So sorry gen 💐

Unescorted · 21/04/2021 22:31

I have had a lovely evening watching Sewing Bee ... DD was also watching it at the same time as we chatted on the phone. Not quite as good as being in the same room but lovely all the same.

I have finished for the week already. Tomorrow is a lazy day out.

shipsandgiggles · 21/04/2021 23:33

NSD in the end. I caught up on some of my course work when DH got home, so I’m feeling quite positive about that. DS is nursing so I’m going to plan some activities to do with the DC, as hopefully a few more groups will have opened up by now.

I’m so sorry gen💐

meadow I feel the same about driving, I have to do both school runs with the DC and it petrifies me. Lots of angry parents in a rush and 2 screaming babies in the back isn’t good for my anxiety😂.

martha we live on a Narrowboat so they come into our garden sometimes, we also have cows in the field behind. Very at one with nature!

Mrsmadevans · 21/04/2021 23:43

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/04/2021 06:51

Hope she is ok Mrs.

Need apples today

Bornlazy · 22/04/2021 07:35

Gen so sorry it didn't work this time 💐

Nsd yesterday but spendy day today as I have a Tesco delivery coming and need to nip to Lidl too.

I meant to watch Sewing Bee but forgot it was on will need to watch it on catch up. I watched it last week by sheer chance and absolutely loved it even though I have absolutely no sewing ability whatsoever.

Ships he likes it but I think it's a bit of a slow start as the college part doesn't kick in until September. I want him to love it but thinking back to when I started nursing I absolutely hated it initially and thought about leaving and becoming a teacher. Then once I'd moved onto my second placement something clicked and I started to really enjoy it.

Mrs hope your dh is better today x

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/04/2021 10:08

I love sewing Bee but not seen any of this series yet

Happierwithouthim · 22/04/2021 11:01

I've been Mia but not been off budget

Good news today 3% pay rise backdated to 1st jan in next weeks wages - that's going into a sinking fund to pay my house insurance in one go, then it'll be approx €25 a week extra which will pay my share of dd's braces & an additional 2% rise next January GrinGrinGrin

Happierwithouthim · 22/04/2021 11:02

Gen so sorry to read your update

Lovemaltesers · 22/04/2021 12:25

Sorry to hear your news gen Flowers

This week is really dragging, and getting up in the morning has been a struggle. Only a couple of working hours left to go though now!

MeadowHay · 22/04/2021 16:58

Spends today: £30 at Claire's online. They have a promo on of 'buy 3 get 3 free' which is pretty good. Needed to buy myself some new earrings for my cartilage piercing as the one I've got in now has been in for donkeys and looks all old and manky now and I can't find the others from the pack. Got myself a few as well as some hair clips for me and DD and some bobbles for me too. Can't remember the last time I bought myself jewellery or hair accessories!

Driving lesson went really well, I know I am so ready for my test now, it will just be about controlling my nerves on the day so I don't freak out and do anything stupid eek. I was actually meant to do my test in January but the lockdown started about 5 days before my test date and have had to wait 4 months for this date. I dread to think of the wait if I fail Sad.

Gen Flowers

Ships Argh I can't even imagine that at this stage! Luckily when I finaly pass my test all of my driving will initially be on weekends with DH in the car with me because he has the car for work on weekdays anyway. Hopefully I can build my confidence up with that before solo driving eek.

Mrs Hope your DH is ok.

Fab news about pay rise happier!

Mrsmadevans · 22/04/2021 17:26

Afternoon everyone Smile
Dh is back to normal sinus rhythm thank God ! Thank you everyone for asking Smile
Meadow glad your Driving lessons went well lovely Smile
Happier brilliant news so pleased for you and so well deserved! Smile
Born l hated nursing when l was just starting out as a student , my mentor was a horrible old witch of a thing and had me in tears most days how the hell l stuck it out l don't know but like you my second placement was just wonderful with an old Irish spinster ward Sister who was strict but so caring !
Enjoy your time off North Smile
Life 6 pink lady apples cost me 2.50 t'other day in Tesco l was fabbergasted!
NSD TODAY YAY!

Wolfcub · 22/04/2021 18:45

Got yet another bill from the solicitor. Fkin hell! Also have second solicitor to pay for conveyancing. Grrr

Surveyor coming tomorrow. Mortgage is already approved so this is not an issue but if he values higher than I expect it will reduce my interest rate so that would be good

Life sewing bee has been interesting, a strong northern contingent and a mix of talent

Great news on the pay rise happier.

Will catch up sewing Bee soon.

Fingers crossed meadow on the test

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/04/2021 18:59

Sheesh wolf, bills bills bills at the minute

Bornlazy · 22/04/2021 19:09

Completely overspent today. £70 Tesco, £50 Lidl, £45 Homebargains and £7 Aldi. This is why I shouldn't be let loose 🙈 I do have about 10 days worth of meals and I bought wine and beer oh and plants and a new planter... must go and check my receipts to see what else I bought that cost so much.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/04/2021 07:01

£63 Sainsbury's but needed some clothes. Going to brave pradamark Saturday.

SnugglySnerd · 23/04/2021 07:22

I have had a very low spend week. Apart from the supermarket shop which was £80 and fuel £60 I haven't really bought anything. I need to pay my cc though, that has about £300 on.
I am also enjoying Sewing Bee. I wish I could sew.

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2021 08:04

Morning everyone 😀
Snuggly l have been pretty good with the spends this week thankfully. Makes a change! 😂

I am smashing today, haven't done this much in months! I usually have a dip now late PM and can feel the nausea ramping up as usual but it's still pretty manageable so far. Spends: £14.30 Tesco on overpriced groceries, £1.29 Card Factory, £18 getting threaded.

Cannot believe the size of my bump compared to this time last time, but I didn't lose any weight this time as my HG has been better controlled from the start, last time I lost a load of weight so didn't have a bump for ages. I'm about 6 or 7kg heavier now than I was at this gestation last time Shock (16 weeks). I feel too small to put huge maternity tops on but then the band part of my mat jeans are starting to show already with my normal tops getting a bit short. Hate this in-betweeny phase where nothing fits properly!

AmberItsACertainty · 23/04/2021 16:03

I haven't noticed anything about driving round here but it was pretty awful pre covid anyway I swear half of them can't possibly have a license.

I have had phone trouble. I got the Blue Screen Of Death on a 6mth old phone Shock so I've been running around buying a replacement and setting it up, which I always find confusing, but I'm back now although £155 down. Although I did sell something for £10.

Martha it could be at this stage in life you need to prioritize your savings. I know I was unable to shop ethically when I was very poor. Obviously depends on your circumstances and perhaps it's affordable for you. I often think the biggest thing we can do ethically is to not make unnecessary purchases, buy second hand when possible (saving something from landfill) and don't waste anything. I have also found this to e a good way to save money. As humans we mindlessly consume and waste so much.

Em that was a good discount for the nails. Nothing to beat nice nails. I do mine myself every week, nothing fancy just grow them, file them, paint them.

Meadow I find driving stressful too. It took me 5 years to be comfortable with it.

Ships would you mind sharing your sunscreen recipe? I'm really interested to try it. But only if you don't mind.

Gen I'm so sorry the IVF didn't work out this time. Flowers

Born I'm waving at you from the other shady patch Smile

Wolf are you tough? Like those people who go swimming outside all year round. You could start a new trend for winter sunbathing! I'm not sure which is worse low vitamin D, sun damage to the skin or hypothermia. Difficult for you.

SnugglySnerd · 23/04/2021 19:41

Pleased you are having a good day Meadow.

I have been On It today too and ticked a few jobs off my list. Tired now.
