If I had proper ones, I'd never leave the house!

There is a difference between "offended", and "repugnant" and "cringing" which was what was actually sad. Oh and "feeble"

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:32

Don't let's get all arsey and fighty in here. If i've offended anyone, I apologise (again ).

I think lots of people on MN are a little more tetchy than usual, following some threads in the last few weeks.

I'm just a bloke, we say insensitive things sometimes. Ok, all the time.

"i imagined you in an office just having perved over someones boobs and felt the need to discuss it and you have every right to do so so go ahead"

fucking hell

fairyfly · 03/08/2006 13:37

I'm not angry or upset happy daddy, i just felt slightly nausious. I imagined you with a big spluttering red face dribbling, carry on style.

I also do find it a bit weird you'd post that, no offence, i just don't know many men who would come on here and say they like tits. They's say it down the pub with blokes.

As for

"i imagined you in an office just having perved over someones boobs and felt the need to discuss it and you have every right to do so so go ahead"

I don't think so somehow, i think that is very much not allowed at work.

misdee · 03/08/2006 13:39

boobs are great.

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:39

No red spluttery face, here. I remembered the conversation I had with DW, it made me laugh so I thought "I'll put a stupid throw away post on MN in the men's room, it'll be ignored and go away". I didn't realise anyone actually read the drivel I post.

If you don't think perving at work goes on, then you really are naive. It's the worst place for it. Apart from my workplace as it's only me and 4 other blokes.

OP posts:
bundle · 03/08/2006 13:40

I think this is a good reason to get rid of the men's room. totally not in the spirit of MN.

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:40

bundle - fair comment.

Hardly any blokes to actually post in here anyway.

JessaJam · 03/08/2006 13:42

Perving happens EVERYWHERE. Men do it. Women do it.
The problem arises when rather than just noticing an attractive member of which ever sex they are generally attracted to, the said "perv" feels the need to drool/comment/grope...that's when they need a slap ( verbal or otherwise)

piglit · 03/08/2006 13:44

Probably because it's called mumsnet....

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:44

JessaJam, believe me I get the message.

Iklboo · 03/08/2006 13:45

You're not having a good week are you HD?

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:45

piglit, this is the only site i've been on that has any decent non "expert" advice and help on parenting. It's why I joined.

But I'm a bloke and am only ever one click of a mouse away from another foot in mouth episode.

OP posts:
fairyfly · 03/08/2006 13:45

I'm far from naieve thanks.

I just dont think at work you have every right to perve at boobs.

It may happen, it happens everywhere, but you don't have the right

Well not at mine anyway.

zippitippitoes · 03/08/2006 13:46

but there always drooly posts on mn from women spotting talent eg I'm not the only one who has commented on builders stripping off

misdee · 03/08/2006 13:46

HD, boobs are great. mine are soft quishy and dh says luvverly. plusw they have fed all of children and given them the best start. in fact dd3 loves boobs.

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:47

Iklboo, just think of the benefits of my posts though...

It means these lovely mumsnetters can vent their spleens without resorting to those horrid breastfeeding / parenting type arguments that are just so last week.

OP posts:
piglit · 03/08/2006 13:47

HD - I'm only suggesting that as a reason that there aren't many men on MN.

NotQuiteCockney · 03/08/2006 13:47

Hmm, I find the women perving at men threads naff, too.

And yeah, of course people perv at work. As long as they do it reasonably subtly, there's no problem. I used to always work in generally-male workplaces, although was not generally the object of perving, thankfully, was certainly aware of it going on.

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:48

Sorry (yet again) fairyfly, I didn't mean anyone has the right. I thought you thought it didnt go on that much, that's all.

Where's my tin hat gone?

OP posts:
Iklboo · 03/08/2006 13:48

piglit - we might all be men

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:49

piglit, to be honest if i hadn't done the stay at home dad bit i probably wouldn't have been interested in a parenting website.

OP posts:
JessaJam · 03/08/2006 13:49

HD...was actually trying to be a bit supportive of you...sorry if it came out the wrong way...
saying boobs are great does not a perv make.

HappyDaddy · 03/08/2006 13:51

JessaJam, do you mean I got that wrong too? Blimey, I am on a roll.

By the way. What did one hotdog say to his mate?

I'm on a roll today.
