£16ish on brekkie in the play cafe for me and DD. Too hot to go to a park or anything and we never eat out just us. Although she didn't even eat half her pancakes which is not like her at all, think it must be the heat maybe. We were there for over 3hrs in the end as she played lovely for ages so that was good and also left with 4 huge pieces of amazing-looking cake for free that they needed to get rid of (my two friends own the cafe Grin).

Midwife meant to be coming sometime after 2. Got terrible hayfever today so considering taking a tablet, managed without so far this pregnancy but it's difficult feeling rough and having to look after DD. She is also suffering so will give her some soon too, just holding out a bit so it will kick in around her nap time in case it makes her groggy.

£158 lunch for DH and me. Two cocktails a bottle of wine espresso martini and 3 course lunch. Yum. 10 years married. And lunch in my fave place xx

northender · 23/07/2021 16:01

Gen it's a tricky one as everyone's circumstances are different. We always said we would pay for accommodation but they would have to sort everything else. I still stand by that and all being well that is what will happen for dd, but.........Ds has stayed at home for uni so he gets free accommodation and a lower loan than dd will get if she goes away so that difference covers his food. We do also give him some additional money for specific things (gym, cricket etc) but that is really down to him having ME which he manages well but it has given us a slightly different perspective re our expectations of his earning capacity at the moment. He needs to be able to afford to do some of the things he really enjoys, but he does do bar work & some gardening for my parents so it isn't at all taken for granted.

Sorry that was long!

Happy wedding anniversary em

I'm on my holiers since 2:40 today until tues week, first thing I did was get my car washed, dusty environment & it was no longer red Grin and dc got frozen fantas & jellies €21.80 in total

Since I came home I've put out a wash & made my bed(here a month today was first morning it wasn't made) & gathered dry clean laundry & yesterday Penneys purchases and put them on top of it. Didn't sort them mind! Also took old shower handle holder off shower, it was annoying me!

I'm eating pineapple chunks on my bed & contemplating a nap 😴

Ate an ice cream at my new outdoor table, see photo Grin

Happierwithouthim · 23/07/2021 17:23

Second time lucky? Photo won't attach Sad

Happierwithouthim · 23/07/2021 17:26

Mrsmadevans I must get toilet roll too, the last ones are in use. I got some good housekeeping approved stuff in Iceland second last time I bought some and I swore that's what I'd get anymore. Must just go in there!

I am going to start getting a delivery from Iceland again Happier, they were absolutely marvellous when l had them before during lockdown. I know the T. rolls you are talking about too! Grin
Happierwithouthim · 23/07/2021 19:02

Here in Ireland you've to go in and physically do the shopping and then they'll deliver it to you, in this weather maybe it'd be useful but I'd just bring it home myself otherwise

Mrsmadevans · 23/07/2021 21:04

Shame they don't do delivery for you Happier
Weather has completely changed here quite windy & much cooler ! Grin

Press conference with our government earlier. Updates for us - amongst other things if you’re in isolation you can now go out for up to 2 hours a day.

I can’t help but think this is a bad move….

But hey ho. What do I know. I’m not a politician.

Ds is in bed with me now. We’ve got lightening and he doesn’t like it. We have the curtains open and lights off and we’re watching it.

So far no thunder….

daintydaisies · 23/07/2021 21:42

Hi everyone hope you’re all well 😊

Burnt a hole in my pocket today but for a good cause… my DP and I just reserved our first house together 🥳 so happy

Went on a picnic to celebrate, had some sandwiches and Prosecco. Lovely weather today too which was unexpected!

Mrsmadevans · 23/07/2021 21:50

Em that seems ridiculous to me. The damage is already done in two hours FGS. I think we all just have to do what we think is right for us and for everyone else . I am keeping my mask, gelling and cleaning the trolley and keeping away from ppl as much as possible . I AM going shopping now though but only meeting my friends in the garden and socially distancing them . I still don't kiss anyone , not even my Dds or Dh .

Mrsmadevans · 23/07/2021 21:52

Congratulations to you both Daisy Smile

MeadowHay · 23/07/2021 22:14

Congrats daisy!!

And congrats Em and DH on your anniversary.

Spent another £30 on H&M online on mat vests and shorts. Ummed and aahed as not going to get much use out of either but in this weather I'm desperate for both and I have exhausted all the secondhand sales I can think of and haven't managed either. Maybe I will have a third eventually and get more use out of them Wink

Midwife appt didn't go well for various reasons. My local hospital is having huge issues with staffing and my care so far hasn't been good which is stressing me out.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2021 07:04

Congratulations daisy

Oh dear meadow. Try and write it down so a you have a record and b it’s out of your head.
Can you move hospitals?

northender · 24/07/2021 07:14

Great news for you dainty, exciting times!
Happy anniversary Em
Had a lovely day home alone yesterday. It was just like the old pre covid days when I had a day off work every week and everyone was out at work, school or college, such productive times....
Started cutting fabric for a quilt for my best friend's 50th. The only problem is, her birthday is in 8 days!! So quilt is likely to be late, but I'll do my best.
No spends yesterday

Happierwithouthim · 24/07/2021 08:13

Dainty congratulations 🥳
Yesterday's spends €335 childcare, €2 postage
Today €6.25 Stacey solomons tap to tidy book vguc on Amazon

SingToTheSky · 24/07/2021 09:54

Morning all
Will be spendy today if I take the older two to meet mum in London. Need to check the weather 😅

Fantastic daisy congratulations!

Happier let us know how the book turns out. I liked the one episode of the BBC show she did about decluttering

Gensola · 24/07/2021 10:09

Happy anniversary em

Congratulations dainty

Sending back two dresses I impulse bought online, and going to sit down and see what else I can cancel. Supermarket here has so many gaps, it’s like at the start of the pandemic again.

Gensola · 24/07/2021 10:11

north thanks 🙏🏻

Wolfcub · 24/07/2021 10:27

£60 two pairs of walking trousers and two pairs of waterproof trousers doubling up on sale and buy two for £30 discounts at regatta
£50 yesterday haircut
£8 birthday cards
£9 bakery

Need to buy some pork pies from the butchers shortly for df's birthday lunch.

I'm very behind with the thread. Will try and catch up next week

HumbugWhale · 24/07/2021 10:28

Congratulations Daisy! How exciting!

That 2 hour rule sounds a but daft Em. I expect 2 hours walking in a quiet outdoor place is ok but 2 hours wandering around shops or calling into work (which is probably what people will do) is madness!

Happierwithouthim · 24/07/2021 10:44

Will do sing
I agree with your sentiments on 2 hour rule humbug
North happy quilting

I thought I'd be on the road for night away by now, instead we're in various states of undress around the house.
