Thanks wonky, I know you just torture yourself with every little thing that you think may be a sign but it's so hard not to do!

Yea I'd say it's just the ovitrelle I'm not considering the positive as anything other than that! Yea I think we will prob just test every day to see if the line gets fainter or darker! We have to go for bloods at the clinic next Wednesday they told us there wasn't any point in testing before then but I'm just very impatient lol!

Pez82 · 08/02/2018 06:29

I risk to sound extremely patronising but I see some of you test extremely early and knowing how heart breaking the BFNs are I thought I would chip in.

Fertilised eggs have to travel down the tubes and do not reach the uterus until they are at least 5-6 days old, at which point they need to hatch and find a place to attach to the uterine wall, which can take another few days. It's only at this point that HCG is produced and transmitted via the uterine wall and it takes a couple of days for levels to be high enough to be detected on a HCG test (FRER being the most sensitive picking up levels as low at 6).

So realistically any test before 10DPIUI is going to be BFN and even then I would recommend holding until at least 11 or 12 days to avoid unnecessary heartbreak.

Be strong and hold on a bit longer if you can ladies, the TWW is absolute torture, time literally stops and that's all you can think about but you'll get there. I promise 😉

Best of luck to you all. I'm still following your stories while awake during night feeds!

Hi all, thought I’d stop by, I’m 14 was today, but it’s not all plain sailing, I found out that I lost on of the twins last week, so it’s a single baby pregnancy now. Still, lots to be thankful for.

ttc just to query, why did you stop taking folic? In many countries it’s actually added to things like bread to ensure everyone gets enough of it. I took it for 2yrs while ttc, so I’m wondering if I missed some research or something, as I will continue to take it till I’m full term. Please tell me! Thanks!

Others in tww, I’m all for early testing(!) however I was always careful to wait until the earliest viable date after ivf transfer of 5 day old embryos, so that was 4-6dp5dt. I figured Bfns are hard enough after all, no point setting myself up for failure! Good luck all!

StorkAhoy · 08/02/2018 18:26

14wks not 14was!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 08/02/2018 18:35

I'm so very to hear that, stork. Lots of love.

TinyPaws · 08/02/2018 19:02

So sorry @Stork. It must have been very hard for you to hear that. Congrats on 14 weeks, hope things go smoothly for you from here on in.

Tiny vs the 2WW: 2 days down, 12 to go. I've picked up a bug and am feeling rubbish. Swinging between being utterly convinced I've conceived and utterly convinced I haven't. Keeping everything crossed that one of the 7.7 million little swimmers they put in has done the job.

Smithguy86 · 08/02/2018 19:34

I'm really sorry to hear that stoke, I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly!

I'm exactly the same tinypaws one minute I'm convinced it's worked the next I definitely think it hasn't! 8 days down 6 to go! Praying for the bfp!

pickle162 · 08/02/2018 21:51

Folic acid in pregnancy (& as early as possible leading up to this, ideally 3months minimum) is really important in prevent birth defects such a spina bifida
Vitamin D is also very important to be taking for baby development

Hope tww goes quick for everyone.

😘@StorkAhoy

Smithguy86 · 09/02/2018 07:43

Has anyone experienced nose bleeds during the two week wait? I have had two now work up during the night to my nose bleeding! I haven't had a nose bleed since I was a child and was just wondering if this was something anyone else has experienced?

Wonky35 · 09/02/2018 09:36

Afraid I don’t have any idea about the nose bleeds smith. Not something I experienced. It might be worth looking at the literature that came with any drugs you are on as there are always weird side effects listed there!

I’m really sorry to hear about the twin stork. I’m sure the mixed emotions must be really tough. X

Mandy002 · 09/02/2018 17:09

@StorkAhoy so sorry to her about the twin. I hope you're feeling ok and fingers crossed for a smooth sailing pregnancy from here on in.

