Today was fine at work, I knew it would be. I was sad about not being at home with the dcs, especially on such a lovely day. Nsd.

Unescorted · 19/04/2021 18:15

Afternoon,

Suggly I hope you had a less stressful day than you thought you would. Not sleeping sucks.

I am impressed by all the lists of doing... needless to say nothing like that has happened here.

DD goes back to uni tomorrow so it is a bit meh here. I am pleased she is going but I will miss her. She will be away for 10 weeks this term.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/04/2021 18:45

Come. on and off as you need ships. Big sounds awful. Pleased you are better.

Ah she will be back soon unescorted.

Spend day £36, £15, £10, £3.50, £14.50 all birthday presents.

MeadowHay · 19/04/2021 19:35

NSD. Felt quite well in the morning but crap this afternoon. Didn't manage to get out in the sun at all which is a shame. Hope everyones well.

ememem84 · 19/04/2021 20:03

Kids are exhausted. Dparents did excellent grand parenting today and have thoroughly tired them out. 😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/04/2021 20:23

Winner em. Love quality grandparenting

I'm tired today. Maybe not as Scott free as I thought.

SnugglySnerd · 19/04/2021 22:09

My lot were exhausted from first day back at school Em. Lots of ridiculous behaviour before bed time!

Sorry dd is going back Unescorted but also good she is able to go back and continue her course. Hope you are ok tomorrow.

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2021 22:53

Had awful hay fever today l have beenabsolutely shattered.
Hope everyone is ok with everyone 😊 will catch up tomorrow 🤗
NSD yay!

AmberItsACertainty · 20/04/2021 01:05

I've been ill today. Collected prescription and did the washing up. That's it.

Ships jump in and out as it suits you. Even if I've read the whole thing I've got the attention span of a fly so I end up replying to whatever I can remember or scroll back to whilst typing. Nobody has shot me yet Grin

Unescorted · 20/04/2021 06:25

Amber have you seen the price of illegal firearms these day? Wink Grin. I hope you gws.

ships there are not Roolz on this thread. Bimble in and out as you want. No apologies are expected or required.

Life I know.... and she will call on a regular basis. Sometimes we eat dinner or watch TV together by proping her up on a lap top.

Bornlazy · 20/04/2021 07:08

Nsd yesterday. Definitely need a few more to make it until payday.

Unescorted that sounds like more interaction than I get from my teenagers who actually live in the house full time with us. Sounds like you have a great relationship.

Ds1 has started an apprentice electrician job and has to get up at 0600. Unfortunately if he's up the whole house is up 🙄 (well except Ds2 who could sleep through anything) talking in a normal voice and even some light singing. When I think of all the creeping about I've done over the years being a shift worker and trying not to wake anyone 😤

Ships hope you are feeling better.

marthasmum · 20/04/2021 07:30

born impressed you have a child who can get up at 6 though! Good for him.
I’ve got my jab booked for thurs, happy to have it but feeling quite nervous about side effects.
I’ve spectacularly double- booked myself with a work commitment and doctors appointment on fri. Seem to do this increasingly these days, I’m wondering if it’s a peri menopause symptom.

AmberItsACertainty · 20/04/2021 12:16

Unescorted I'm safe for now then! Grin Feeling better today. Going shopping.

Mrs hayfever is a bitch. I'm fine for now a bit sneezy but haven't got the crippling tiredness yet.

Meadow I have days like that when it's beautiful outside but I stay in for no real reason whatsoever really. I have big windows though, so it's almost like being outside. I should get out more.

Unescorted · 20/04/2021 14:52

born I keep wondering when we are going to get the disinterested teenage years. I wish I knew how we avoided it so I could write a best selling how to manual and live off the proceeds for ever.

amber until I write my best selling book "How to get away with murder: A teenagers guide to parent training" you are safe.

I have just had a call from an ex colleague to start a head hunting dance....

Mrsmadevans · 20/04/2021 15:44

Afternoon everyone Smile
Amber it's so debilitating l took a Clarityn last night OMG NEVER AGAIN! So tired today from it . l will never take a whole one again .
Born that is wonderful your Ds is doing an apprenticeship , pity about the time he gets up though Hmm Smile
NSD today , just dragged myself to MumBobs and back again, Pizza for tea definitely , something c'est tres facile Grin

ememem84 · 20/04/2021 15:50

£60+ in boots on sunscreen! Wfat! (And hats for the kids).

Four bottles of the high factor stuff. Two for nursery bags. One for dparents and one for our house. Ffs. Plus a hat each for nursery bags and one each for home/car. Only £6 each but still.

I’m pretty sure that we have “spare” hats at home for them but no idea where.

Bornlazy · 20/04/2021 16:12

Mrs I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are a marvel to do all that you do for mumbob! I have been caring for my Aunt since January and I am totally worn down with the relentlessness of it all. Unpaid carers are so taken for granted.

Unescorted you'd be set up for life if you could work out that formulary 😉

em the last time I was organised and bought sunscreen (Ultrasun at a bargain price) I feel like I jinxed the world and sent us into a pandemic banning international holidays 😯

Went to B&M today to buy ds1 a new duvet. Spent £42.25 which wasn't bad really. I bought a new bath mat and over the bath tray thing and some hand towels. They had a basket of bin bags with no labels, all different kinds reduced to 10p at the entrance, so I grabbed about 5 of them. It's like a lucky dip as I've no idea what size they are but I'm sure they will be useful for something 😀

Unescorted · 20/04/2021 16:27

em this is where you need Aldi - their sun cream is dirt cheap compared to other retailers.

Born if he sticks with it there is a job for life. And it is indoors. I have never understood why people do bricklaying or roofing. If I was to do a trade it would have to be one of the indoor ones.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/04/2021 16:31

Grin and oooo in equal measure. Do you want to be head hunted
Unescorted · 20/04/2021 16:50

Depends on the package..

SnugglySnerd · 20/04/2021 18:19

I have been reading about suncream. Most of it contains microplastics. I then searched brands that don't and they are even more expensive!

Nsd. Bank account isn't looking too good at the moment. We seem to have had an expensive month.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/04/2021 19:02

Ok. What's a micro plastic?

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/04/2021 19:03

And why is it bad in sunscreen

ememem84 · 20/04/2021 19:32

I don’t think it’s necessarily bad in sunscreen. More bad when you wash it off. Because it gets in the environment.

The barmaid like clarins etc were told off for using micro plastics in their scrubs. So now they use something else probably ethically sourced by narwhals and probably made by unicorns

SnugglySnerd · 20/04/2021 19:39

The plastics in scrubs etc were microbeads which the government banned a couple of years ago. Although they sre still allowed in other countries I think so companies just change their recipe to suit the country (they do the same in countries that allow/don't allow animal testing).
Microplastics are even smaller and are a cheap way to stop the product separating in the tube. When you apply cream and then get in the sea it is washed straight into the sea, eaten by fish and enters the food chain. Or if you wash it off in the shower etc.
