Anyone starting egg donation July/August?

We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

Gave the clinic a call this morning, next hurdle is a scan on 18 Nov, when I should be 8wks. Fingers crossed everything is still ok at that point.

Pingupp · 30/10/2020 13:32

How is everyone doing?
I have a scan next Friday to check my lining as the progesterone didn't make me have a bleed - sorry if tmi!
My donor has her scan next fri too - so hopefully that means egg retrieval will be done pretty soon after that and before any potential blanket lockdown.
Stay safe everyone x

Cleozeta · 30/10/2020 16:46

@Pingupp good luck at your scan. Are you still waiting for a bleed, to start cycle?

I am on cd4 now, started oestrogen, and awaiting call to arrange dates for scan and transfer. Although I think I'll have scan locally this time if I can, rather than travelling to Manchester and staying over!
Really worried about lockdown happening before transfer, I really hope it doesn't.

Sunbird24 · 30/10/2020 17:07

@Pingupp hope all goes well with your scan and they’ve managed to synch you up with your donor for a smooth transfer.

@Cleozeta staying local wherever you can sounds sensible.

Fingers crossed everyone manages to get where you need to cycle-wise before any further restrictions cause you problems!

Cleozeta · 30/10/2020 23:44

So it's been announced there will be a lockdown for a month starting Wednesday. Fuck.
Do you think they will close the clinics again?

Sunbird24 · 31/10/2020 05:10

I’d hope if it’s got an end date on it then they’ll be able to keep them open, at least for people who are already in the process of treatment. I’ve got everything crossed for you.

Cleozeta · 31/10/2020 07:40

Man, I really hope so, or we'll be looking at January. Nearly 44, getting too old Sad

tikha · 31/10/2020 13:43

still waiting for AF here so at this rate looks like will have to wait till jan..

Pingupp · 31/10/2020 18:01

@Cleozeta I am 46 in jan - you aren't too old.

Waiting for Boris to announce what's going on and praying our clinics are not affected.
Hugs all round ladies.xx

Cleozeta · 31/10/2020 22:58

I've heard from a few places that the clinics shouldn't close this time, and they are better prepared, so fingers crossed. My challenge is also getting across the country on public transport, so it's not straight forward! Also we were supposed to be moving house this month, which could be scuppered, and it's my son's birthday this month too. A lot of plans potentially wrecked.
Transfer booked for 17th, I just hope it can happen.

tikha · 01/11/2020 16:05

@Cleozeta heard the same..

All the BFPs on this board is making me more hopeful that it can work second time around..

Cleozeta · 01/11/2020 21:24

@tikha let's hope! Smile

Pingupp · 03/11/2020 13:55

My clinic is staying open - so pleased- hope yours are staying open too. I just want to get the eggs retrieved and fertilised quick. Fingers crossed.
I was going to tell my parents in Nov face to face when we visited but now not going. Not sure it's a conversation to have over Skype! What do you all think ladies? Xx

Cleozeta · 06/11/2020 16:57

@Pingupp maybe wait for face to face? Hopefully we'll be done with this lockdown on 2nd Dec, so not too far away.
So pleased the clinics are staying open. I have a scan locally next Tuesday to check lining, then if all good, will be travelling to Manchester on 17th for transfer. Fingers crossed!

On another note, has anyone else had any weird dreams about having a baby that is totally different from you, like different ethnicity etc? I have had loads, no idea why! Maybe the egg donation aspect is playing on my mind.

How are you all?

Pingupp · 08/11/2020 18:51

@Cleozeta not had any weird dreams- yet.... 17th will soon be here- that is very exciting!! How do you feel? X
I am thinking about ours a
lot but trying to keep busy. Seeing babies and pregnant everywhere I look. Doing my head in now as I feel myself getting carried away. The longing for a baby has ramped up for sure.
Our donor has been put on a long protocol so retrieval isn't going to be W/c 7th Dec.
My scan was ok but as I am still not having a bleed after taking progesterone - got the doc contacting me next week. Hope they can sort me out soon so our transfer is pretty straightforward. Hopefully still aiming for mid jan.
Hope everyone is doing ok x

Cleozeta · 08/11/2020 22:16

@Pingupp how exciting. Its good to have a plan, and dates in mind to work towards. It's hard waiting when we can think of nothing else. It feels so long since our last attempt, each try seems a lifetime away!
I am excited, but also nervous, and as I am getting older month by month I start questioning if its the right thing to do. But I think it's just wobbles. We've been trying for almost 4 years, I'm not ready to give up quite yet, but as it's so long between attempts we've decided to draw a line if these current paid for cycles don't work.

Pingupp · 09/11/2020 11:16

@Cleozeta fingers crossed there are no other cycles and this time it works :-)

We are just going for the 1 shot - as I am 46 in Jan - don't really want this dragging out any longer. God I hope it works .....

Mother Nature can be a bitch!!

Take it easy for now x

Cleozeta · 09/11/2020 12:04

Fingers crossed for you @Pingupp

tikha · 09/11/2020 20:51

Hey @Cleozeta going for baseline scan this Thursday. @Pingupp january is very close. Am in two minds about this. Considering whether to delay or not because of covid but think likely gonna go ahead

Pingupp · 09/11/2020 22:29

@tikha what is a baseline scan? I should know but not up with all the details yet!

Pleaseletitbeme · 10/11/2020 19:52

Good to see everyone’s developments.
I’m in limbo waiting for my period then we can use up the other shite embryo,

Pingupp · 12/11/2020 09:35

Got my timeline for my plan today.
Scan on 20th and then trial month starts on 21st - drugs will arrive next week.
Estimated transfer date 6th Jan if all goes to plan with lining etc.
Getting real now and a bit scary!
How are you all doing? X

Cleozeta · 12/11/2020 11:35

@Pingupp that's great! Jan will come around soon enough, how exciting.

I had my lining scan on Tuesday, all went well, so starting progesterone today and transfer will be next Tuesday.

Pingupp · 12/11/2020 12:56

@Cleozeta how do you feel? Have you done anything differently this time? X

Cleozeta · 12/11/2020 13:38

No changes, the set up is the same as first round, same meds etc.
Feeling OK at the moment, just glad things are happening again, and we are still able to go ahead through lockdown.

How about you?
