NoNoWriMo 2010...anyone doing it?

I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year for the first time. For anyone who doesn't know it's a challenge to write 50k words in 30 days, starting on 1 November and ending on 30 Nov. Is anyone else doing it this year?

Couldn't start until after DS was in bed so was v of you all and itching to get started! 2,046 words - phew! I really enjoyed that but I'm knackered now. Time for some mindless Holby City viewing now after all that effort...

Only 409 words for me today. Hopefully I'll have a chance to catch up by the end of the week.

Was plannning to write til 11 but really too tired. Doesn't help I had work prep this eve for an observation tomorrow. I'm with you today dandy - frustrated!

happy it's good to have a daily average! I am well below today on wordcount ... but on the bright side I have thought of a new plot twist, and wouldn't have written as much as I did otherwise

Hmm, have a bit of a worry about my first chapter. There is not a lot - actually almost no dialog.

I have a light week this week so will try and crack on since I have time. You guys can catch up next week.

I am still going! I have re-started three times. I thought I knew what I was going to write as it was a story that I have played around with before and really thought I knew where it was going!

But once I got going I really struggled to get going on it - so I started something totally different but didn't like that one either!

So - third time lucky and I am really getting into the one I am working on now - I have reached 1010 words and might keep going for another half hour or so!

Well, I think I am done for the evening. I am stopping at 1218 words tonight. Hopefully I will manage about twice that tomorrow and see what happens.
I think I need to think about where this story is going as it is not the story I thought I was going to write. I have an idea about it but it is interesting to see where it is actually going to go.

Still, it is really good to be writing as I usually use the excuse that there just isn't time in the day after working all day, getting the kids sorted and into bed and then doing my marking. But this is proving that I can fit it in and having to try to write every day will hopefully get me into the habit of writing again.

Perhaps I can fit half an hour of writing into during lunch tomorrow!

I agree, this is showing me that I have got time to write, even if it is a bit pants. I've done 1776, but haven't been able to get on the site to add it. I'm enjoying it so much, it's reminded me of how much of a pleasure it is to write with abandon, even though I really don't know what I'll end up with at the end.

'end up with at the end'? hmmm definitely time to stop for tonight :o

I'm on 2895 words now, with some I wrote while I was at work. None of it makes sense yet, but I will fluff it out soon.

I'm on 4228 so far. It's going OK but I keep being really critical of what I have written not ringing true and I get downhearted and discouraged.

I seem to remember the same thing last year. It took me a few days to get in the swing of just getting the words on the page and letting it be bad for a bit before my voice showed up I started feeling better about it.

What are we all writing about?

First my mum then MIL called. so have a grand total of 220 words this morning and have to go and pick DD up for lunch in 5 minutes.

Will have to carry on this afternoon.

Maybe I should take the phone off the hook during my "writing time".

I am writing a kind of pyschological thriller. I wanted to make it a bit bloodthirsty but my crime plots are pants

Just in from work so hoping to get on with it later, better not let myself slack off already because I'll have trouble catching up. Not sure how to describe it at the moment, hopefully that will become clearer as the days progress, but if not I'm enjoying the brain dump.

Started today, one day late. Only got 350 words down and am knackered. Already thinking 'this is shit' but I need to stop being a baby, spew out the words and see what happens. Something I have to do!

I'm aiming for 1000 tomorrow to make up for slow start.

and this is my writing slot, have just done 600ish but should not be on here as all that has happened is someone slept and woke up

Glad to see others are also starting late. Missed yesterday due to 'stuff' but managed to get just over 1500 today. Decided to go with a kind of fantasy novel, but have very little idea what's happening. Nice to have a splurge though, & proof that there are minutes in the day for writing if I stop looking at the internet.

Hi, I started yesterday, having really good fun doing it - I haven't written anything in years, it's great fun. I'm aiming for 2000 a day, to give breathing space, and it's a fantasy kind of thing. 4,300 so far.
