I’ve just spent £140 on gigantic huge garden beanbags. Two of them. It’s stuff we’ve wanted for ages. So have done it.

Will have to pay the 5% import tax but still cheaper than buying here.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/04/2021 18:06

I haven't been anywhere either as work is crazy
Nsd today

SnugglySnerd · 13/04/2021 18:34

What a lovely sunny afternoon. We had ice creams in the park. £10, that was just for 4 of us as dh was working!

Mrsmadevans · 13/04/2021 18:56

Have bought 6 bags of compost from Aldi 17 , Dh & DDS Chinese Takeaway 26 , they are scoffing as l speak lol

Unescorted · 13/04/2021 19:31

The pubs were slightly less mad today, but that had something to do with it trying to rain.

My brain is mashed - it appears work things might be on the way being resolved. I have my fingers crossed.

Happierwithouthim · 13/04/2021 19:37

12.04 on sweets €1 was mine rest was out of dc pocket money

€50 on this week & next weeks horse riding lessons

northender · 14/04/2021 07:07

No spends to report from yesterday. Gousto box arrived which was our excitement for the day!

maddenlightfoot · 14/04/2021 08:17

Drove to the coast yesterday armed with bread and butter. Chips and a couple of drinks = chip butty lunch, £12. Going to do similar today as DH has holiday booked this week.

I'm loving YNAB. But I'm sure I must be doing something wrong as I suddenly feel like I have money for everything 😅. I'm sure this will change next month when I only have our income to distribute rather than savings as well.

SnugglySnerd · 14/04/2021 10:35

Madden that is genius! I love a chip butty!

MeadowHay · 14/04/2021 15:44

Mm love a chip butty! We got a little Chinese last night after I read Mrs having one Blush. We have spent soo much money on junk food since I've been sick because I can't eat properly so if I suddenly feel like I can eat a burger and chips then we just go with it to get it down me. Weird how my sudden meal cravings are always unhealthy expensive fast food though, I never suddenly feel like eating a quiche and vegetables or something Blush.

NSD again here.

maddenlightfoot · 14/04/2021 17:27

It was just right for lunch and saved us ££ on getting fish and chips (which I love 😋). Another day, another beach and now we're off to sit in a pub garden for a drink before cooking dinner at home. Think I could get used to staycations now we're in our new house!

Unescorted · 14/04/2021 17:52

Madden that sounds lovely. I am happy to stay at home but it is an area where people come for holidays so no real hardship.

Meadow Pizza and tomato soup with sour cream and my own body weight in black pepper were my 2 go to pregnancy meals. Balanced and nutritious it was not.

DD goes back to uni next week - I am going to miss her.

Today was a NSD until I bought a phone, sim card and wine. Work remediation kit - I figured I had better stop using my work phone for personal calls if they are going to get arsey. Wine is to watch Sewing Bee...

I also love YNAB Grin

Think this is the difference

Happierwithouthim · 14/04/2021 18:11

My photos aren't posting

Happierwithouthim · 14/04/2021 18:12

Basically difference between having a budget and being on a budget

SnugglySnerd · 14/04/2021 18:17

Nsd, hooray!

Wolfcub · 14/04/2021 18:32

The only food I could eat in pregnancy was a chicken tikka pizza from a particularly skanky takeaway I wouldn't normally frequent. I must have eaten a ridiculous amount of them. Anything else instant vomit.

Love a chip butty that was a great idea Madden. We would be having f&c tonight thanks to reading this but we are having them with dm tomorrow instead

Glad work is looking up Unescorted, glad the union have been good. Phone sounds sensible. I can't wait for sewing bee

Mad at work here too Life, an absolutely chaotic time

Sympathies to all those busy at work - mine has just settled for a few weeks and it’s been so nice to work 9-5 rather than my usual long hours. Don’t think it will last though. Great that people are starting to get out and about. I’m off this week and went for a lovely walk today somewhere I haven’t been before - the kids got really into wild swimming last year and we found a potential new spot. Also going to venture to the shops tomorrow!
Interesting discussion on newborns v older kids...I actually loved the tiny baby stage, but struggled with older babies and toddlers at times. Really feel for those of you coping with the exhaustion of small children, it seemed to go on for years. Teens can be quite reminiscent of toddlers though can’t they Smile

Mrsmadevans · 14/04/2021 18:55

Dd2 is finding working from home is not good for her back or neck or shoulders. She has a proper desk and chair and a lap table posh thing with USB ports on it but in work they are up and down all the time and here she finds she just slouches in misery , she misses going to work so much , she is so sociable , it's torture for her Hmm
Love a chip butty too but it has to be Butter!
NSD today yay! Grin

ememem84 · 14/04/2021 19:04

meadow treat pregnancy sickness like a hangover. So the foods you’re craving are just right. Listen to your body. If that’s what it wants I agree. Go with it. I didn’t have HG but felt nauseous constantly for the first 15 weeks both times. Salt and vinegar crisps chips and red coke helped. And fruit pastilles.

ememem84 · 14/04/2021 19:06

£56 dunelm. Fabric for cushions and cushion inserts.

Finished work for the week now. Pilates in a bit then riding tomorrow. Wahooo

shipsandgiggles · 14/04/2021 23:40

Hiya everyone, have been really busy lately just settling back into routine of being back at work. DD turns 2 tomorrow so we’ve also been getting things ready for that.

em I do think I look back at the newborn days with rose tinted glasses, it’s definitely hard work but I love being in a bubble for the first few weeks. I get very broody when I see newborns.

We went to the pub near us for tea today. Was lovely but I’m so tired now it’s a long walk.

Sorry for lack of personals super tired! Will catch up tomorrow.

£118.92 DD’s presents
£50.1 dinner

AmberItsACertainty · 15/04/2021 01:47

£300 car insurance. Could be worse.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/04/2021 06:54

I agree meadow, eat what you fancy.
I had really bad nausea with both mine and it was white carbs that got me through. I can't imagine the hell of hg.

£1.50 on squash yesterday and that's it. DD missed her riding lesson so will need to pay for it tonight

Get her to try pirates Mrs. Or just some stretches. Can she borrow kit from work to make it easier or will they pay for stuff for her to make her setup better.

Great idea on the chips. I love a butty but it's too much bread for me

Gensola · 15/04/2021 07:29

DH birthday today - we are having a meal prepared by our Airbnb host later, going for a long walk with Fish and chips for lunch from a beach cafe. We have eaten out a bit here and it’s dented the joint account so I’ll have some creative meal planning to do to get us to pay day! We do have a lot of stuff in the freezer at home, that plus a trip to Lidl for fresh veg should see us through.
