Timing sounds great closephine! Fingers crossed!

I get mittelschmertz and can tell which side I'm ovulating from but I can't pinpoint the moment of ovulation. Had more EWCM today though so hopefully haven't ovulated yet!

TinyPaws · 11/07/2018 09:23

And thanks bear, somehow missed your post!

@SallyA1 Which clinic is that? My AMH is 7 and the consultant recommended several cycles of medicated IUI before trying IVF. I haven't started treatment yet so have no idea what the right thing to do is, but it seems odd that they have such different recommendations. Thanks

@SallyA1 It's a bit sad if he's right about private clinics taking the money regardless, although you'd hope they wouldn't because of reputational damage if that happened and got out.

I'm aiming to get all my pre-tests done (aqua scan and possibly hycosy) before Christmas and then start treatment in the new year. I need to find a new job first so want to be there a few months at least before sneaking out for treatment. I just hope that's not leaving it too late - like you I thought low AMH (again low for my age (34)) just meant hurrying up a bit.

AnotherGin · 11/07/2018 19:27

Out of interest how much is IUI with the NHS clinic?

@SallyA1 my amh was 9 and I got pregnant on 2nd attempt with medicated iui

@Ttc2017 I'm so happy for your sweetie

Good luck everyone x

AnotherGin · 11/07/2018 20:06

1 in 20 😩

The clinic I'm looking at is about £2,000 for medicated IUI including drugs and a donor. I have no idea what their IVF costs are but I suspect easily in excess of £6,000.

Ah, that sucks SallyA1

Clinic have only gone and bloody booked me a "where do we go from here" appointment on my official test date - assuming this cycle doesn't work! I thought they would let me have another round of IUI after this one but it sounds like that won't be the case. But they've also invoiced me already for the next IUI cycle so I'm well confused. Keeping everything crossed I get pregnant this cycle as I really don't want to go to that appointment.

1dpo here and time is crawling. Got nausea and sore boobs but I know that's just from the trigger shot.

This is my 3rd but I conceived on IUI #2 then miscarried. My clinic doesn't normally do more than 3 IUIs as after the 3rd per-cycle odds of conception drop dramatically but I thought they'd let me do another couple as I did actually conceive and miscarriage rates are pretty much the same with IUI and IVF so I don't see how IVF would help?

Other than over-analysing every possible symptom? I'm going to Legoland Windsor on Saturday so that should keep me out of mischief for a bit!

closephine85 · 12/07/2018 21:49

That’s odd Tiny as I was told differently - we only bought three straws in the end but were told to do six as there’s a cumulative effect so your odds are 10% per cycle but increase as they go on and you’d end up with a 60% chance of success if you do six rounds. Confused

Also agree that as you conceived you know it can work for you so don’t know why they wouldn’t do more?!

Bear1980 · 13/07/2018 09:32

I am sure they will be open to you trying another cycle tiny if thats what you want to do. They maybe just want to make sure you are aware of all the options. Hoping you won't need to worry about it and get positive this round.

Enjoy legoland, my nephew is desperate to go.

TinyPaws · 13/07/2018 10:36

Weird that you've had different advice from your clinic closephine!

I really don't want to have to go to that appointment because the nurse it's with is (no nice way to say this) really annoying and I know she will properly wind me up! I'm not sure I can take it if I've just had a bfn and got PMT as well.

Mandy002 · 13/07/2018 15:06

@TinyPaws I would have thought they would give you a bit of time to process before asking you to attend a what next appoint! Best of luck with it all.
My transfer is booked in for Tuesday and I fly out tomorrow morning so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

LRDtheFeministDragon · 15/07/2018 22:43

Hi all!

I dropped off the threads for a while, but, button, this is great news! How exciting.

ttc, congratulations! I am so glad for you.

Mandy002 · 16/07/2018 07:09

Nice to see you back @LRDtheFeministDragon. How are you? I'm in Greece at the moment awaiting transfer. Have had no bleeding this time so that has got to be a good sign. Only time will tell.

closephine85 · 16/07/2018 07:54

Are you with Serum Mandy? We had our 2 rounds there. Good luck with your transfer!

Mandy002 · 16/07/2018 08:54

No at embryolab in Thessaloniki. Been once in February BFP. Now trying again as last time didn't stick. Transfer is tomorrow so 🤞🏻

closephine85 · 16/07/2018 15:52

Fingers crossed for you Mandy!

Had my progesterone bloods today - it’s 116 so pretty high. I wasn’t expecting it to be as my boobs aren’t hurting like they have in past months so was quite surprised when it was that high! I’m 6dpo today so still got quite a bit of waiting to do!

Mandy002 · 16/07/2018 16:11

Thanks @closephine85 . Does the progesterone being high mean good things? Mine was really crap last time I think it was 30 something which is why they have switched me to injections this time. So that it actually absorbs. How much longer until u can test?

closephine85 · 16/07/2018 17:39

I think all it really means is that I ovulated and don’t need any extra support. It’s been high on both my other cycles and they didn’t come to anything. I think also each follicle releases progesterone so if you have more than one your levels will be higher.