Mandy002 · 09/02/2018 17:12

Just had my pre FET scan this morning and was really please that my lining is 8.5mm already and still a week to go. The cyst is still hanging in there but the consultant said it's on the outside of the ovary so insignificant to pregnancy...she did however show it to me on the screen and it's massive! So flights and hotels booked ✈️🎉🙏🏻

Latenightreader · 09/02/2018 19:52

Here's a silly concern - I've lost the pregnancy test the clinic gave me! Not due to test for a good few days, but suddenly remembered I hadn't taken it out of my bag and it isn't there... I'm going to have a good tidy up over the weekend, but what are the odds that it will emerge out of the blue at a suitably inappropriate moment?

I have some internet cheapies and a Boots digital that expired in December, so if I don't find it I'll be slinking out to buy tests next week. Do you think I have Borrowers? Borrowers who are ttc?

Latenightreader · 09/02/2018 19:54

Oh goodness I've just posted something really flippant and then read Stork's update. I am so sorry to hear about your twin. Hope you have a straight forward time going forward.

pickle162 · 09/02/2018 20:08

Ooh Mandy that's fab news! Where are you having it done again?

Late sure it'll turn up :) my preg test from the clinic was less sensitive so about 25 rather than frer which is about 6. Do your clinics do blood tests to confirm as well? If your clinic is nearby I would be inclined to just ring or email and ask for another :)

Mandy002 · 09/02/2018 20:24

Thanks @pickle162 . I'm getting really excited/hopeful now. I'm going to embryolab in Thessaloniki Greece.

pickle162 · 09/02/2018 20:38

Ooh very nice, I wouldn't mind a little trip to Greece right now. When is fet planned for?

Mandy002 · 09/02/2018 20:55

They said the 22nd. Lining should be nice and thick by then. Now I just have to figure out if 1 or 2 embryos is best. Any thoughts? How are things with you?

TinyPaws · 09/02/2018 22:08

Oooh that’s exciting Mandy!

Latenightreader Haha borrowers! They will probably give it back at a deeply inconvenient momen! When are you due to test? Sorry I’ve totally lost track!

pickle162 · 10/02/2018 17:44

Ooh tricky one Mandy obviously higher risk of multiples with having 2. I didn't have to make that decision. Has your clinic given you any guidance?
I'm ok thanks, had my last antenatal class today so seems all a bit more real. Only 12.5 working days left & just over 8 weeks till she is due

Mandy002 · 10/02/2018 20:35

@pickle162 I bet you're getting excited at the prospect of finishing work. The thought of multiples is a bit daunting but it's weighing up if the extra percentage is worth the chance. The only thing that worries me really about multiples is the cost of childcare. Why did you not get the choice if you don't mind me asking? The clinic was in touch on Friday and said on the day of transfer not to use anything smelly as the embies are sensitive and don't like it. They said no scented soap, deodorant, fabric softener, shampoo or perfume. It's got me questioning if I messed things up the last time as I had a shower on the morning of the transfer and used all my regular stuff. 😬

Mandy002 · 10/02/2018 20:37

@pickle162 sorry forgot to say the clinic said to have a think as I'm single but haven't said anything beyond that. I'm going to ask them when I see them face to face what they think.

Mandy002 · 10/02/2018 20:39

Does anyone have any idea what is keeping my period away whilst I'm on progynova? I'm starting to get worried that with no progesterone till the week before FET it might arrive and mess things up.

Mandy002 · 10/02/2018 20:40

Thanks @TinyPaws I hope you are doing well too.

pickle162 · 10/02/2018 21:01

I did iui so they don't put any eggs back in, it's just what I grow follicles wise. My clinic don't let you do iui if there is more than 2 dominant follicles( ie 2 eggs likely to be released) due to risk of multiples. The first iui I had 2 follicles, the second only one

You can't think like that, the chances of any pregnancy is low so very unlikely anything you did. But definitely follow the advice from the clinic as they give it for a reason. My clinic advised the same thing, I just used an unscented baby wipe on day of iui, some clinics don't advise anything

I didn't have progynova so can't help
