We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

Cleozeta, thanks for your msg and the info. I'm so very sorry to read your news. Life is very cruel. I really hope everything goes ok for you on your next try.

Ladies - they have found us a match but I am wondering if the blood type is gonna be an issue?
Donor is A Rh Positive - we are both 0+ and no problem with it being different but that is a rare one isn't it?
She is 31 - donated once and that recipient is pregnant at the moment. Donor had 1 child.
Omg the pressure of knowing what to do is kicking in. Any thoughts or words of wisdom??
Thanks all.
Xx

tikha · 02/10/2020 08:11

@Pingupp as long as you are resus positive and both husband and donor positive so should be ok. This article is useful pved.org/bloodtype.php but worth speaking directly to your clinic

Pingupp · 02/10/2020 08:25

@tikha thanks -I will double check with them.

Pingupp · 03/10/2020 13:08

We have said yes to the donor - so now the process starts.
We have blood tests next week.
Maybe by Xmas it will be done?
Hope you are all ok and having a nice weekend. X

Cleozeta · 03/10/2020 13:53

Great news @Pingupp fingers crossed for you!

We had our follow up meeting with the clinic yesterday, they are happy for me to go ahead again next cycle, no changes to medication. Just waiting now and hoping current natural cycles goes smoothly, so we can crack on.

Anyone else starting again soon?

@pleaseletitbeme how are things going?

Pleaseletitbeme · 04/10/2020 00:01

Thank you Sunbird! Xxx

Cleozeta · 04/10/2020 08:18

@Pleaseletitbeme 6 is great! From that you should definitely end up with some in the freezer. Although hopefully you won't need them, as statistically we are due a success on this thread!

Good luck for Tuesday, exciting times.

@tikha fingers crossed for next time!

Cleozeta · 04/10/2020 08:21

@Leala20 how are you doing?

tikha · 04/10/2020 15:52

@Hopeandlight apologies hadnt noticed your query earlier. Sounds like you have been through a lot but donor eggs is a good option statistically. Very few countries show the faces of donors. Maybe places like Ukraine but the regulations potentially are lax. Also if you have a picture of the face there is no anonymity for the donor and you can google search which wont be fair. Coordinators are usually very good at matching your characteristics. Uk is pretty good as you can normally get an idea of the hobbies and interests of the donor (whatever they are willing to share) and you will get matched on characteristics. There is always a bit of a compromise. For example my partner and me are a mixed couple and have unique features so we already know perhaps any potential donor child may not look like us. We connected with the donor based on her story. The other plus about UK is that your child could can potentially meet the donor when he or she is 18. This is in contrast to somewhere like Spain or Czech. Its worth having some counselling which the clinic which my dh and me found really useful as a couple. I might be mistaken but altrui in UK might share baby photos of donor.

Hopeandlight · 04/10/2020 16:54

tikha thanks for sharing your story and info.

Reassured to hear you connected to your donor based on her story. We'll definitely be looking for that, the right feeling.

Re Altrui have looked at their website and I contacted them and received documents by email. However on reading the docs it's not as appealing as it appears on their website.

I hope you're successful with your donor.

Hi guys,
Sorry I went mute for a while. Was crazy busy with move to another flat and work. Things went by quickly for me with the treatment. We had 8 out of 12 fertilized and 6 of them where doing well day 3. Tomorrow is a big day - transfer. So hopefully we will get a few nice blastocyst.

Cleozeta · 04/10/2020 22:34

@ksusha20 wow that has come around quickly! Good news on your fertilised eggs. Best of luck for tomorrow!

Sunbird24 · 04/10/2020 23:05

@ksusha20 fabulous fertilisation, well done! Hope tomorrow goes well 🤞

tikha · 06/10/2020 07:19

@Hopeandlight i went with LWC in the end for no special reason apart from convenience of a frozen database but there is one in Manchester as well

tikha · 06/10/2020 07:21

@Pleaseletitbeme hope it goes well today
@ksusha20 good to hear from you and excited for you.

tikha · 06/10/2020 07:27

@Sunbird24 you must be getting close to ec. Good luck with that

Sunbird24 · 06/10/2020 07:37

@tikha confirmed for tomorrow morning, did my trigger shot last night so enjoying a needle-free day today!

ksusha20 · 06/10/2020 08:53

@Sunbird24 good luck tomorrow.

So we have got 5 blastocysts , one of which was transferred yesterday.
Blood test on October 16th. Will try to stay busy to get the feeling that time flies quick :)

ksusha20 · 06/10/2020 08:56

@Pleaseletitbeme I believe you have transfer today. The best of luck and wish you have more embies in the freezer in case you need. But hope you won’t unless you go for the sibling 😉
