Hi meadow 👋! Wow congratulations on baby number 2! I saw your name pop up on one of the property threads recently. Really pleased to hear all is going well (apart from the HG!) x

maddenlightfoot · 12/04/2021 14:24

Meant to report... £21.30 on post walk drinks and crisps. So happy pubs are open again (despite us having to stand in a hailstorm 😂)

ememem84 · 12/04/2021 14:59

@MeadowHay weirdly i was thinking about you the other day! Massive congrats on baby no 2 - sorry to hear you're struggling with HG again, but hope you're keeping well otherwise.

How old's your dd now? and how far along are you?

xx

Lovemaltesers · 12/04/2021 15:15

Sorry to hear you are struggling meadow but congratulations too!

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/04/2021 16:34

Congrats meadow. Sorry about HG. Pop on as you wish

ememem84 · 12/04/2021 17:03

typical. my egg chair has arrived. and we've put it together. and its raining.

the box it came in is huge. so although it is cardboard recycling day tomorrow i'm letting the kids play with it when they get back this evening.

Unescorted · 12/04/2021 17:43

gen sounds nasty.

Meadow lovely to see you.

We have gone to our local.... one pint and decided that it was so cold that that was enough. They hadn't really thought out the service so one pint took an hour and a half. We are leaving it another couple of weeks to warm and speed up.

AmberItsACertainty · 12/04/2021 18:17

Hi to those I've not met before.

Sorry to hear your dad going downhill love.

Good luck with the IVF cycle Gen.

Congrats on your pregnancy Meadow.

Madden you went to the pub in a hailstorm?! You're hardcore. Respect.

Unescorted it's just that little bit too cold to sit outside still, despite the sun. And the snow we had the other day randomly for half hour before the sun returned.

Egg chair had me scratching my head a while em trying to work out WTF a chicken wants with a chair. In my defense I'm quite stressed and don't think my brain's playing ball today. Hope it turns out to be comfy when you finally get to sit in it in the sun.

I have sold stuff £110. One CF wanted a refund because it didn't fit. Told her No. Already told her that before purchase too. In what universe would I want to buy back something I don't need and have just sold?! Blocked her now.

NSD for ages except clothes which I don't need.

Car insurance coming up. Should do something to frugalize that. In reality I'll be pleased to settle for having some and not forgetting about it until a month after its expired.

I've been decluttering. My mindset is slowly altering and I'm finding it easier to let stuff go.

I'll be back to the thread properly in a few days. My lockdown internet addiction saw me burn through all my phone data allowance in record time. But at least I've broken the habit now.

Tried to meet up with a friend but the flakey cow didn't get back to me to confirm arrangements. When we eventually meet she'll be all Hi Stranger! like I've been avoiding her. Ah well, people are weird.

Mrsmadevans · 12/04/2021 18:17

MeadowHay · 12/04/2021 18:22

Thanks all. DD is 2 but 3 in June. DC2 is due in October, I'm about 15 weeks now. Been sick since 6 weeks and signed off work since then blergh.

Unescorted gosh what a wait for a pint! Even if I was better I deffo wouldn't be going going to outdoor hospitality atm as I hate the cold, you are a stronger woman than I! Grin

Unescorted · 12/04/2021 18:30

It was funny - you could see all the people going to pub b/c they had so many layers on. Puffer jackets are going to become a fashion staple.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/04/2021 19:09

The beer gardens round here are chokka too.
Cold but ok in the sun and out of the wind.
£140 school meals, think that's it today.

SnugglySnerd · 12/04/2021 20:26

I walked past the pub and saw all the blokes sitting outside with smart haircuts, they had obviously gone there straight from the barber's Grin

Lovely to see you Meadow and congratulations on baby no 2!

shipsandgiggles · 12/04/2021 22:15

Hiya, not been on much as I’ve been catching up with my work and completing my assignment. It was first day back at work after the holidays today, I’m exhausted. NSD.

marthasmum · 12/04/2021 23:27

Congratulations meadow on your pregnancy. Hyperemesis is absolutely grim though, I hope you are feeling better soon.
My small town was absolutely rammed today with the restrictions lifting...enjoyed having a little toot round the charity shops though (I’m on leave this week).
Inspired by the chat here I’ve done a full months meal planning! Sleep well all

Wolfcub · 13/04/2021 06:30

Congratulations Meadow, it's lovely to have you back

Morning.

Another cold day here. I am back to sleeping bag and hot water bottle for wfh. They are talking about working from the office again. I am not sure I am ready for that yet.

Baby snuggles are the best. Especially with someone else’s baby.

I’m not ashamed to say I do not miss my two being that little. Other people’s babies = great. My own? Nah. So glad we’re done with that.

Unescorted · 13/04/2021 06:53

You are right em other peoples babies are lovely. I am quite looking forward to being a grandma. It is the best of both worlds - improving my gene longevity and I get to give it back to the parents.

SnugglySnerd · 13/04/2021 08:28

I quite enjoyed the baby stage, the constant sick was hard work but I loved going for long walks/coffee/browsing shops while they slept in a pram and I loved the fact that I could put them down and leave them while I went to the loo or something and they were still in the same place when I got back! I found toddlers much harder.
I am actually really glad we are past the age when the whole day had to be planned around their naps though, and that I can now tell them to put their shoes on and get in the car and they just do it without me having to carry them/fight them to strap them in!

Should be nsd today.

SingToTheSky · 13/04/2021 08:56

Hey Meadow! Lovely to see you! I have name changed but if it helps place me, your DD is younger than my Cagletini 😁 congratulations on the pregnancy! Sorry HG is so awful, I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly 💐

MeadowHay · 13/04/2021 11:24

Thanks everyone Smile and thanks for the handy hint Sing haha Wink.

Yes I'm not a newborn fan either and I hate pregnancy so I wish a stork could just bring me a 1 yr old!

I am meant to do my first driving lesson today since the lockdown, my test is in a few weeks. Really not sure whether I will even be well enough to do the lessons and if it will be enough time to relearn everything but I thought I would give this week a go and if it goes pear shaped then I will have to admit defeat and rearrange my test I suppose. I really don't want to just because last time I checked there was a 4 month wait and if I don't pass before the baby comes I dunno how I'm going to do it because I won't have childcare for the baby while I'm on mat leave. I'm keeping to one hour lessons so fingers crossed I can do an hour behind the wheel without vomiting eek. I haven't even told my instructor yet poor thing, I didn't want to give him a chance to talk me out of it before I give a lesson a go.

Should be an NSD as just got driving lesson and if I'm well enough later will also pop to pharmacy for my meds but obviously get free prescriptions now wahoo.

ememem84 · 13/04/2021 11:54

How were you all yesterday with everything starting to open?

Lovemaltesers · 13/04/2021 13:27

We haven’t been anywhere yet that has reopened. Might go into town later in the week though.

Just tried to measure the DDs feet with our at home foot gauge. To find it is toddler size 😂 On the plus side, these foot gauges seem to be selling well on eBay so we’ve listed it on there.
