I did wonder @Alwaysgrowing but it sounded a taste sensation!
Piguana and cruddy boss - love it 😂
Pleased the visit went well @Frugal25
Hope decision day goes okay @RumBananaSundae

Another £46.70 on pub lunch with DH - sandwiches and chips plus two drinks each. Also £40 car valet. Feels like we are limping to pay day this month.

Frugal25 · 25/06/2026 11:00

Fingers crossed your day is as good as yesterday @RumBananaSundae. We love no piguana bosses and no meetings. Hope your decision is easy once you have the information xxx
I didn't like to say, but jam and cheese wasn't really tickling my taste buds! But ham and cheese, nom.

£74 I think in Lidl this morning. A bit more than expected but DD picked up two toys and I said she could have them but no magazines for a few weeks. She agreed. So that bumped it up. Also.got crisps for Saturday night.
£10.55 on swimming.
Gutters needed fixing and the man that fitted them came straight out and fixed for free.
Then I woke up this morning and smelt gas and called the emergency gas number and they fixed within half an hour for free for me. I am trying to pay these people but they are saying no. I think I need some notes in a jar somewhere in the house to give people tips as they aren't accepting card payments.

Alwaysgrowing · 25/06/2026 18:30

£6.25 on lunch as I accidentally left mine at home.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 25/06/2026 19:04

I was fully up for the jam n cheese pancakes l will be honest with you @Alwaysgrowing 😂
That pub lunch sounds gorgeous @Lockin26l think when it's in cases of dire emergency like this weather then we need to splurge and treat ourselves 😁👏
Aw @Frugal25
Ppl can be so kind that's warmed the cockles if my heart bless them ❤️
Yes just echoing the other @RumBananaSundae hope everything is sorted today for you 🙏🤞🤗
Mum was fine there thankfully 🙏
Weather breaking tomorrow apparently we shall see 😁

@DirtyGertiefromno30 good your DM is fine, hope the heat is not too bothersome for the residents

@Frugal25 that's so kind, and good your gas emergency was fixed quick.

£50 for DD to go to the fair. It's only once per year and her favourite night of the summer 🎡 I'm sitting waiting for her and her friend now. I'd planned £40 but her friend had £50 and they've done two weeks of mock GCSEs in the heat so I was a bit soft...

£7.30 lunch in Morrisons. I paid to work in the cafe where there was air con 😂

£5.38 Amazon for some magnetic rings for my car phone holder but I am returning a phone case for £10.44.

Summer plans do seem expensive this year but it doesn't look like we are having more than day trips and a weekend in Dublin, as opposed to a week abroad so I am making the most of summer...

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 25/06/2026 22:02

Thank you @Lockin26re my Mum and the other residents. My Mum seems to be sailing through it thank God as do the other residents too 🤗🙏🤞.
I don't blame you giving your DD £50 for the fair . She's worked hard and honestly she deserves it , well done to you for doing that for her . The fair is so expensive now , they used to do a cheaper ticket night on a Thursday and both of ours would go then . She will have a whale of a time bless her 🤗
I think that was inspired of you to go in to Morrisons for your lunch well worth £7.30 in my eyes 👍👏😋🤗

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 26/06/2026 12:04

I love that @Lockin26
Truthfully that sort of thing is my motivation to work and get on with it on bad days to be able to have "cool mom" moments.
I'm considering the morrisons visit to be health and wellbeing 😆

Frugal25 · 26/06/2026 13:00

£1.95 on a first class stamp to send the sympathy card.
Hoping for a NSD day apart from that.

Last night I ordered some tea cakes and apple juice from milk man for Saturday morning so that's £3.75 I think.

I'm the same. I just want to be able to be a cool mum and say "yes" to DD. I've promised myself that this summer is the last year I'm going to have to be careful over summer and limit what we do. I want to be able to say "yes, let's go" next year.

Hope everyone is ok. DD is home from school as they shut so I'm doing training courses at work as it's easy to do whilst in have her in the background

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 26/06/2026 15:53

I've had a really expensive day! Got paid today .

£80 in marks and Spencer on three pairs of trousers and a top. Haven't tried them on yet as I'm sweating too badly

£13 in Starbucks. Iced Macchiato and some coffee beans

£8 aldi I'm obsessed with their tale on lemon Fanta and have drank tons this week.

£12 on some bits of school uniform for DD she was lacking in shorts etc for sun days.

£8 in Dunken doughnuts - yet another coffee for two.

£20 on a trip to the farmshop completely unnecessary but I always liken farm shops to airports prices don't exist and you want a sausage roll at 830am.

Feel like I need another payday tomorrow 😆

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 26/06/2026 17:46

Afternoon everyone 😊
Been to Bristol airport to fetch Dd2 from her holiday , she had a wonderful time 😁.
Traffic was terrible, thank God for Air con in the car 👏👍
Spent £31 in Morrisons, they have bags of Indian and Chinese ready meals for 2 for £5.50 for a bag and a meal deal for £10 for two Indian mains and 2 sides also in the fridge. So l bought them and that's tea tonight for £15.50 for the 4 of us 👍.
£1.95 for a stamp is shocking @Frugal25! 🤦‍♀️. Fingers crossed for your NSD. I really hope next summer is the one where you can say Yes to all those days out with DD without worrying about the money sweetheart 🤗
@DeepFriedCreamEgg days like today are what being frugal 90% of the time is all about l reckon . As long as you are happy with what you spent that's what it's there for . Good for you sweetheart you needed a bit of retail therapy 👏👍🤗

Got to Asda and Marks and Spencer today at yellow sticker time. I got a few packets of mango, hard boiled eggs and deli odds and ends for just under £4.50. I’ll freeze some of it. Yesterday I bought some tahini for about £7. I can see some strange meals coming up.

