Just came to say cheesy chips with gravy and @DeepFriedCreamEgg beat me to it!!!!

@RumBananaSundaei agree with dirty, don't compare your story to another. We all have walk different paths. Maybe they aren't very good! You are awesome. Have no fear . But Def get CV checked, do agencies exist anymore? It's been 15 years since I last had an interview. Right behind you Hun xxx

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/06/2026 08:58

Good morning everyone 😁
off to the pictures to see Supergirl with Dd2 this morning, tickets £16 .
Market this morning £20 getting sweets and biscuits. A huge box of Lindt chocs, £54 on the Lindt site for my Mum that are £15 date is up middle of July .
Some Garibaldi biscuits and snack a jacks . I know, a bit of a healthy spectrum anomaly there . Snack a jacks to Lindt chocs 🤣. They have a website so l know in advance the cost and have given DH my list he's just gone now bless him 😊.
I have been watching l will find you on NF , l don't know if it's me or is some of the acting off . Could just be me 🙄,
l am a bit critical sometimes . I need to give myself a shake 🤣.

You were quite near to where l live @Lockin26😁. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend, and well done on the Race for Life! 😊👏. Ross on Wye is beautiful ❤️. Your spending doesn't sound too bad really, especially for over three days and it's good you've done your budget, even if it's looking a bit tight , at least you know what's what and you can follow it to the letter or alter it as you go . The freezer meals will help a lot ! Hope you manage to find some comfy work sandals on Vinted. 🤞😁

My crazy couple of months for work is done so can catch up on here. I've had a lot of cat sitting too and even more coming up next month. I made my target of paying my credit cards off by 1st July!
Next step, to get my savings built up so still have to be frugal.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/06/2026 11:26

Good to hear you @Vinorosso74and you have done so well that's an amazing achievement 👏 👏 👏

Spent £1.89 in Lidl on two packets of crisps.

Good move on the arch support @Alwaysgrowing. It makes the world of difference.

Thank you @DirtyGertiefromno30. Have updated my CV and am tailoring it. Having someone look at it is a good shout. Which Lidl aisle were the oatcakes? I looked today but didn’t see them but I can never find anything there. The Messi Walkers are 99p. So I bought some more.

Well done on Race for Life @Lockin26.

Thank you @Frugal25. One application was via an agency. I should have a look at them.

Well done @Vinorosso74. That’s an achievement.

Quiet day today. My housework plans were scuppered by my friend calling. It was nice to catch up with her. Tomorrow I’m in town meeting a friend for the evening who is in London for work. Now watching the Norway game. Disappointed they are playing in white.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/06/2026 18:58

£1.89 is a bargain @RumBananaSundae! 😄 And at 99p, you'd have been daft not to grab more Messi Walkers! That made me lol then Messi Walkers 😂
Well done updating your CV. Fingers crossed it helps. 🤞
The oatcakes were with the crackers and crispbreads in ours, but Lidl is hopeless for hiding things! 😂
Housework can wait. Catching up with a friend is much more important for you sweetheart, especially given your vile boss , he needs a good dose of Norovirus 😂. Hope you have a lovely evening with your friend tomorrow.
Enjoy the Norway v Ivories match! I know what you mean re it doesn't seem right seeing them in white! ⚽😊
We are watching it too and the pundit , is it Benni ? He is just so lovely, we , DH and l both commented how lovely he speaks , so calming . I am going to follow stalk 🤣 him 😂

It reminds me of the Saturday football on the radio on five live Dad listened to in the 90s ❤️❤️

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 30/06/2026 19:08

@RumBananaSundae
Don't worry about the housework love it only undoes itself as soon as it's done enjoy seeing a friend instead!
The right friend is good for the soul and mind.

Frugal25 · 30/06/2026 19:30

Absolutely love meeting up with friends compared to housework. What a lovely day for you @RumBananaSundae

Well done on your credit cards @Vinorosso74!!! Amazing 😍 🤩

I hope I remember all this.
£3 for the bus to the library.
£2.58 on two plastic tiaras for DD in charity shop waiting for the bus back home.

£6 for a whole day out at the local park/water sports centre that has a beach. Met a friend there with her DS and had a blast.
£5.50 on a cuppa and ice cream whilst out
Think that was it.
Seemed more spendy than that.... Maybe forgotten something.

Absolutely shattered. Was up until 12 last night watching hail Mary (not a Ryan fan but absolutely loved this film!)
And then up at 5.30. I actually feel hungover.

How was the film @DirtyGertiefromno30? Haven't watched that on nf but will take a look and probably agree with you

Frugal25 · 30/06/2026 19:40

Updated to say £10 for pre school graduation photos that I have just paid to get in 3 weeks.
I'm not counting the days until she leaves, honest. I'm very much aware this is the best time of my life and come a few months it will be over. Sigh. Right where did I put that chocolate.

