Please tell me your iui stories and journeys? Currently in 2ww.

@ODAAT260718 I'm sending you really good thoughts! I found the wait on the scan to check the follicle number the most stressful part of the process.
With us, DW is doing 6 and if that's not successful then I'll do 6 instead of her moving to IVF. She started leretrozole tablets yesterday, hopefully a cycle will happen next Thursday .

@GrettaGreen did u find it difficult to decide who went first? We decided that I would have treatment first as I am slightly older. I had another baseline scan and the follicles have stayed the same so they recommended another slight change of meds and then back in on Monday to scan. Luckily I have Monday off work, I'm not sure how much more time I can take off without telling them.

@ally99101 I'm so sorry! I missed that it didn't work. It's still only 2 and statistically the next one will have even more of a chance. I know it still sucks though

@ODAAT260718 DW is going first because she's a little older but mostly because I'm just not as bothered. I want to be a mum but tbh I think pregnancy looks like something to get through rather than enjoy.

How are you both coping with the injections? We did them wrong the first night and doubled up the dose the second night when we realised! I'm hoping that makes a difference this month 😂

@GrettaGreen my other half is sorting the injections.... I dont have a clue which ones to do when, I just get woken up to needles Feeling quite impatient tonight about not knowing whether we will continue this round.

The waiting game is awful! I'm beginning to think 90% of fertility treatment is waiting on edge to find out if something has went wrong

Hi all. Another baseline scan today, started off with the nurse saying I have 3 large follicles so treatment would need to be cancelled. Once she plotted their sizes on the graph it then changed to her checking with consultant and ringing me back. 1hr later phone call saying I can continue with this round as 2 follicles are taking the lead. What an emotional roller-coaster of a lunchtime 😳 another scan booked for Wednesday

Glad to hear you're still in the race! Wednesday won't be long coming round and then you'll know for definite where you're at.

@GrettaGreen how exciting for you both. We are still all good, scan again tomorrow and then insemination on Friday too. Will your wife have trigger shot tomorrow eve?

Yes trigger shot tomorrow evening, then IUI friday just before lunch. DW only had 2 days of FSH this time but I'm wondering if that's because the Letrozole wasn't started to day 2 this time.

@GrettaGreen its funny how our bodies react so differently to medication as I've been on the injections for 2 weeks tomorrow. My partner is so happy she gets to finally come in with me on Friday as so far I have had to go in alone. Has that been the same for you guys?

That's a crazy length! Poor you! Have you been having any side effects? DW was having awful headaches with them. I was luckily allowed in for the actual IUI last time and will be again on Friday. Other than that, DW has mostly went by herself or if I'm off, I go to keep her company on the drive. How's your partner finding things? Does she also want to be a biological parent?

@GrettaGreen I've had a few headaches but mainly up and down with emotions.... My poor girlfriend. We both have a boy each from previous relationships, she was successful with her first round of Iui with her son. I had my son with my ex husband so a completely different experience and so much more emotional. My partner is coping well and has such a lovely calming influence.

So much more emotional going through iui I mean

@GrettaGreen how did your wife's trigger shot go? How are you both feeling about tomorrow? Just found out my partner isn't allowed in tomorrow which we are both gutted about.

@ODAAT260718 aw that's lovely! It sounds like a baby would be a lovely addition to top off your wee family.
Trigger shot has been taken and all is ok. DW is killed with a headache and we're both a bit distracted but we're going to watch the new Wonder Woman on Prime and try to enjoy the evening.
Was your trigger shot ok and how are you bearing up?

Yes I completely understand feeling distracted. I'm watching some reality TV crap Trigger shot done at lunchtime ready for 12pm appointment tomorrow. Will be thinking of you both tomorrow.

@ODAAT260718 hope all went well today and you're feeling ok. Ours all went well, in and out in less than half an hour. Our appointment for the blood test will be the 1st and we've decided Dw isn't going to POAS until at least the 29th because we demented ourselves last cycle testing too early.

@GrettaGreen yes all good here. Felt quite sad that my partner couldn't come in with me though. They asked me to do P test on 31st so 16 days for us to wait. Feeling really positive and excited. Will you both be able to keep busy over the next 2 weeks?

Oh that's rubbish. We're with GCRM and they allow partners in for the IUI itself. I think we both got such a knock from the first round failing that we've went the other way this time and aren't getting our hopes up at all. We actually got told off (kindly) for being negative by the nurse for asking a question about round 3😂
The tww was very hard going the first time. We were just absolutely distracted and consumed by it. It was awful and I don't envy you. The second round has been so much easier mentally and emotionally.

@GrettaGreen that's lovely you both get to share the experience. You're up the other end of the country to me then. I had 4 people in the room with mine today.... 3 trainees Oh gosh no, don't think about round 3 already. One day at a time (says me on day 1 of 2ww ) I think come end of next week I shall be waiting to feel something.... Not sure what exactly

@GrettaGreen how are you both doing? Did you manage to keep busy over the weekend? I've been decorating so had my mind occupied for a few hrs. I've had a tummy ache for the last few days but guess that is to do with the insemination? How is your DW feeling?

Things are going good here ODAAT. DW's hips were really achey for a few days afterwards but she thinks it's side effects from the trigger shot. No symptoms yet to debate if they're standard cycle or pregnancy related. Even if they were, DW has been working nights so I've barely seen her!
Decorating is a good distraction! Especially given that there's very little else we can be doing at the minute 😂. How you feeling today?
