mumtogremlins · 04/02/2015 22:02

Can anyone remember what Dr Cox said about the results date? Was it on 14th Feb or by 14th Feb? I'm wondering if they will be posted out next week

notsomellowyellow · 04/02/2015 22:13

Mumtogremlins I thought he said we would have the results 'on' the 14th. That's a Saturday. In previous years the results have been available on the Friday. I am so bored of waiting now.... and it still could be a 'No!'

beegee · 04/02/2015 23:45

Bored here too, Notsomellowyellow... Having to tell myself daily to hang in there and keep positive. It's hard knowing that it could so easily be a 'no' after all this waiting.

Kay34 · 05/02/2015 08:29

I think Thursday 12th is the posting date for all Trinity Group schools and so if the post is good, we will know on Friday 13th if not Saturday.

Beegee and notso, hang in there. There is nothing you can do about the outcome, your DS has been amazing to handle this process-it is pretty hard anyway let alone with the extra step you've had to do. Lets hope we all get nice thick envelopes on the 13th/14th!

Tisawiedge · 05/02/2015 16:19

Thick envelope? Is that what we should be looking out for??

mawoo · 05/02/2015 23:04

When my first DS got in, it wasn't a thick letter - just a thin one! A thicker one follows afterwards. If that helps - so don't panic if it looks thin!

butty4 · 10/02/2015 06:44

Good Luck to everyone hanging in there waiting for results, roll on Friday.
