Bought some groceries today. About £17. I’ve spent far too much this week on junk.

Believe me @DirtyGertiefromno30 I’m not sure anything would surprise me about my boss. You will know who I work for (but not IYKWIM) and if people knew half the stuff that went on in that place. Our director graces the sofa on breakfast television etc. he makes me want to vomit. Glad your mum is OK.

I did a tour too today @DeepFriedCreamEgg. Not sure which my favourite was.

Was surprised today I bought some walkers crisps in Aldi and they had the exact same bags in Waitrose for 45p more. Given how little I’ve seen the inside of the gym over the last 10 or so days I’m not sure how wise my purchases have been. I did mix together tahini and crème fraiche and dollop it on top an apple tart with some mango and it was rather tasty.

Smells like rain here. Another storm would be nice. Thermometer is down to 29.8.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 28/06/2026 07:52

Good morning everyone 😊
Cooler here now 🙏 👍
Don’t be hard on yourself about the junk @RumBananaSundae we all have weeks like that 😊
Your boss sounds awful 😱. It must be so frustrating for you working there, especially when people only see the public version. If they knew what goes on behind the scenes they’d be shocked. I can see why he winds you up. I hope your next job is completely different sweetheart 🤗 🙏🤞
Mad about the Walkers crisps being 45p more in Waitrose for the exact same thing! You can't beat Walkers cheese and onion 😋
That apple tart with tahini and crème fraîche a😋👍.And don’t worry about missing the gym for a few days, you’ll get back into it , hope the storm has taken the temperature down for you too 🤗

Afternoon all,
Cooler here too. Even though I love the heat it is actually quite nice and I'm enjoying it.
NSD today. We popped out to get OH a shirt as he is off to Paris this week for work. And we stopped for lunch but OH paid.
Now off to DD grading for her gymnastics but I've already bought the tickets for that. Although I've just remembered we have to pay to park. Hopefully won't be much.
I did buy a diffuser and an essential oil book from Vinted last night and it was about £20 in total I think.

Cauliflower burgers and roasted veg for dinner, all from the freezer and defrosting as we speak so a nice easy tea when we get back later.

I hate it when people present themselves on TV as something and you know they are something else. Your boss sounds vile @RumBananaSundaebut that tart sounds blinking amazing.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 28/06/2026 15:48

Good afternoon everyone 😊.
Watching the Grand Prix here , footy later 😁
Spent a fortune on the shopping 😱
£55 Home Bargains £43 Lidl
£21 the Range for bird feed
Farmfoods £15
🙄
Weather is good here , dry ,sunny and 20C just perfect.
Had cheese and crackers for lunch just having a nice strong cuppa now ☕. Mum was fine there thankfully 😁
Good old NSD @Frugal25 even better when OH is paying for lunch bless him! Paris for work sounds fab , hope he has a really good trip. Fingers crossed the parking doesn’t cost a fortune at DD’s gymmastics grading.
Vinted bargains are just fantastic 👏🤗
Hope your Dd does brilliantly good luck to her 🙏🤞👍 .
Waves to everyone 🤗👋

Just under £3 in Aldi and Sainsbury on some discounted onion bhajis and a bar of chocolate. Bhajis for the freezer.

It was the Messi Walkers cheese an onion in Aldi @DirtyGertiefromno30. A bit of rain but no storm yet. We’re down to 27.4 so more comfortable. And there’s a breeze. Snap with your cheese and crackers. I had cheese and bread.

Ohhh hope your daughter smashed her grading @Frugal25. I am now wishing I had a cauliflower burger. Hope your husband has a grand time in Paris. But let’s face it Paris is awesome.

Enjoyed some more crème fraiche and tahini mix up with my left over apple tart. Have quite a few left overs so no need to really meal plan for this week. Really need to do some house work. But will relax with some cold milk instead.

Frugal25 · 28/06/2026 19:19

DD smashed it out of the park! Medal and certificate are being, very rightly, paraded about.
OH doesn't want to go to Paris. I have ordered to go for him. He said no. Bit rude I thought!! Lol.

So jealous of the cheese and bread/crackers. I may have this tomorrow as have both to use up.
Oohhh leftovers @RumBananaSundaei an obsessed with them and love using them up. Enjoy.
So glad your mum is ok @DirtyGertiefromno30 and it's cooler for her too.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 28/06/2026 21:10

Sounds like you've had a lovely chilled day bless you @RumBananaSundae . 😊 . Bargainois bhajis for the freezer AND chocolate for under £3 yay! Glad it's cooled down for you too. That housework will still be there tomorrow, so I'd definitely enjoy that cold milk and put your feet up instead. Hope the storm stayed away and you are having a lovely relaxing evening sweetheart. 🥛