@Frugal25 l really enjoyed Supergirl , a lot didn't like it apparently because they had read the comics beforehand and obviously it made an impact on their thinking . I didn't read them so l was totally unbiased and l liked it 😁👏.
It was in the pictures not on NF but it will probably end up there in the not too distant future 😳.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/06/2026 20:07

Sounds like you had a brilliant day @Frugal25! 😊 Money well spent.
That was such a bargain £6 for all day on that beach and l love your DD having the 2 tiaras ❤️😁👏
No wonder you're shattered 😱 midnight to 5.30am would leave anyone feeling hungover 🤗.
Awe , bless you I know it's bittersweet, but there are still lots of lovely memories to make , you have years and years ahead of you ❤️
Now go and find that chocolate and enjoy it sweetheart 😘😋

Morning all, the kill of the last thread made me laugh @DirtyGertiefromno30@MyAgileHedgehog@DeepFriedCreamEgg. Well done!

Should be a NSD today. No plans other than going to the park and making a daisy chain for DD homework (how nice is that homework?!) and then making a veggie pie for dinner.

Gorgeous weather today. Hope you get your walk @BigSkies2022
@needastrongone I find nature Vs nurture completely riveting. Really fascinating. How twos siblings can turn out so differently, like me and my DB.

Hello all! I've just joined as we have a lot of debt and need a new sofa (current one almost unusable). @frugal25 Please could you share your veg pie recipe?? Thank you!

Frugal25 · 30/06/2026 21:47

Welcome @Statsinyoureyes! We are a lovely bunch, do join in.
Love a new sofa. You will get there xxx
Hmm. Trying to remember which veg pie I made. Bear with me xxx

Statsinyoureyes · 30/06/2026 21:53

Thanks @frugal25 ! I've just realised that post was quite a while ago so don't worry about the pie if you can't remember!

We have 2 young kids and today was sports day. I treated myself to a coffee at Morrisons whilst in town for work - £3.65 - bought a new lip balm which was £4. 2 chocolate bars for the kids for a post-sports day treat. Probably just over a tenner spent.

Anyone considering a no/low spend month in July? I've never done one before but would like to try.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/06/2026 22:04

HI @Statsinyoureyes 🤗
Welcome to our lovely friendly thread .
Aw bless you re your sofa , it will all come out in the wash 🤗. I bought my 2 sofas from the cancer charity shop 6 years ago and they are still going strong 😁.

As we've got a lovely newbie (welcome) let's get back to our origins and declare our spendings
£3.30 socks from Primark. Appears I house a gremlin who looses socks.
£4.25 iced latte.
£2.25 chicken from Aldi. Right let me tell you. It's brilliant! 14 slices for £2.25 and honestly doesn't taste formed. I'm a bit of a meat snob usually tbk
I left the car out of town and walked in though which literally saved the cost ofy latte!

We also have a sock gremlin, it's a hungry beast! Thanks for the welcome 😀 NDS today as I was working from home, I've resisted buying pizzas from the supermarket when we have some perfectly nice pasta in the house.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/07/2026 17:38

I buy my already roasted chicken breasts from Aldi they are the only supermarkets that don't keep the skin on @DeepFriedCreamEgg😋.
How on earth did you resisted those pizzas @Statsinyoureyes 🤣

OP posts:
Frugal25 · 01/07/2026 18:27

Resist pizza isn't in my vocab. Someone explain.... 😂😉

Well. I was due to be in London. Ended up wfh and was meant to be a NSD but ended up at the emergency vets. Sigh.
Jericho is limping and although the vet couldn't find anything we have been sent home and ordered bed rest and painkillers. See if that helps.
£81.
£1.80 for the parking. It's normally free but we couldn't get into normal vets and had to travel to another branch and they have a car park you pay for.
Rice salad for dinner and I nommed mine. DD is stubbornly refusing hers and holding out for another dinner.

Today at work has been atrocious and I'm still going as I took time out for vets. Someone tell me it's Friday night and I'm allowed a glass of wine.....

Hope everyone is ok.
Think I remember the veg pie. Haven't forgotten. Just been a day from hell. Shall grab for you hun xx
I also bought my sofa from cancer research 20 years ago. Only replaced it last month :)

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/07/2026 21:45

Oh @Frugal25what a rotten day sweetheart 😱. Poor Jericho 🤗. I really hope it's just a strain and the painkillers and a good rest do the trick. At least they couldn't find anything serious with him ❤️
Typical that your no spend day ended with an emergency vet bill , honestly it's so expensive to own animals what with one thing and another but they give us so much in return ❤️🤗
You've definitely earned that glass of wine ! Give Jericho a cwtch from his Auntie Gertie . Big hug sweetheart 🤗
