When there was the false kidnapping of the child in the north of England, I read that police gave to employ genealogy specialists at times to clarify interrelationships.
What a sad story.

ciaopizza · 17/12/2024 19:41

I see the man has been named now.

The gardai have said his death is a 'personal tragedy' so he killed himself. That has to be guilt right there.

I wouldn't say that. It may have been some kind of over dose etc..

Hopefully it will all become clear. So much covering up. I hope the boys body is found. The poor little guy.

Manchesterbythesea · 18/12/2024 08:54

I didn’t know how to do a link but this says it was suicide and the note left was of no use.

Kyran Durnin - awful story.
Wendysfriend · 18/12/2024 09:06

It's just all so shocking. I'm trying to read on other sites but the comments are disgusting. No one knows if he was involved, maybe he was maybe he wasn't, it's a very drastic route to take, it was his chance to say what happened in the note but if the Gardai are saying there was nothing I just hope they have something from the mother's questioning. She's key in all of this, she knows, there's no way she doesn't.

Wendysfriend · 21/12/2024 10:33

Still nothing yet. I keep checking throughout the days hoping there's something. Just so many missing people, no clues, no one being found.

I reckon there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we just don't know about yet. The Gardai are probably gathering all the evidence. A child was murdered near where I'm from and the person they arrested was let out until the trial. We couldn't believe that she was just sauntering around while charged with a child's murder. She even had a baby in between being convicted. It finally went to trial and she was found guilty , has been in prison since.

Wendysfriend · 24/12/2024 14:48

This case is starting to annoy me now, especially with the recent photos of her in England heading into a football match, laughing, eating, carrying on like nothing is wrong. Who the hell does these things when your child is missing. She's in another Country and the search for her missing presumed dead little boy is carrying on here in Ireland.

I just can't get my head around any of this, one man kills himself over the case, her whole family are celebrating Christmas as normal with their decorations and days out on social media. Why are these people not looking or at least pretend to care about this poor child.

If they're not involved then I'll apologise for blaming them but I just can't imagine carrying on as normal when my child is missing.

MILLYmo0se · 24/12/2024 16:04

I can't understand how the grandmother hasn't been arrested for making a false report re them going missing, and the mother for at the v least child abandonment, but I presume Gardai are playing the long game if to have any hope of actually getting all the facts as to what happened and a variety of charges will happen at the end of it.... If there ever is an end

Happiestwhen · 24/12/2024 16:34

I can't believe it either, out and about in Ipswich , not a care in the world with her latest (old ) man . Amd same with the grandmother. Sickening.

Psychoticbreak · 26/12/2024 22:12

I have been avoiding news and sm has anyone any links? I firmly believe mum and gran will be arrested and charged and then can be held but we are living in a country where you need solid proof of wrongdoing you cannot just be charged with an offence without this. It is frustrating and locally a lot of people are angry but the process has to be gone through.

loropianalover · 08/01/2025 22:09

I can’t believe that the man who committed suicide left no info in his note. I hope they are just hiding it from the public, but all reports I’ve read so far say he left no indication about what happened or where the boy is. There’s just no way he doesn’t know more.

MILLYmo0se · 09/01/2025 08:05

If he genuinely had nothing to do with the child's death I wouldn't blame the man for being upset that he was being labelled a child murderer and his home being vandalised etc....... Meanwhile the mother is in yet another relationship swanning off to football matches...

This is part of what I don't understand (of a long list of stuff about this horrible situation)

How is she swanning around when guards are literally tearing houses apart and carrying out digs looking for the body of her dead child? This child was living with her at the time. How has she not been arrested? Charged with neglect at a minimum? Perverting the course of justice? Concealment of a body?

Why hasn't the grandmother been arrested? She obviously made false reports to the guards?

There's so much we don't know about this situation, for good reason presumably, but the lack of progression is just astounding.

Wendysfriend · 09/01/2025 14:18

I don't understand this about the takeaways. How do they know there was one less meal ?

I know when we order we sometimes order from a couple of different places, sometimes one goes and gets food from the places that have shit delivery services and we may also have a different takeaway deliver the same night, depends who wants what. (A lot of our takeaways aren't close together). Our amount of meals wouldn't balance out to the amount of people here if we only counted those we got delivered.

Also sometimes we share meals, sometimes one of the kids when younger might have been staying with a friend or grandparents, so we'd be down one meal. Plus some orders are done online some on the phone, some we just walk into. There was a time one of mine would only eat McDonald's so while we ordered from elsewhere DH use to drive to McDonald's to get the one meal , this would make our main order look one meal short. Is it a case that they regularly ordered from the same place and ordered the same food every time ?

MyHouseIsABusStop · 09/01/2025 14:30

@Wendysfriend I'd imagine they ordered from the same couple of places regularly. The two areas they were living in aren't big, think towns where lots of people know each other. I can understand why, with hindsight, this is now painting a picture. Johnny from the chipper down the road has just realised that they used to order X,Y and Z every Friday and Sunday night and that then went down to just ordering X+Y.

eggandonion · 09/01/2025 14:34

It's quite an interesting piece of information...the missing kids meal
Poor little lad.

TheRulerofThings · 09/01/2025 15:05

@MyHouseIsABusStop I recall hearing a report on this last year and they said that if she is arrested now for a smaller crime it could limit the gardai’s ability to charge and convict her with something larger down the line. Not a lawyer so don’t know the detail of it but it’s clear they’re trying to build a case for murder/manslaughter against her or someone else.

To be fair to the Gardaí, once they get their teeth into something they don’t let go - look at the Elaine O’Hara case - and I’d say they are throwing everything at this to make sure they get justice for Kyran.

MyHouseIsABusStop · 09/01/2025 15:21

@TheRulerofThings Id imagine that's definitely the case, that they're building a case against her. It's just frustrating to see this woman walking about with a new beau, seemingly without a care in the world.

The Gardaí can definitely do good work, no denying that. However, the doggedness of one Garda, James O'Donoghue, was really what made the case against Elaine O'Hara's killer. I believe that man just wouldn't give up and had it not been for his off duty activities, that sicko would still be walking the streets.

That makes sense. Thanks for that
