Happy birthday gen dh

SingToTheSky · 15/04/2021 10:45

Happy birthday Mr Gen!

Does anyone use NowTV? I’m tempted to try it at some point as there are a few things on there I’d like to see, but there’s so much on Netflix etc already. Might do the free trial in summer when I can make the most of it.

Wolfcub · 15/04/2021 11:52

Happy birthday Gen's dh.

Sing I love NOwTV. We binned sky when we were really really skint back when I first came in and out of these threads and I haven't looked back. Now tv has most of the channels and programmes that I'd want to watch. It also stops me watching back to back mindless stuff as it's not available

I don't have Netflix. I'd like it but can't justify paying for Prime, Now TV and Netflix

Thanks wolf I have prime as well but I might get rid of that one as most things I’ve watched on there are now on Netflix anyway. Although there is some stuff on there I’d like to see first. I just automatically head to Netflix if I want to watch something which is daft really.

Lovemaltesers · 15/04/2021 12:16

Like wolf, sky got too expensive so we now have Now tv. We do go months without it when there’s not much we want to watch or we can’t get a cheap monthly pass. We’ve got the last two episodes of Game of Thrones to go at the moment, and I’m watching the new season of Greys Anatomy.

Been into town and got the DDs some stuff from Primark and a cardi and top for me from H&M.

Lovemaltesers · 15/04/2021 12:17

Off to visit Ddad this afternoon. He’s doing a bit better.

Unescorted · 15/04/2021 13:11

Happy Birthday MiniShips and MrGen. I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine.

We have never had Sky - but we have Netflix and Prime. With the number of Amazon orders coming to our door Prime pays for itself in saved postage. I don't think that can be classed as a frugal save mind. I am liking All 4 at the moment. It has the advantage of being free.

MeadowHay · 15/04/2021 14:57

Happy birthday to those celebrating Wine !

I am feeling positive today, managed driving lesson with only one Cola Cube sweet, no vomiting and my nausea wasn't even that bad. I also managed to eat cereal this morning for the first time in months. The sun is shining Easter Grin. Hopefully I will be feeling much better soon.

NSD, wanted to nip out to buy a card but I'm feeling pretty sick and exhausted so not going to risk it. Might see if I can manage a little bit of tidying though and/or paint my nails.

We just have Netflix. I'm watching Mythomaniac at the moment, French show about a woman who lives about having breast cancer. I need to watch more French things as I've just realised how much French I've lost over the last couple of years.

Midwife appt tomorrow. Cannot BELIEVE the size of my bump at 15 weeks Shock. Last time I remember until 20 weeks I was still wearing these tight stiff dresses at work and was only just starting to show. Crazy how much bigger I am this time.

Unescorted · 15/04/2021 15:02

Fingers crossed that the sickness is on the wane.

I thought DS was going to be huge because of the size of his bump. With DD I was in non-maternity jeans on NYE - she was born late Feb. With DS it was full on maternity wear as soon as the pregnancy test worked.

Unescorted · 15/04/2021 19:37

Love sorry I missed the update on your DDad. That is really good news.

Wolf & North when are we going? Mid week to avoid crowds or weekend to avoid using holidays?

My new phone arrived today - trying to remember passwords has been a skill in metal archeology. Good news is I can do this on the go....

Wolfcub · 15/04/2021 20:04

I'm happy with either Unescorted, as long as it's not a day I have a board I can take leave but equally have beggar all to do most weekends. I'll fall in with the two of you.

OP posts:
Unescorted · 15/04/2021 20:26

I am easy too so long as it isn't at the beginning of the month

marthasmum · 15/04/2021 21:11

Glad you managed the driving lesson ok gen
Shamed to admit we also have prime, sky and Netflix. Like others I have prime for the deliveries (and can access student rate) plus Netflix for the teenagers and sky for the sport...to be fair to DP it's about the one hint he spends money on.
Some non-frugal days here buying DS's clothes but I had most of the money set by and they are pretty much kitted out. Also swooped into Morrison's on the way home from football training and bought lots of bargain fruit. Now have a crumble in the oven with this and the freezer sweepings. I've vowed to use up some cupboard and freezer stuff before I do another big shop.
Hope everyone can look forward to the weekend

northender · 15/04/2021 22:07

Ooh weekdays are ok for me. I work 4 days and do my own roster so I can be flexible

Unescorted · 15/04/2021 23:01

Unescorted · 15/04/2021 23:02

northender · 15/04/2021 23:23

madden your days out sound perfect.
Happy birthday to the celebrating peeps.
Glad your dad is a bit better love
Maybe a Skype or Whatsapp group unescorted? That way anyone else who fancies it can be added
Bargain Gousto box is going well here although Dh may have been a bit keen with the cayenne pepper in tonight's tea!
No spends this week so far

SingToTheSky · 15/04/2021 23:39

Bridgewater a tad far for me :o but I hope you all have a great time and look forward to photos! 💖

Thanks for the thoughts re the tv apps. Shamefully we weren’t even meant to have prime really - finally used a free trial for something particular on prime day but didn’t cancel it 😳 and it just doesn’t feel like much even though I know it adds up. Have enjoyed the next day delivery a lot though.

Have been quite tempted by Brit box at times too TBH! We also have Disney+ which we got on offer for the year, they’ve added that star bit with a load of drama on it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/04/2021 07:18

HHmmm I'm swithering O would love to meet you but it's a 2 hour drive. Unescorted there is an existing Skype group if you have Skype
