Mandy hope you hear back from the clinic soon.

Smith you’re nearly through! For me each day feels like about a week!

Mandy002 · 12/02/2018 18:10

Thanks all for your support. The clinic have emailed and said it's common and not to worry but to let them know if there is anything else. I'm assuming they mean if it doesn't stop. Which thankfully it seems to have for the time being. Thanks again and sorry about the panic posting mid-day 😬

pickle162 · 12/02/2018 18:37

Glad they got back to you Mandy 😊keeping everything crossed that af stays away

Eek @Smithguy86 looking really promising

Smithguy86 · 12/02/2018 19:21

Tinypaws sorry I forgot to say earlier sorry that your mum isn't being more supportive it must be hard!

Really not feeling optimistic I think the bfp must be from the ovitrelle! Feels like AF is definitely on her way, or is it normal to feel cramps? They aren't as bad as AF but in the same area!

pickle162 · 12/02/2018 20:05

I had cramps week 4&5 (so this week and next week)

Sorry tiny is there anyone else that you could confide in to have some more support that your mum doesn't feel able to do?
I didn't even tell my parents as didn't feel she would be supportive and would go on about money (which has proved to be correct) she has NO clue how much it cost and mine was quite low of around £6k -she thinks I spent nearer the £2k in total.

TinyPaws · 12/02/2018 20:33

Mandy glad it's good news.

Smith I think cramps are quite normal. Someone my girlfriend works with is unintentionally pregnant and she said she had all the symptoms of PMT including cramps, except the period never came.

Thanks Smith and pickle. My girlfriend is being super supportive (as well she should as she will be a legal parent!). I've told one friend, a few acquaintances from that friend's social circle, and my boss (due to necessity, not for support). Might drop that friend a message. Might also tell my dad at some point as he's more chill than my mum and loves babies, but think I need to give it a while.

Sorry your parents haven't been more supportive pickle. I'm hoping mine will come round.

pickle162 · 12/02/2018 21:41

Parents are fine now, they are very excited for bubs to come but mum is obsessed that I won't be able to pay mortgage and I'll become homeless. Dad is much more chilled :)
Really helpful for boss to know, I found this invaluable. My boss is my friend too but just for how I had to swap things about when second cycle was longer than it should so had to have more scans etc.it would have been soooo difficult with my job and having my own patients to not have boss knowing

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/02/2018 21:49

tiny, that's awful about your mum. Do you know why?

If it's any help at all, DP's mum was really not very positive about us trying, either. DD is now 10 months and she has come around. Before, she was just in shock, I think, because she had made up her mind that, since DP was 35 and a lesbian, children were out of the question.

TinyPaws · 12/02/2018 22:18

LRD That does help, I think my mum is similar. She's a big worrier. She deals with it by going into denial about the thing that's stressing her out. I had to come out to her about 6 times as she kept convincing herself it wasn't really real and every time I go on a ski holiday she freaks out that I'm going to break a leg. She can't seem to compute the idea of me having a baby by choice outside of an opposite-sex marriage.

My boss has been really helpful letting me attend appointments in work time. I even went for my IUI in the middle of a working day, went to work before and after!

In other news, the cat is poorly. I've set up a litter tray for her as need to check if she's weeing and pooing. There's nobody else here to clean the tray so will wear gloves and be super scrupulous about handwashing just in case.

Hopefully she's just eaten something that doesn't agree with her, the darn critter is wheat intolerant and I'm sure the neighbours feed her sometimes. If she doesn't perk up soon I foresee an expensive trip to the vet in the near future.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 12/02/2018 22:24

Grin Oh, I can so much relate! I (mis)spent my teenage years failing to convince my dad I might be gay, and when I finally met DP (after a rather circuitous route ...) aged 31, he was genuinely shocked and surprised because 'I naturally assumed it was a phase'.

DP getting pregnant really sent him into a spin, because he could relate to her, just about, when he convinced himself she was more or less a strange kind of bloke who happened to look female. But the pregnancy really was a challenge.

MIL is more like your mum in focussing on the fact we're not in an opposite-sex marriage (in fact we're not married at all). She can't get her head around the idea that I'm 'mum' too.

It's a strange and slightly lonely thing trying to have a baby in a lesbian relationship, but this thread is the best place to be while you're doing it!

TinyPaws · 12/02/2018 22:28

Haha our parent should be friends LRD! Sounds like they've got a lot in common!

pickle162 · 13/02/2018 16:15

Anymore af symptoms @Mandy002?

@Smithguy86 still bfp on tests? Best of luck for your blood test tomorrow

Mandy002 · 13/02/2018 17:53

@pickle162 thanks for asking but no not at the minute 🤞🏻 that will be it. My legs are sore today though...not sure what that is but it certainly isn't exercise! Didn't have time to catch my breath yesterday let alone go for a walk. Hope you're well. Looking forward to finishing work 😜👶🏻

pickle162 · 13/02/2018 18:31

That's good I'm pleased :) 🤞

I'm ok, more and more tired everyday but 2 weeks left till finish all my clinics then only a couple of meetings to attend in March so nearly there :)

Smithguy86 · 13/02/2018 19:01

Still bfp this morning pickle tho I have been having bad period like cramps and pain in my lower back all day so I don't know what to think! It really feels like AF is coming but then I read that a lot of women feel like this but I'm not feeling very positive! I'll know by lunch time tomorrow hopefully!

pickle162 · 13/02/2018 19:08

Really hoping all ok Smith less than 24hours and you'll know x

Smithguy86 · 13/02/2018 19:13

Thanks pickle I know not much longer to go until the uncertainty is over!

TinyPaws · 13/02/2018 19:31

Good luck for tomorrow Smith! Keeping everything crossed for you!

Not much to report here, the cat is still poorly, had an emergency vets trip today and got to go back in 48 hours so my wallet has been taking a hammering recently.

I'm halfway through the longest 2 weeks ever, having a few weird symptoms but not sure if it's the stims and trigger I took earlier in my cycle or just my over-active imagination!

Ttc2017 · 13/02/2018 19:52

Good luck tomorrow Smith fingers and toes crossed for u! X

Smithguy86 · 13/02/2018 20:08

Thanks everyone you are all very kind!

Currently sitting with a heat pad on my tummy lol, done another two tests both bfp! I cannot wait to know for definite!

Mandy002 · 14/02/2018 06:46

Good luck today @Smithguy86 🤞🏻for you

Smithguy86 · 14/02/2018 07:01

Thanks Mandy on my way to get bloods taken now!!

pickle162 · 14/02/2018 07:55

Eeeekkk good luck! So excited for you

Smithguy86 · 14/02/2018 09:31

Just got to wait on the phone call now!! Pee test this mornin was a strong positive line still no sign of AF so fingers crossed!!

Pez82 · 14/02/2018 10:16

Smith, looking promising! Fingers crossed for you. I had bad AF cramps until nearly week 7 and then they reduced, they were quite painful at times. They did feel exactly the same as AF so I think it's a positive symptom in your case 😊
