So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

@Waiting2BAMummy @LanieM87 I'm praying for our Xmas miracles 🤞🏽🙏🏽

GreatestShowUnicorn · 30/10/2019 16:47

Argh my donor has gone awol 😢

Waiting2BAMummy · 30/10/2019 19:37

Oh no @GreatestShowUnicorn I had that happen to me the day he was supposed to visit. When are you supposed to be inseminating? Do you have time to find someone else for this month?

OP posts:
GreatestShowUnicorn · 30/10/2019 21:14

Got him but he's not available tonight hopefully I won't get peak before tomorrow! I know I ovulate very quickly after peak so ideally need insemination before peak and I keep missing that.

Waiting2BAMummy · 30/10/2019 22:24

Good luck @GreatestShowUnicorn

Waiting2BAMummy · 01/11/2019 19:13

How is everyone doing?

@GreatestShowUnicorn did you get your positive opk? I hope you managed to inseminate first.

Pinkfamily · 03/11/2019 08:14

Hi @Waiting2BAMummy is it today your donor is visiting? I'm going to sort out paperwork etc with SellmerDiers today to come for next weekend (positive OPK should be Sun/Mon)
How are you doing @LanieM87
@TimeIhadaNameChange are you feeling any movement yet?
@GreatestShowUnicorn did you get a donation?

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/11/2019 11:41

Hi @Pinkfamily, yes he’s due to visit today although I haven’t even got a flashing smiley yet let alone a static. That said, I have been drinking quite a lot of water rather late so my urine has been a really light colour so maybe that’s throwing it off. Going to try not to drink so late today.

If I do get my positive late I will be ovulating at the end of the week too! I think @LanieM87 is due around that time too so we definItely will all be going through the TWW together.

Hope you managed to get your donation in before your positive opk @GreatestShowUnicorn.

LanieM87 · 03/11/2019 16:22

Hi ladies.

Yeah we should all have similar 2WW this month! I'm not due to ovulate until a week Tuesday though. Think I'm gunna get my delivery for next Monday and then that gives me a good few days to get my positive. I bloody well hope!

Good luck to all!!

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/11/2019 16:26

Fingers crossed ladies!

Although, I haven’t heard from my donor about what he’s visiting today. Usually he messages on the day and I don’t like chasing. If I haven’t heard from him by 6pm I might drop him a text as he might have forgotten though that’s most unlike him.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Mumsnet.

Myself and my wife are TTC for the first time with a donor via a fertility clinic (myself carrying).

I had my first IUI on Friday, now for the TWW 😬😬😬 praying it works first time but being realist that it may not. So hard not to pick up a pregnancy test 🤣

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/11/2019 16:53

Welcome to the madness @VNAWENN!

Honestly, I hear you on the wanting to test front and you absolutely what’s right for you. However, I would definitely recommend not testing until after AF is late. This is for several reasons firstly trust me (and I’m sure the other ladies will back me up) if it doesn’t work (obviously were all hoping it does) AF arriving is a lot easier to take than constantly seeing stark white pregnancy tests. Secondly, you may or may not be aware of the term chemical pregnancy? This is when the egg is fertilised but fails to implant properly and you experience a very early miscarriage around the time AF would have been due. If you don’t test early you would never have known you were pregnant to start with and would assume this was just a AF being late. Before the creation of tests that allowed you to test 6 days before missed AF this heartache didn’t exist. For me TTC is hard enough without having to go through that too.

Good luck and fingers crossed you’re one of the lucky ones for whom it does work first time.

VNAWENN · 03/11/2019 17:39

@Waiting2BAMummy thank you 😊 I will resist the urge to test (scouts honour) 🤣 good luck to everyone TTC at the moment xx

VNAWENN · 03/11/2019 17:44

@Waiting2BAMummy also, have you found yourself making a baby amazon list already! I swear this TTC malarkey sends me bonkers! There is not any need to plan anything other than the pregnancy at the moment but I find myself watching birthing YouTube videos and planning what supplies to get! 🤦🏼‍♀️

juneybean · 03/11/2019 17:45

Hello lovely ladies, hope you dont mind me posting here, but I have some soft cups and one step opk strip tests free to a good home, been trying to get rid of them for months. Sadly I'm diagnosed infertile so my home insemination journey came to an end back in May! Good luck to you all x

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/11/2019 18:02

Well if you’re bonkers @VNAWENN I’m gonna go get myself committed immediately!! I am doing this alone and I don’t have any family to rely on so I already have pretty much everything. No, I’m not kidding!! My spare room looks like a mothercare outlet complete with Moses basket, Baby bath, cot, clothes, nappies, car seat, pram etc.

I know I’ve been extremely premature however I bought all the expensive stuff before I started trying as once I get pregnant I will be having to save to support us while I’m on maternity leave and I couldn’t afford to have to buy stuff and save so I bought it! It’s both a blessing and a curse to have it sat there.

So you look away, you’re not hurting anyone and it’s all knowledge you’re going to need when it does work!

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 03/11/2019 18:04

Sorry to hear that @juneybean I’ve literally just bought a box of soft cups but if I run out and you still have them I’ll gladly take them off your hands x

OP posts:
VNAWENN · 03/11/2019 18:10

@juneybean I'm so sorry that it hasn't worked out for you xxx

@Waiting2BAMummy thank you for the much needed vote of confidence in my YouTube search history 🤣🤣🤣🤣

And in regards to buying everything early I commend you! If your doing it alone a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! Xx

(Plus I'm jealous as I secretly wish I could buy everything now but the other is dead set against it 🤣)

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/11/2019 18:47

It is one less thing to worry about @VNAWENN although it’s also hard when this is my 10th month of actively trying and I still can’t use any of that stuff! It will be far more exciting buying it when you can actually use it.

There’s nothing to stop you doing your research though, there are so many different types of car seat, prams, baby monitors etc. xx

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/11/2019 18:58

My donor had forgotten so he’s visiting tomorrow instead! I am a little upset but he’s been a rockstar so I can’t really complain. Besides I don’t have any signs that ovulation is imminent so it’s not the end of the world.

OP posts:
TimeIhadaNameChange · 04/11/2019 10:38

@Waiting2BAMummy - so sorry to hear he forgot yesterday, though it may end up being a blessing in disguise if there's no sign of ovulation, and he comes a day later this time. Once again, good luck!

@Pinkfamily - I've been feeling definite movement for a couple of weeks now. Before there it was a bit 'was that or wasn't that' but now there's no question of what I'm feeling. I thought I'd think it was strange, but it just feels natural. To begin with I'd only feel it when lying on my back, genenerally in the evening, but last week I decided I should really spend time at my desk again, and I end up feeling quite a lot of movement then, too. The movement's not strong enough for DP to feel yet, though, but I'm sure it won't be long.

We heard the heartbeat when seeing the midwife on Friday. Now that was surreal! But it's lovely to know that, as far as we can tell, all is going well in there.

Waiting2BAMummy · 04/11/2019 22:17

Thanks @TimeIhadaNameChange so glad things are going well for you. How far gone are you now? You give me hope that this really can work x

Fingers firmly crossed for you too x

@Waiting2BAMummy thanks 😊 I'm currently CD18, 4DPO. I've had some strange sensations/symptoms but trying not to read much into it until I do a test in about 9 days 🙄
