Give, yes I will celebrate later, might have a little drink tonight too.
Unescorted, hope DD2 is settling in and ignore the neighbours.
Thanks for the kind messages lane and life.
Checked the Twitter account today and the park is open! So we will go there a bit later, just waiting for a parcel to come.
Camden, does dd like eggs? You could do an omelette with peppers and onions.
Black bean wraps with salad.
Sweet potato curry.
Big salad with chickpeas?
Would she go for any of those?

SnugglySnerd · 15/04/2020 10:41

I made a lovely veggie casserole last night with onions, carrots, celery and various bits of veg e.g. a parsnip, half a swede and half a sweet potato. Added a tin of green lentils and a tin of butter bean. Cooked with a tin of tomatoes, a bit of red wine and some water. It made loads, have frozen 2 portions and we all had seconds. Would she like someting like that?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/04/2020 10:52

Snuggly that sounds lovely, I would eat that! Sadly my two at home wouldn't.
How long did you leave it in the oven?

StraightOuttaCamden · 15/04/2020 10:57

Thanks curvy & snerd, she really likes eggs so that's a great idea, and also the veggie casserole, I just feel a bit bad that she's not getting enough veg in her diet, also everyone else will eat those. Sweet potato and butternut curry is a favourite too!

Just had some really sad news, my Aunts partner passed away from the corona virus last night, he'd been on a ventilator in hospital since last week, my aunt couldn't visit him and was self isolating at home - such a sad situation, he was only in his 50's with no health conditions. Nobody can visit her and she's all alone.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/04/2020 10:59

Oh Camden, I'm so sorry, that is just so sad Flowers

ememem84 · 15/04/2020 11:12

Oh that is sad camden

cag I love that!!! So true!!! It’s also the “shove a smart top on but leave joggers on bottom!” Thing with video chats!

In other positive news dm’s friends husband who was in icu with corona is now on a normal ward. So that’s a good sign.

Wolfcub · 15/04/2020 11:30

Camden so sorry to hear that that's terribly sad Thanks

Sorry to hear that Camden

LaneBoy · 15/04/2020 12:34

Oh camden that’s really sad I’m sorry :(

Em :o DH had a video interview once and it was smart blue shirt and trackie bottoms :o I’ve not decided where in the house I’ll sit for therapy tomorrow.

Just had a lovely walk, there’s a lake (keep meaning to look up the size threshold between pond and lake 🤔) in a sort of meadowy bit about ten minutes walk away, I’ve never been there before! Saw ducklings, various butterflies and two buzzards :)

Unescorted · 15/04/2020 13:03

Camden that is sad. 50 is no age at all.

Lovemaltesers · 15/04/2020 18:37

So sorry to hear that camden Flowers

We find out about middle school place tomorrow too give. Hope you get the school you want. We’re uncertain at the moment whether the chosen school will work as I’m concerned my childminder may not work if the shielding group are still shielding. Too many variables at the moment!

£147 in Tesco, included my mums shopping and three pairs of summer PJs for DDs and the new David Walliams book. It still makes my eyes water each time I do my mums shopping too when I pay. My mum confessed earlier she eats one tube of Pringles per day!

I’m also wondering whether to buy the DDs their school summer dresses. I suspect if I leave it too late they may be out of stock, but alternative is they don’t get worn Hmm.

northender · 15/04/2020 18:45

Fingers crossed for good school news give
Glad dd2 is safe with you now unescorted. If the neighbours want to talk, let them!
I've felt quite low the past few days, partly PMT and partly the situation I think. Keeping going though.
Dd made tea tonight as I'd been in work. It was nice, pasta, left over chicken, pesto & cream.
Doing my 7am NHS grocery shop in the morning. Shouldn't be such a hefty price this week as we are pretty well stocked.

northender · 15/04/2020 18:45

Sorry to hear your news camden

Mrsmadevans · 15/04/2020 19:10

Afternoon everyone Smile
Camden that is dreadful, so young l am so sorry Flowers
Been to see to Mum & Bob, Dh was a good un and helped Bob to cut his grass, it was getting very long. They seemed fine there, did loads of washing and hanging out for them, tidying and cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen. Cat's are sorted at last. l found a filter for the cat's fountain so l dont have to change the water everyday now.
Imagine me changing the water in it everyday..... there is water , water everywhere & n'eer a drop to drink Grin
Have mixed a jar of decaff in with Bob's normal coffee tin Grin .l thought l would do it now while there is a possibility of them not being able to detect it because l have no hope of getting to Sainsbury's to buy another for him so he will have to have Asda's pretend gold blend when l have my Asda C&C on Saturday. Not keen on Asda but l am desperate so any shop slot will do Grin cannot get a Tesco slot for love nor money!
Got Mum's meds , had to queue for ages outside for them , at least they were all there though! Made her ring her friends , they were all worried about because they can't reach her at Bob's, no mob signal and his main line is dicky at the best of times Hmm. Her one friend is in Hospital non CV19 related thankfully . She is much better and will be home soon fingers crossed. Her other friend wanted pics taken of her garden for me to send to the grandchildren , she has done Easter decs and a fairy garden for them but they can't come to see them bless her, so have sent them to her Dil via her Fb page.
Unescorted that is so kind of you to look out for Dd2 bless you , l laughed at the queue of parents horror at the non drowsy Piriton Grin
Give & Love good luck with the school selection Smile
North Bess you, it is tough l know and for you in work as well Flowers
Lane your walk sounds wonderful Smile
Em marvelous news YAY!
NDN still in hospital just took a package in for him bless him hope he is home soon Smile
NSD AGAIN TODAY! Shock Have a parcel with a lot of books in from The Book People closing down sale Sad , l am waiting for the quarrantine time to pass another 2 days then l am in there like a rat up a drainpipe , or like Unescorted's resident mouse Grin
Better shift, tea to do , washing to fold but not put away l hate that job Grin