Stamps have really increased in price @Frugal25. I hardly send postcards now.

I googled piguana @DirtyGertiefromno30. Well that’s a sight I won’t forget in a while. Though it does actually look like my boss. Glad your daughter enjoyed her holiday and I’m envious of your Indian meal. I gazed at them as I walked past in Marks and Spencer.

Settled part of my case yesterday. Don’t think it was the best decision but it brings some certainly. The solicitor thought I could have got a better deal and I think if I’d taken a step back I would have made a different decision. Still have one aspect that can’t be agreed on so might end up in court anyway. There’s another week in the timeline for that.

Have been feeling quite tired yesterday and today. As much as I’m enjoying the weather I think it is having an effect. Oh and I bought something online yesterday (about £50) but am not going to beat myself up about it as I was meant to be meeting a friend yesterday and it was rescheduled due to the weather so I’m looking at it as fund redistribution.

drspouse · 26/06/2026 18:09

Purse has not yet turned up. I was right not to cancel all my cards though as none have been used and the first one I ordered hasn't arrived yet.
Spends today: £4.05 on iced coffee (I'm fully composed of iced coffee at this stage), £75 for counsellor next week (at least it's in advance this time!), we are having a takeaway but no votes yet on what it will be.
Plumbers took out our old bathroom suite today but aren't putting the new one in till Tues so I just had a shower while the kids are in rookie lifesaving.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 26/06/2026 18:34

You did brilliantly at yellow sticker time @RumBananaSundae 👍.
I googled Piguana and it made me laugh , they are hideous 🤣 and now you'll never look at your boss the same way again! Serve him right 🤣
I'm so glad you've got part of the case settled, even if you're still wondering if it was the right thing to do . Sometimes certainty and completion is worth more than money . Fingers crossed the rest gets sorted without court 🤞.
And don't feel bad about the £50 , it was a necessity 🤗.
I think this heat is draining everyone, so none of us are feeling ourselves, you take care of yourself sweetheart .

I'm glad you didn't cancel all your cards @drspouse . Fingers crossed your purse turns up and the new card arrives soon. 😊 . Fingers crossed 🤞 the new bathroom goes in smoothly on Tuesday. At least you managed a shower today while the DC were swimming bless you .

I had air con at work, got home at 6 yesterday and it was the first day the house wasn't cooler than outside, it was about 30 everywhere. So I decided to pop to Morrisons for the Aircon and oatmilk on offer, other grosseries and wrapping paper for £26. Coming out was like a swamp at nearly 8pm. Also spent £2.10 on lunchtime snacks

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 27/06/2026 08:11

Good morning everyone 🤗
Off to see Mum this morning much cooler here thank God 🤗.
We have to have the hedge cut in the garden and God knows how much that will be 🙄 hey ho .
The curries we had from Morrisons last night were really nice , if anyone wants a cheap takeaway l thoroughly recommend them 😋.
l agree with you @Alwaysgrowing Morrisons air con was divine yesterday. I stood in their fridge aisle and was in seventh heaven 🤣
Hope everyone has a lovely day 🤗

I think supermarkets are having a rawing time at us all popping into supermarkets for air con 😆
Think as our Saturday activities today we might do a tour of the big four ...

Hoping for a NSD today. Got a refund from milkman he didn't deliver. Sigh.
Sorted out my old toys in the shed and DD is currently playing happily with 40 year old toys bless her.

Oh disappointing re the milkman 🙄. l was living vicariously through you for the apple juice and fresh milk @Frugal25 🤣. Oh bless your Dd that is so sweet for her . Did you have a cabbage patch doll or a care bear or and a Holly Hobble ragdoll . I have a bit of a thi g for ragdolls tbh 🤣

Weather lovely here 25C lovely breeze and just right 👍. No need for the big four tour for me today 🤣
NSD for me but l might have a little look at the ragdolls on Vinted 🤣

Do it @DirtyGertiefromno30i love a rag doll.too.
At the mi5she is playing with a Cinderella rag doll my mum made me when I was 4 or 5. And one of my dollys. That I may have to take away later as she is quite precious!!
But she is playing gently, I'll see how it goes.
So glad your mum is ok ❤️😍

I'm eyeing up an essential oil diffuser thing and oils and a book. I have the burners and candles but with kittens flying about having constant funny fives I think this may be safer.... Waste of money?? I always hated the thought of the diffusers and stuck to my burners and candles...

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 27/06/2026 19:07

Well, I can actually say it was not the big four that offered the most satisfaction. It was the one that offers my addictive pretend lemon Fanta.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 27/06/2026 19:32

Aw bless her @Frugal25 😍
Thank you Re my Mum ❤️
I love reed diffusers, l can't resist them .
I bought a Yankee Candle Rose one from Boots clearance for £4 a while ago . l am anticipating using it with glee 🤣. Never a waste of money but... the kittens are not conducive with reed diffisers anything imho 🤣
Well there you go then @DeepFriedCreamEgg who would have thunk it Aldi was the superior 🤣 !
l had to watch l didn't fall in the big 4, all their fridges were leaking from the work they were putting in ! 🤣