Huge congratulations to your daughter @Frugal25👏 ! It sounds like she did really well, and she should be very proud of herself. I hope she is enjoying showing off her medal and certificate bless her 😁 . The cheek of your DH to refuse your offer to go to Paris for him. How very dare he 🤣
AHH Thank you re my Mum too 🤗
You definitely need chese and crackers tomorrow, they always hit the spot 😋.
I bought some new ones from Lidl, and they were delicious.
Nairn's cheese and onion oatcakes l had never seen them before, but they are lovely 😋
Oh, I have not seen Walkers Messi's cheese and onion crisps @RumBananaSundae
Must have a look at them in Aldis 😋
Watching the Canada v South Africa
It's a very good game TBF 👏

Def buying these on Thursday @DirtyGertiefromno30. They look yummy.
£5 on cat litter today. Ran out completely today. Disaster.
£3 on a cheese sarnie that wasn't that nice but I ate at my desk as today was ridiculous.
Have decided that when OH is in Paris, DD and I are having the very delicious and nutritious cheesy beans on chips.
I'm very excited.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 29/06/2026 19:00

Evening everyone 😊
£11.65 Morrisons for milk and another curry offer for tea 😋😁
Mum very good there today thank God 🙏.
Oh no, running out of cat litter is definitely one of those must buy moments @Frugal25 😂 .Shame about the cheese sarnie though, especially for £3 🙄
Cheesy beans on chips with DD sounds like a great idea 😋 .Sometimes simple comfort food is just the best.
I made cheese and potato pie and tomatoes the other day and it was gorgeous 😍

Nearly had a no spend day but bought some spinach for £1.65.

Well done daughter @Frugal25. Rude indeed. Tell him to fling his tickets this way and I’ll happily stand in for him.

I’ve never seen those oat cakes before @DirtyGertiefromno30. I might pop to Lidl tomorrow and take a look. Glad your mum was good today. Thumbs up to the worms.

Thank you @DeepFriedCreamEgg. I hope so too.

Had a glance at the weather forecast and it looks like another warm spell is on its way. Not sure I’m looking forward to it. Read something today and someone had been looking for a job for two years. That didn’t send my mind to a good place. No sniff of an interview here yet. Arrrghhhhhhhh.

£65 on sketchers sandals... I've never spent so much on sandels but since my last pregnancy I've had issues with my feet and need good arch support...I have that in trainers but it's been got. Hopefully they will serve me well!

£17 in Morrisons on grosseries. I used a £5 voucher as logged into Morrisons more account first time ever, I normally collect points but it's not a shop I often use.

Alwaysgrowing · 29/06/2026 21:06

Also in Morrisons there were some clearance stock...some Kelloggs honey nut chilli peices. I bought some for DH for fathers day the other week. We've been enjoying them as a treat, now they are just 55p each! Cheaper than the own brand cereal. I got 3, DH said I should have cleared the shelves and give some to his parents as they love a bargain...I Think he was joking....Also packet of pop tarts for 45p.... really unhealthy stuff. Nectarines were also on offer for 87p, got a pack of them....

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 29/06/2026 21:13

Spinach is so healthy that's still a NSD @RumBananaSundae 😉
I'm not looking forward to another hot spell either tbh , last Thursday was just horrendous 🙄.
As for the job search , try not to compare yourself to someone else. It's the worst thing you can do and it's very early days for you . Have you given your CV an update or what about asking someone to have a look at it for you Don't give up ,don't feel bad , it only takes one yes. We are all rooting for you and although l don't know Jack shit about jobs or anything to do with your work l am fully behind you and l know the others here are too . So take heart ❤️

You had some great bargains @Alwaysgrowing great shop!
I must look out for the chilli nut honey cereal😁 .Sketchers are a really good brand and l can imagine them being really comfortable. I paid a lot for Clarks Cloud stepper sandals and l don't regret a penny they are so comfortable 😁

Been away for the weekend at Ross on Wye and did the Race for Life not too far from there. Was a great weekend but tiring with the run and the drive back home. Took a half day from work today. Spending wasn't too bad away, think two of us spent £140 on food over three days plus £40 for some essentials.

Just done some budgeting and it's tight for the next four weeks. I need this thread more than ever!

@RumBananaSundae I'm repulsed by your boss. I too hope he has a nasty surprise on the sofa one day, maybe someone could leave an upturned drawing pin there for him to sit on.

@DeepFriedCreamEgg 😂 I'll not add gravy - I did consider it may be a delicacy I hadn't come across before, but I'll take your advice!

Sorry just posting quickly to make sure I don't drop off completely, so may not have included all.

I need some work type of sandals so off to check Vinted again. Either got beach shoes or converse (or smarter shoes that I don't like) as my options for work tomorrow!

Also got out some fajita chicken from the freezer ready for a flatbread sandwich tomorrow - may even aim for a NSD or a LSD as we're out of snacks!

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 29/06/2026 22:11

Do recommend chips cheese and gravy if anybody is interested.