Camden that’s awful, no age at all Sad

Good luck with school news for those waiting. And Flowers for North. It is rather shit and we are all up and down, I think. I am so fretful about the economy and what this will do to the prospects of a whole generation.

I have two big work deadlines this week so not managing to write much, but reading is keeping me company so thanks for the chat!

Things have thawed a bit with DH because I’m not good at sustained sulking but he is still just not very useful. I am considering giving him the Ocado password and inviting him to crack on and feed us for a week. Except I really hate shit food HmmGrin

Today I have been very thankful for the allure of kinetic sand. Lots of crap and neglectful parenting here this week, am planning to clear the decks a bit and prioritise the kids next week.

Am trying, between work sessions, to buy a desk. All out of stock anywhere reasonable. Argh!

£30 last night on sending some flowers to my mum, just because we miss her. Also bought some TouchNote tokens and sent easter egg hunt picture postcards of the kids to all the elderly relatives. Many of them are shielding and I thought they’d appreciate a bit of post. I think that was about £10.

Unescorted · 15/04/2020 19:38

We have had the most amazing BBQ. Lots of sun & silliness. Our NDN has been amazing. We had explained with scant information that DD2 was staying with us & because we share a path she had clocked the police dropping her off last night and coming around for statements this morning. NDN has not asked questions but has told the village FB busybodies to wind their necks in as they do not know the situation.

MrsM you are lovely. I love the mix and match coffee. Advance planning like that you should be programme / project manager.

Curvy glad the park is open again - this weather is due to stick around for a while so it would be a shame to not have a place to go outside.

Fingers & toes crossed for tomorrow Give & Love
North I find it goes in waves. Some days I am up for never setting foot outside again and others I am scratching the back of the door like a Tom cat on steroids.

Unescorted · 15/04/2020 19:48

give I was about to suggest making Marshmallow and making snowmen - and then looked at the recipe and realised you need Unicorn sparkles, a million eggs, caster sugar and a forest of gelatine leaf. Not a lockdown activity I suspect. Maybe meringue versions instead.

Sea just steal the one in your shared office.... he will not notice the difference if you put the washing pile under his computer. If he is anything like mine he has been unable to see washing since birth - he will just think it is some weird levitating desk thing.

Happierwithouthim · 15/04/2020 20:01

Camden I made a lovely salad with couscous peppers avocado sundried tomatoes & feta & some balsamic vinegar served it cold with some warmed falafels, would she go for something like this?
Poached eggs on bagel with red onion relish/spicy tomato relish is a filling tasty breakfast Smile

Condolences for your aunts loss Sad

Happierwithouthim · 15/04/2020 20:18

Today I had a plumber visit & it was amazing not to have to think of cost of it, I haven't rented since early 2006!

StraightOuttaCamden · 15/04/2020 20:54

Thanks everyone for the messages.

Another uneventful day here, my mum messaged me to let me know the news and we had a back and forth WhatsApp convo which was nice because we don't have a great relationship, I can't remember the last time she called me, we can go months without seeing each other or speaking, I know it's odd and it's a shame really because she has the same kind of relationship with all my siblings as far as I'm aware. I'm missing out but so is she, it's made me 100% certain that I won't have the same relationship with my children when they are all adults.

How are you all filling your days if not working? Especially if your dc's are teens, I lack motivation to do anything at all most days, today I've deep cleaned the en-suite and hoovered my bedroom, I clean the kitchen every day so that's no biggie and dd1 helps with that too. Upstairs is pretty tidy most of the time as the dcs have their own rooms and so they keep them kind of clean and in order mostly. No idea how I managed to be on the tube by 6:30 when I was working, and def no idea how I'll manage once the office is open again!

I made a really nice beef stir fry for dinner, it was basically soy, honey ginger and garlic with sesame. I'd been cooking quite basic meals whilst I was at work/commuting because planning shopping and then cooking took up too much time. I'm still quite concerned about my job as they keep changing things and adding extra stuff into the current offer which is bit unsettling.

Good luck to everyone waiting on school places, it's a kind of exciting but anxious time I know.
