Rainb0w · 21/04/2020 18:31

£2 on drinks when on my walk with DH
£9 on a pizza for tea I just couldn't be bothered to cook

Wolfcub · 21/04/2020 18:48

Ocado shop arrived £220 Confused to be fair I can only get a delivery a fortnight so in that context it's not that bad but eeek it feels like shopping at Christmas

Happierwithouthim · 21/04/2020 19:02

Bet it feels great to be all stocked up

Lovemaltesers · 21/04/2020 19:16

Wrote a post but lost it. Basically NSD, went into work.

Hope you are feeling better sea and today has been better

Mmmmm lemon cake. I’m not much of a cook, but enjoy eating nice food 😋 Never considered carrot in a sandwich. Your food sounds yum mrs

north I think it was you who posted about DS and all the things that have been cancelled. So so hard for him. Most of them were all part of the leaving school, becoming an adult stuff so really disappointing for him and you too Flowers

Impressed at shepherds pie with rice snuggly. Frugal Star

Shopping bills seem to be going up. We are needing to get back in the mindset of only buying certain items when on offer, and not just because they are in stock on the shelf.

StraightOuttaCamden · 21/04/2020 20:14

Hey everyone!

Love - did you dread going into work today? I went into today as well , I drove in as wasn't comfortable with the tube, it was ok and kept me busy and I'm going back in again tomorrow.

Wolf - I'd love to do my whole shop with Ocado/Waitrose, but Dh would have a heart attack if I spent that much on food shopping.

We had Katsu curry for dinner tonight, needed something quick and straightforward, going into work has put a spanner in the works with regards to meal planning, so I've had to juggle things around a bit.

Snuggly - can I ask what you put in the bean casserole? Sounds like something dd would like.

Happier - some (most) days I think I've had an nsd because I haven't been out, then I remember that I've ordered something online Confused enjoy the books!

Call - your boys are super cute, the youngest really reminds me of my oldest son, he's 23 now so it was a long time ago that he was that small, well jell of the chip shop dinner, nothings opened here yet.

Christmas- hope today was a better day for you Thanks

Dd1 has missed me today so we are catching up with Daily Kitchen, we usually watch it in the mornings and I know many people here aren't too keen on Jack, but I really like her.

Good news is the utility room is even closer to completion, still need the sink and plumbing done then the washing machine can go in. I'm so excited, I've put everything away in the cupboards.

Hope everyone here can enjoy the evening.

Ohhhhh errrrrgghhghhghgghghg… that is the sound of my brain taking a breath after a looooooooong day.

I bought pizza and wine and an essential carton of milk.

Em , Give & Happier you need my job. I get to swan about building sites when the weather is nice and sit inside when it is not so nice. This is going to sound terrible.... but there are a couple of sites I visit more often, just to look at the view. I am so shallow.

Thanks for the carrot recipes.... you know how I said they weren't the best quality? Well they are even worse now. A good proportion are being fast tracked to the compost. The rest have been chopped and put in the freezer. I will process them into roasts and soup (like the peanut butter one em ). They don't deserve to be cake.

I thought I had upset one of my friends the other day - so I swallowed my pride and called her to apologise. Only to find she wasn't upset at all.... I burst into tears with relief & nearly crashed the car. Moral of that story - don't drink wine & FB at the same time.

Lovemaltesers · 21/04/2020 21:01

I barely slept last night at the thought of going in camden, I definitely had the fear. Not C19 fear, but job fear. But, I got loads of work done, answered a few questions from some nice staff and felt the most productive (work wise) in weeks. I’ve been told I need to go in once a week now.

Ooooh, loving the progress on the building work too!

When we self isolated for two weeks, we had three bags of carrots in the fridge. DP planned for a carrot shortage 😂 Fortunately DD2 loves them!

I love an Ocado shop, but only can justify the nice stuff once a month. Otherwise tesco is better value for what we buy.

