That sand just shouts out play area to me.

Nice utility room

Good luck with the paper sea.

Wolf have a big hug. £220 for 2 weeks sounds about right for us too. If not more as there are 4 of us and food is Defo going up. .DH is doing online training all day yesterday and today with an exam. It's not going well. I'm taking leave and taking ds out.

Lovely bluebells. I love a bluebell wood.

Need to pay £16 at some point for the gym in may

ememem84 · 22/04/2020 07:48

Sand does scream play area doesn’t it. Dh is building a wall though. Pavers are coming up and being redeployed as a wall. This my mess of a garden at present.

Camden the casserole was a bit of a concoction using up odd veg. It definitely had carrots and a parsnip and I think some swede then tins of butter beans and green lentils and tomatoes and a bit of red wine.

They are doing lockdown bingo on the Absolute breakfast show this morning!

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 22/04/2020 08:49

Morning everyone, I was back with the community nurses Ystd, everyone seemed a bit more relaxed than before my leave so that was nice. Think where we live there a very few cases so the risk feels low.

Family zoom quiz night last night, we came 2nd!! And it's our turn to host next week 😬

Our food bill has def gone up but that's because I'm buying more treats to make lockdown a tiny bit more bearable.

Anyone got any suggestions for what I can do with a random tin of coconut milk? I was thinking a curry?

Bornlazy · 22/04/2020 09:01

Isn’t it funny how these strange times have all the men doing random DIY. My dh built shelves for our garage using an old wardrobe on a complete whim and now he’s ordered stuff to fix the spindles on our decking that have been broken for years. I’m a bit worried that we’ll see an increase in DIY related accidents as lots of people seem to be up ladders doing roof repairs, cleaning gutters etc.

Yesterday I spent £150 in Lidl 😱 how is that even possible? £25 of that was for my dm but still. I didn’t even buy any of the random crap and only 2 bottles of wine so not even loads on alcohol. I think I was giddy with the excitement of being out the house and it was nice and quiet so I didn’t feel like I was having to try hard to avoid people.

Give your boys are lovely and how nice for them to be eating alfresco.

Sea lovely woods. Everyday we walk down to our local park now and I had never really appreciated how nice it actually is. Yesterday I was actually frightened by the boldness of the birds when we were feeding them. I’ll post a picture to let you all see them.

Camden I love your utility room. When this is all over I am definitely getting a new kitchen.

I think I curry too Girlie, maybe a Thai curry. We get through a lot of tinned coconut milk but I can't quite think what we do with it. If I think of something later I'll let you know.

For those of you that are green fingered unescorted girlie I'm talking to you Grin I've been admiring flowers lately and thinking of my new house. I'd love to plant a patch which will take minimal effort. My last house I just did shrubs with plastic and chips so that it needed very little work. However was close to sea so limited with what I could plant.

I'd love a patch which had stuff come up annually, snowdrops followed by daffodils, bluebells, tulips(these are just what I've noticed this year so far) and provide a mass of colour, is it possible to plant all of these in the same patch of ground?? I'm fortunate I suppose that au pair likes gardening but I'd just like to put my own stamp on some of it.

Should I just post on gardening section?

Mrsmadevans · 22/04/2020 16:46

Afternoon everyone Smile
Another gorgeous day Grin been to pick up our click and collect from Tesco. So it wasn't too bad,no flour, no cat food and no bananas.
No subs so it was excellent really tbf to them Smile
Just had a renewal for Admiral too it was £285 . That is for 3 of us driving. My Dd2 is classed as a young driver still . It beat everyone else hands down and l did many price comparison quotes Smile
We had them last year as well , they were the cheapest then too. They are giving policy holders 25 back because there are no accidents Hmm
You know l would be up for them to have an option to give it to the NHS charities , just a thought they may do it yet. Smile
Shopping was £72 , 13 of which was My NDN and 15 was Mum & Bob's so it was 44 for us Smile
I have never spent so much on food in my life before, l know things are expensive but the bargains are non existant now and l used to shop around using My Supermarket app, even that has gone now though. Hot Uk deals does a few deals but with the uncertainty of what you are going to actually get in the order it's all higgledy piggledy Grin
I find l go into hunter gatherer mode & I have a c&c for the next two weeks but l am hoping after that l will be able to go to Aldi , l really need a good shop in the middle aisles Grin I miss looking at all the tat bargains Grin

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 22/04/2020 16:48

Happier what's your climate like where you are generally? My low maintenance plants are budleja (butterflies love them, hack them back in winter) roses need surprisingly little maintenance and wallflowers give a lovely display of colour all summer. With bulbs just buy what you like the look of and put them in the ground, you really can't go wrong!!

We're just back from a long walk, it's absolutely beautiful here today like summer.

Spent around £5 on ice creams and posting a small parcel.

Some flowers from my garden...

We're with admiral too and they've beat our renewal hands down too slightly more expensive on my car for me but a couple of hundred pounds cheaper for my husbands car and definitely impressed with the £25 back for my current policy am planning on buying food for our food Bank.

Today's expenditure £30 for food shopping as I've brought a bit of a treat tea for tonight and some bits and bobs.

I'm now browsing the British Airways website dreaming of sunnier days!

Mrsmadevans · 22/04/2020 17:30

Ahh that is lovely Rainbow Flowers . l will donate mine to Ty Hafan , I have decided it's Wales only Children's Hospice Smile

Happierwithouthim · 22/04/2020 18:31

Girlie all of those are just beautiful, the pink hearts are stunning!!
Ireland is generally wet, although climate is changing. This house shouldn't be as exposed to wind off the Atlantic Ocean as my previous house was.

95c spent posting a letter today.

Chatted to my mother for an hour on the phone, I'm tired but think I'll start off my dinner now & put it in oven to finish off while I'm out walking. I never made the meatballs yesterday mad so I'll do it now. Made leek & potato soup in pressure cooker & brown scones to go with it instead last night.

ChristmasSeacow · 22/04/2020 19:13

Lovely flowers Girlie. I have a dicentra that’s just getting into its stride, I love them. My garden isn’t super colourful yet but I have some beautiful foliage - attached is the view of my small shed with my lovely Acer in front of it. I just love the colours. The huge conifer behind the shed (not in my garden) also has wisteria all over it! My roses are about to come out and clematis too, so it’ll be lovely before long, fingers crossed. I’m going to plant more bulbs in the autumn for next year.

The board Presentation of my paper was a bit muddled today thanks to losing my internet connection at a critical moment Hmm. Also CEO wanted my paper to have been shorter - so did I!!! But they didn’t tell me that’s what they wanted 😬. Anyway. Proposal was agreed so that’s something. But another project has been delayed due to covid and I have some very disappointed people in my team as a result. Hey ho. Another busy day tomorrow and then I’m going to try not to work on Friday.

I have ditched the crap food and am trying to get back to healthy eating. Right now my body is wondering where all the sugar has gone 😫 . I need to knock something up for dinner with chicken breasts and whatever veg I can find - maybe a lemony rice thingy? - and then head to Sainsbury's tomorrow. I couldn’t get an Ocado slot till Sunday and we’re running out of fresh stuff. Especially if I’m trying to be healthy.

Anyone got any good ideas for easy, tasty low fat meals? I am compiling a list of meals I like, to help with the ‘blank brain’ when faced with weekly meal planning. I especially love one-pot or quick stuff for the after-work flurry, but any ideas are welcome. I need to get out of my rut.

Bread maker is going on tomorrow
