Inspired by the threads before Christmas, I was hoping we could get another thread going to motivate us as we sell and ask each other questions as we go along.

I am hoping to start selling again once the dc go back to school next week.

Anyone else want to join me?

Thanks everyone - all useful advice. I'll hold off on the more summery stuff and get the winter on there pdq. I'll see how bundles go - I'm now in two minds, but I'll definitely sift out the better stuff.

I'm now worried that I'm in denial about the true extent of tank girl's shenanigans in the comic strips. I'm going to have to dig them out before toddler gets hold of them...!

SNOWBall4girlz · 10/02/2012 20:11

hi there
to get seller fees back I think you have to cancel the transaction and to do this I am not sure ifyou can after refnding ?

Is it free listing agan over weekend I hope so gonna really try this week as I am very skint :(
bra not back yet

mogs0 · 10/02/2012 23:19

I have scheduled the grand total of one item for tomorrow night HmmGrin. It's a start and it is a biggy (buggy) so will hopefully kick-start me to get lots more done tomorrow.

I have photos of another buggy but I'm really unsure whether I'm actually ready to part with it. I suppose if the start price is high enough to make it worth my while then I could be persuaded Grin.

Infact, I might schedule it now then I have less chance of backing out!

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 10:04

SNOW it is definitely free listing weekend this weekend.

I am going to relist everything that hasn't sold yet. If ds is settled then I might add some new stuff as well. I don't want to end up with too much to package in one week but given that some of it hasn't sold yet then it might not sell again. I have only listed 3 99p things this week so I don't want to lose my momentum.

I seem to do ok with bundles of DSs stuff. Sold a few last week, 6 or 7 items in a bundle, and they went for £10-£15.

mogs0 · 11/02/2012 12:34

2nd buggy is scheduled for tonight and I have a couple of things ready to photo and schedule now.

Ds and I are having a tidy up today. He's gone through his summer stuff ready for holiday on Tuesday. There are some things that are a bit small but he's a hoarder like me and doesn't want to part with anything. We've agreed he can take them on holiday then we'll eBay them when we get home Grin. maybe I could photograph them now then they just need a quick wash when we get back...or maybe that's a bit too organised for me Grin.

Isn`t it true tho that everything on the free listing has to start at a pound?
The reason I am asking is that I have a few knick knacks that are worth upto 45 pounds. Before it just not would not let me auction anything above 99p,it just would not go through. For future reference, can I put a minimum on,even if I might have to pay for the listing?Thank you.

ragged · 11/02/2012 20:15

No, I just listed loads (17 items, actually) at all sorts of prices (up to £14.99). Go ahead & list, Saturdays tend to be good!

jardy · 11/02/2012 20:55

Thanks ragged but it definatly says that free listing is when the goods start at a pound.Have I got this wrong?I assume that unless you list for a pound or less you will be charged.Thats the free listing for this weekend.I know I can put my stuff on but if I go over the pound mark list price I will be charged,it won`t be free

mogs0 · 11/02/2012 21:33

I've just listed my lot here. One item is starting at £300 and I did not get charged a listing fee, only charged for the BIN price and extra photos.

I'm going to schedule a few more things to go on tomorrow night.

Fingers crossed all some of it sells!

roguepixie · 11/02/2012 22:52

jardy, you get 100 free listings every month that start at 0.99p or below - that is given EVERY month.

A free listing weekend is when your listing has to start at £1.00 OR above...so you can list at £1.00 or £1,000.00 - it'll be free to list.

SNOWBall4girlz · 11/02/2012 23:16

hi there
your listings need to start at a pound or more not sure how much the higher limit is i have listed some shoes at 50 pound for free just need to edit and add pictures
I sometimes put stuff on at a higher price when its free then edit the auction and lower the price when I have time :) iykwim

roosterroo · 12/02/2012 15:03

Hi Ladies,

jardy · 12/02/2012 16:35

Thanks mogs, snow and rogue, must have got confused!I am about to start my listings, long night ahead, but has to be worth it as I am well and truly broke.
Good Luck to everyone!

jardy · 12/02/2012 20:20

Help,it started off letting me list stuff at £2 and above, next thing, won`t let me list unless it starts at 0.99p.Since some of my stuff is worth a lot more, any advice as to what I am doing wrong.Soooo frustrating!

Tortoise · 12/02/2012 21:40

Been busy listing tonight plus relisted a few bits.
My listings

Tortoise · 12/02/2012 21:40

Jardy - No idea why that's happening. I haven't had any problems.

jardy · 12/02/2012 22:27

Tortoise,I finally figured out that if I put the listing as a .99 it would work,eg not £2:00 but £1.99 or not £10 but £9.99.
I put on 33 items tonight,so fingers crossed I will make a bob or two.Only two things are over £5.Thank you for replying.Very tired now, this is my laptop I am on and it does let me do £ signs.DH`s super fast but he says he needs to adjust the settings, meanwhile it only operates in dollars! Smile Night and GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

jardy · 14/02/2012 17:34

Very very pleased that I have got an excellent bid already, ten pounds for some pottery straight away, might be more in the end, excited

ragged · 14/02/2012 17:52

Welcome to Roosterroo

No bids, & only have about 8 watchers on 5 items (out of 19 listings)... but 3 of those on the most expensive item, so I live in hope :).

Tortoise! I have the same dressing gown (spotty one) as you list, but DS3 still using it. Will keep an eye on that one. Wink

Tortoise · 14/02/2012 20:03

I've got a few watchers. 6 on tatty old DMs! No bids so far.

TheDogTheDogHesAtItAgain · 15/02/2012 12:28

Tortoise, I reckon you've tapped into the new grunge with those DMs - hope you get bids Smile.

I'm up to just over £100, which isn't bad because really all I have are bits and pieces. Got £31 for a partly-used Jo Malone set, which I'm really pleased about. Haven't put anything else on just yet as I prefer to wait until all transactions from the previous week have cleared, and one of my buyers hasn't paid yet (ended on Sunday).

BTW, that person, if they pay, bought a motley collection of Hama boards for just over £10 - which does seem par for the course for Hama stuff. So it may be worth checking your loft for any Hama that your dcs have grown out of...

Tortoise · 15/02/2012 14:32

My dc love hama beads. I gave up getting off ebay because of the prices. Found quite a few boards and beads in charity shops lately.

TheDogTheDogHesAtItAgain · 15/02/2012 15:31

Yes, I agree that, as a buyer, I might not have been quite so enthusiastic! I started the auction at 99p, so that was the price that people bid it up to.

Tortoise · 15/02/2012 18:38

As a seller, its great when people get carried away with bidding.Grin
Just wish some would bid on my listings!
