Yes that's the one Lane. I was thinking of going back through the previous ones too.

Just had a lucky find - some travel kids'board games that we got in some Happy Meals before xmas I think. Cluedo, Monopoly and Connect 4. That will give e us something to do later.

Hi all.
We did go on a bike ride yesterday around the park, everything was going well until dd2 followed her brother onto a gravelly bit and fell off, cutting her knee, so we came home and cleaned it as best as we could. She is in the bath now soaking it, I'm hoping that if there was any dirt that I missed, it will all come out.

I'm also a bit saddle sore!

Snuggly I forgot to thank you about the cooking time for the casserole, so thanks! I'm going to cook it either tomorrow or Sunday.

Give and love really glad you got the school's you wanted!

Wolf, sorry you are having a tough time, switching off for a bit sounds like a good idea Flowers

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/04/2020 10:56

Give, hope the call goes well with your counsellor.

StraightOuttaCamden · 17/04/2020 11:38

Duchess - could the bird be a Kite? Depending on your location, they are spreading further south now and we regularly see one or two here and we are not too far from London.

We see this fella everyday - I think it's an Egret, he comes around this time of year and stays a while, looks like a small Stork or Heron.

Yesterday was a much more productive day and I moved off the sofa, dd1 helped me to sort out the larder cupboard and we found a jar with a brst before of June 2015 - she was horrified Smile now I just need to keep at it.

Chicken and Chorizo casserole for dinner - not sure how it'll go down with ds and Dh and I'm going to make a Mediterranean veg casserole with cous cous for dd2.

I ordered a Ninja blender and it arrived yesterday so dcs have been making smoothies, frozen juices and milkshakes. I'm spending way too much on food, but I'm
Trying not to go out too often so buying more than I usually would as I'm not topping up.

Hope everyone that's still working get to have a nice break this weekend.

Camden, I also ordered a ninja bullet, it came Wednesday, but I haven't used it yet.

Give, thank you, her knee looks better and I couldn't see anything.

I'm a first aided (I'm an early years educator), so I didn't panic too much!
But its always worse when it's your own!

StraightOuttaCamden · 17/04/2020 14:25

Give- most of my family would rather eat chicken nuggets, Dh asked what was for dinner tonight and when I told him he replied he was hoping for pizza and chips! As I'm not currently working I'm persevering and insist on 'proper' food, although the washing up it creates is mind blowing, we seem to use every single pot and pan going!

Curvy - which one did you get? I went for the cheapest Auto iq one, comes with the jug and three containers, I'm a bit nervous about using it for savoury food as I don't want it to become tinged with onion or garlic, but it would be great for base mixes and pasta sauces etc, I might look into buying another jug.

I've got a click and collect order waiting at Sainsbury's- just underwear that was desperately needed, but the queues are so long I'm going to wait until I actually need some shopping before I collect.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/04/2020 15:01

Camden, I got the nutri ninja, it just comes with two cups.
I was looking at the jug ones, but I have a food processor already and didn't want to spend lots of money, plus I don't have a lot of counter space as it is.
Plus it was on offer, it was only 30 quid, so that will do for us.
Could you just not use the jug for savoury stuff and use the cups for sweet stuff and smoothies?

ememem84 · 17/04/2020 15:15

ememem84 · 17/04/2020 15:48

StraightOuttaCamden · 17/04/2020 16:22

Curvy - the jug has different blade for crushing ice which was the main reason for buying it, I looked at buying an extra jug but it's £29.99 so I don't think I'll bother!!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/04/2020 17:03

Oh I see Camden, I thought you could use it as a food processor! That is quite a bit extra to pay!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/04/2020 17:27

£74 b&m mostly paint, decorating and some soil.
£18 Iceland, £48 Aldi but got sr and plain flour.
£100 Sainsbury's later but loads of subs I don't want so I'm ringing for a refund late

Yes you can make plain into SR. I think I it's 1 teaspoon raising agent to 250g flour.

No other spends planned until more food needed next week.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/04/2020 17:57

I like the pink Em! Are you a bit alarmed by it or happy?

Work work work today and I’ll have to work over the weekend. I shall be slacking off next week though and giving some time back to the kids. I am trying to think positively of it as flexible working and ignoring the state of my house

Now, advice please. I think we might finally get DS a tablet of his own. I’d like to be able to load some music, audiobooks and apps that think he would like. Don’t really want internet /YouTube but I think that’s unavoidable. I’ve only ever used an iPad because my experience of other Platforms (for work etc) has never before as good, but I think it’s a bit much to spend for a 7-yr old! Can I use a different thingy, like a kindle fire, on my apple account to access apps etc I’ve already paid for without paying again? Or if I went with an Android advice would I need to buy everything again? And would anyone recommend any particular devices? Sorry, I’m clueless!

No idea what we’re having for dinner. I’m seriously tempted by a Chinese takeaway if I can persuade DH. Friday nights are the highlight of my week!

ememem84 · 17/04/2020 18:09

Love. It.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/04/2020 18:12

Lovely colour em.

Sea, I don't know about the transfer between apple and android either.
But my eldest had a kindle fire and it was really good, the others have had Samsung tablets and they have always proformed well.
I have an apple mini ipad for work, which I don't really like, but have kind of got use to it.
I know you can buy reconditioned iPads, would that be an option?

We did Kindle fire d for the DC and they are decent enough

LaneBoy · 17/04/2020 19:22

wow love it em

give I’ve tried other quizzes too but tbh the ones on FB live and apps never seem to do anything but buffer and crash. This YouTube one was just nicer because no tech issues to contend with, just writing down answers and marking it after.

I’ve done some decluttering today so feeling quite good.

Unescorted · 17/04/2020 19:29

Evening peoples.

Love the hair em

We are definitely a chicken nugget and chip household here. I try occasionally to serve vegetables but they get stirred around the plate.

I have nearly finished breaking up the compacted clay in the back garden and digging in compost . It has been a labour of love... I love the texture and smell of good soils. And then when it rains after being dry I love the musky minty smell as the aromatic organic acids are released. To keep the girls happy (they don't appreciate my mud obsession) I have planted a hanging basket of white fuchsia, pastel blue and pink trailing lobelia, dark blue and burgundy viola and a dark pink petunia.

Sea dh has both an iPad and an android device - he and the boy are out wild camping tonight, but I will ask him in the morning when they get back.
