NoNoWriMo 2010...anyone doing it?

I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year for the first time. For anyone who doesn't know it's a challenge to write 50k words in 30 days, starting on 1 November and ending on 30 Nov. Is anyone else doing it this year?

Bleurgh, I am rendered brain dead now by this whole thing. Just done 2,500 words and on target to finish on time. Very pleased that I've done it but starting to feel the same as I did after three days of labour with DS - just get it out! I need to sleep and read a book!

It will need a World of Work on it when finished, not least as it's all from one PoV at the moment but reads very linear and now some of the other characters have become interesting so will have to go back and change the perspectives, add in new stuff. Oh and research Italian tarot cards and taxidermy properly, amongst some other shit.

It's done and it's verified.

51,579 words, so comfortably over. I checked and the Open Office glitch did affect my word count, so I wrote another 1000 to be on the safe side.

50,000 words in 29 days, with a whole host of other things on at the same time. So that's first draft of novel number 2 under my belt. Good in places, bad in places, but all in all, it's probably a reasonable first draft. And now I can get back to finishing off the second draft of last year's Nanonovel.

DH is away at the moment, so the champagne will have to stay on ice for a while, but my colleagues have promised to have cake for tea in the office tomorrow to celebrate.

well done grendelsmum! splendid. Arti are you done? the site is getting bunged up again as everyone finishes. I've done 31, hopefully 35 by this weekend when I will ask for a first reading from my aunt. Last time she gave me some great feedback, including that it went downhill after the first half so I am hoping if I give her this one is installments it can save me some massive pitfalls ...
Anyone still working on drafts who wants to use this thread as a more relaxed nano?
My target is a good working draft of 40k or so by end December.
In the New Year I will start 2nd half and try for 1,000 words a day to finish 2nd half end Feb.

Well done everyone . I however failed miserably as November brought with it an endless stream of distractions/interruptions that made it impossible. Myself and DCs all came down with flu, and were knocked out for almost 2 weeks. My sister came over from Oz, so had a 3 day visit with her, and then my niece came to stay for 4 days. Other months have been as quiet as anything .
Still, not a wasted effort as I have 8000 good words from which to start (at my leisure), and it has spurred me into writing regularly.

I'm still in for updates. Having a bit of time off to read some books, snooze and re-engage with life! Then I need to work out how to restructure my novel and research all the stuff I don't have a clue about that I've made up.

Helloooo?! I think I might start a thread for people aiming to start/progress/finish their novel in 2011 - will any of you join me or will I look like a right Billy no-mates?