Lovemaltesers · 21/04/2020 21:05

I can’t remember who said this, but my DC are definitely in the nugget and chips camp or a cheese roll is the ultimate food! DP and I eat food with flavour, but happy to eat the nuggets too and pudding

Mrsmadevans · 21/04/2020 21:09

Give your Dad's are just heart warningly gorgeous and I really mean that. Such sweet looking little boys 🧡🤗
Where is North? l haven't seen her here the last few days it is it me not seeing her? Hope she is ok Smile
Wolf l am not shocked at £220 because l am spending about 150 a week feeding 6 adults 1 vegan , she's very expensive tastes 🙄 and 2 cats who like prawns and Felix 😁

Unescorted · 21/04/2020 21:13

I saw a nurse today outside the Sainsbury's today - he was waiting for his lift to work. He looked as if he had the fear, like a small child on their first day at school. I just wanted to give him a hug & tell him it would be OK. I cannot imagine what it is like you guys in the medical / care professions. xxx

Giveme yes there were lots of toiletries and bathroom bits. Four bottles of wine (trust me I need this ds has knocked a lump out of the wall in the only nicely decorated room in the house. He is not coping with lockdown I need wine)
Loads of meat. Plenty storecupboard stuff and fruit and veg. I think three full delivery crates worth.

Mrs there are only two of us though. 150 for 6 adults seems quite reasonable to me.

Oh Wolf l don't think that was too bad tbh, with 4 bottles of wine and lots of meat as well. We don't buy any wine in that 150 so l don't think it's unreasonable and the security of a grocery delivery is worth a tenner at least Smile

Lovemaltesers · 21/04/2020 21:42

Yeah unescorted, the medical/care professionals are defo allowed to have the fear.

I have just spent the last few minutes crying with laughter as someone reads the book “Brenda’s beaver needs a barber”. ‘It’s on YouTube.

Mrsmadevans · 21/04/2020 21:43

Give they are beautiful boys, no need to thank me l am only speaking the truth, thank you for sharing their pictures with us Smile
It's bought a smile to my face Smile

Lovemaltesers · 21/04/2020 22:14

FB regrets are definitely real give

Unescorted · 21/04/2020 22:38

give fortunately it was just a messenger post about our dickhead of a local MP. I am not going to try searching anything /one on FB.

Unescorted · 21/04/2020 22:39

wolf wine is deserved in the circumstances....

ChristmasSeacow · 21/04/2020 22:49

Ouch Give!

Camden that utility room is nicer than my kitchen. Probably bigger too! So glad things are coming together for you after the nightmare you’ve had

£150pw is good Mrs! I am a candidate for ‘eat well for less’ at the moment BlushGrin. Defo not buying convenience stuff, but just Too Much. And too many naice treats.

Today has been much better, thanks everyone.

  1. I had 6.5 hours sleep - bloody luxury
  2. We went to see the bluebells early before work - was gorgeous. (dS was a bit het up and uncooperative but DD loved it!). See iPhone snap attached. I feel very lucky to have this on my doorstep - and in London too!
  3. My new external keyboard has arrived, so I can now type ‘v’s. As I work for the nhs and there’s a ‘v’ in COVID this will make my working life immeasurably better Grin
  4. MY BREAD MAKER HAS ARRIVED! I am sooo excited. Going to test it out tomorrow (or the next day, if I can wait, as we have half a loaf to use first). What should I make first?! I am so excited. Did I mention I was excited?

I have to present the paper I wrote over the weekend tomorrow to the board. I think it’s going to get a challenging reception. I’m trying not to think about it in case it stops me sleeping.

My diary is mad for the next couple of days. I’m not meant to be full time so I’m not going to work on Friday. Yay!

Hi everyone.
Em aww at ds enjoying the crane, its so lovely to see their bewilderment, isn't it?

Give, your boys are so handsome and that was very kind of your neighbour to share their green space with you.

Wolf I have an ocado delivery coming Sunday and can amend it up until Friday. It's at £87 and will go up a bit more as I add more bits. Food has definitely gone up, I had to do a top up shop today and that cost me £26 and that was just on some fruit, (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, so admittedly more expensive fruit), dd eats them everyday and I don't want her to worry that we can't get it. Cereal, cows milk, coconut milk, (which hasn't been on offer for ages so cost £1.80 each, I got three), two different types of squash some ham, vegan plain yogurt and a pizza for the kids lunch tomorrow.

Camden, wow brilliant progress, you sound so happy! I've been watching daily kitchen too and I think Jack is great!

Unescorted, glad your friend wasn't upset. That poor nurse, I would want to give them a hug too.

Sea, so glad you got to go and see the beautiful bluebells! Also very pleased to hear that you got some decent sleep. You sound so positive!

Wolfcub · 22/04/2020 06:50

Sea good luck with the board are there one or two board members you can have a quiet word with beforehand to get them onside in addition to whoever sponsored your paper?

I have an all day course virtually today. It will need concentration as well as doing practical applications of what is learnt. I have no idea how I'm going to manage that and ds today

Lovely bluebells

Must try and do Pilates later too as my back is a mess and finish writing a quiz for work colleagues
