StorkAhoy · 13/06/2017 21:07

I'm sorry angliski xx

TreasureInMyTummy · 13/06/2017 22:48

Angiski so sorry to hear about your iui. Be kind to yourself the next couple of weeks and make sure you have 'that person ' you can cry to if you need to xxxx

Bear best of luck, I've got my fingers crossed for you xx

CautionHormone · 13/06/2017 23:08

Oh Angliski, I'm so sorry... I know no words will help right now, but make sure to take care of you Flowers

Yay Bear! OTD your birthday?! That's great, and has to be a good omen, right?! I'll have everything crossed for a quick TWW too :)

CautionHormone · 13/06/2017 23:09

3 days to go (well, only two full days - Thursday & Friday!) until my consult Grin actually soooo excited, after two and a half years it's finally here!!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 13/06/2017 23:22

Do you think I'd be daft to ring my GP in the morning? Clinic said they were referring me to the NHS with this cyst on the ovary. Since then it's been hurting like hell - I thought it was the scan but it's clearly not. They said I should expect to be seen 'fast' on the NHS. I don't know what that means and don't want to push, but am nervous. I rang the NHS department who've been investigating me for recurrent miscarriage today, thinking perhaps I was meant to do that (the clinic said it couldn't do any harm). They said no, my GP would refer me.

It's been a week now and I'm freaking out with all these stories of people with necrotic ovaries and so on. Plus I've seen the letter the clinic sent to my GP and it's missing my NHS number, it's written as if it's about my partner (whose NHS number is included), and it is addressed to 'doctor'. So I have worries it's lying around unopened as it's not got any actual doctor's name on it.

Am I being daft? What on earth do I say to the GP if I do ring up, without sounding really entitled?

Karendvm · 14/06/2017 00:31

lrd I think you have very valid concerns. When I had my cyst I did a fair amount of obsessive reading. There is a real risk or torsion and I think you have every right to insist on being seen asap. Keep pushing. It truely seems like we need to be very vocal when it comes to our own health.

angliski truely sorry. I know the disappointment. I went bat shit crazy after my bfn. It kinda surprised me.

caution I'm glad your day is finally here. I hope your consult goes well.

bear fingers crossed.

pickle162 · 14/06/2017 06:04

LRD definitely ring your dr to chase, especially as the details are incorrect. Don't worry about the dear dr bit, what happens when any letters get sent is usually the receptionist will open and they will put any requests to the duty dr, so it doesn't matter who your dr is the one who is rostered on that day is who deals with most requests....
also a week in Gp land isn't much, it would need to get to them, they open it, they look you up, then they need some minutes to refer (altho in my experience they vaguely fill out the referral and would attach the letter from your clinic-saying please read attached) then it has to get to the place for them to triage etc so would expect anything before 2 weeks without "encouraging" them along

Ring them up and say you are

  • concerned about incorrect NHS number on letter to them
-in a lot of pain. -Could you check that they were aware it's about you, not your wife -whether it's been written? -whether they know roughly what waiting times are?

Fingers crossed x

Angliski · 14/06/2017 08:16

Thanks ladies so kind of you. Just periods of feeling really sad, but statistically we still have had a 50% success rate so hopefully in the autumn, does anyone have experience of the Czech Republic clinics?

PhoenixMama · 14/06/2017 10:55

LRD Def chase. One thing I've learned lately is advocate, advocate, advocate!

How exciting caution!

I'm still feeling shit but keep repeating - this too shall pass over and over and over again.

kwick · 14/06/2017 16:09

Sorry have been so slammed at work that I am way behind...

Great news Pez on thyroid!
I hope your trip home went ok.

Happy belated Birthday Stork!!! Cake
Best of luck for this try!

Sorry you are going through a bad patch phoenix I can strongly recommend Slimming World for weight loss.

Treasure how can I thank you???? A parking thread!!!!

So sorry Angliski Flowers

LRD I am with the others - chase, chase, chase

I am finally home after a week on the road (bar saturday and a bit of sunday). So nice to be home - I have gone on strike, back to work and the office tomorrow. Am exhausted. Finally my replacement has started I can begin the handover/training process.
I have made a last minute booking for a facial and eyebrow attention - if I cannot comfort myself with food then this is the next best thing Grin

phoenix, sorry to hear you're feeling so rotten. It will pass!

kwick - gosh! Your work sounds stressful!

I did chase with the GP, but not very productively. 'If we have received a letter, and I can't confirm whether we have, it will be dealt with. If you want an appointment to talk about pain you'll have to ring back tomorrow.' Fair enough, I guess. I'm over-worrying.

Munrowalker · 15/06/2017 18:56

That sounds rubbish LRD! As if this whole journey isn't stressful enough. Humph

juneybean · 15/06/2017 19:33

The GP sounds a bit useless really LRD :(

I've got an appointment on Monday to discuss fertility with the doctor, not sure whether I should be requesting a day 21 blood test to see what the progesterone is like. Should I show her my charts?

Phoenix hope you're feeling better soon x

LRDtheFeministDragon · 15/06/2017 19:49

No harm asking, is there, juney? Don't ask don't get.

juneybean · 15/06/2017 19:52

So true LRD shy bairns get nowt as they say up here!

kwick · 16/06/2017 08:03

Yep LRD that is why I have accepted a pay cut and the loss of a perm contract to get more balance in my life.

How's everyone doing today? x

Pez82 · 16/06/2017 11:31

Can I ask a very odd question? Do you feel anything if you stick a finger inside your belly button? If I do it I feel a direct link to somewhere near my bladder which is not painful but not pleasurable either so I always avoid doing it. Thing is, I need to remove my piercing now that my belly is growing (yay!) and I'd like to clean it inside (just some dead skins, nothing horrible) but it freaks me out somehow!! I'm also wondering what's going to happen once the belly really grows and my belly button pops out!
I told you it was an odd question!!!

pickle162 · 16/06/2017 11:32

Hey Phoenix you alright chick?
Bit meh today 😔 not about ttc but got to have further tests for lump I found. Still think it's hormonal changes and I THINK It may have got smaller but will find out in a couple of weeks when see specialist.
Insomnia has been pretty horrific This week so shattered. Will head up for a nap soon, non working day today (yayyyy)

pickle162 · 16/06/2017 11:34

Hahaha pez we love an odd question- I feel something but not as low as bladder. Using a ear bud thingy works well if want to give a little clean

Bear1980 · 16/06/2017 13:52

Haha pez don't know about link to bladder but I hate the feeling when I touch my belly button. My nephew constantly does it to wind me up 😖

kwick · 17/06/2017 05:40

Pez I do something get a wierd sensation if I am poking around in belly button.

Many years ago I realised that it was not quite clean and I spent some gorgeous time cleaning it out.... unfortunately my sporners paradise very rarely returns 😢
One of my "worries" of being preggers is the sticking out belly button - not sure why that gives me that (and the line of niagra) give me the heebeejeebies! 😳

pickle162 · 17/06/2017 08:37

First norethisterone pill taken 😀 I am back on the ttc train 🚂 🤗 let the countdowns begin

Pez82 · 17/06/2017 09:07

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a weird belly button relationship 😉. I think a lot of women don't have a linea nigra, I do not mind this but the belly button turning inside out freaks me out a bit, I guess I'll see...

Pickle, hurrah to starting cycle #2!!! Does that mean the lump is all ok?
