Oh happier - that sounds delicious, she's pretty good with salad and stuff, when I say she's fussy it's mostly with processed stuff like quorn or meat free versions of things, I've actually got lots of couscous in and could give her that with some potato salad or a small jacket spud and she'd be very happy, I'm going to try her at the weekendGrin

Camden your poor Aunt. What a desperately sad situation Flowers

Unescorted that’s a lovely thing to do for dd2. You wonder how many young (or old) people are trapped in households where they don’t feel safe during this lockdown.

Sea could you use a cheap garden table as a makeshift desk? Or you take the good desk and give it to dh?

Camden I am on holiday this week - we get a stupid amount (35 plus stats = 42) so I fancied a week of duvet days and switching the phone off. I have been revamping mine and give's garden. It has been amazing - weather great, help from the teens, vit D and yeah life is good. I go back to work on Monday :( although I get lunch and commute is my time. Teens help a bit, spend time on computers, game consoles et al. Our standards have slipped but life is good.

give let me know what you want planting - I am thinking in the shady corner to put some Meconopsis - just because I think we can and not vey many people have the conditions for them. They are the most beautiful blue. Also a fern collection and some hellebores or hosta.

Give - I can recommend Unorthodox on Netflix if you have t already seen it, although some of it is subtitles as it flips between Yiddish and English it's a very good mini series.

Are you and Unescorted neighbours? Sounds like fun if you are, how nice to have someone to give your garden a makeover, mines in a right mess because of building work but Dh and fil have put the hours in to bring it back to useable, the ground is clay so it's not great for growing or planting though, currently there are no borders or anything to pretty to look at, I'm hoping to get some hanging baskets and maybe some planters soon though.

I have give in London - although could be wrong. I live in the Dark Peak. .

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/04/2020 22:49

Dd on her roller blades!
We had a great time at the park, it wasn't too busy and everyone were observing the rules.
We are going back tomorrow, but all on bikes. I have pumped all the tires, replaced the back brake pads on mine, oiled what needed oiling, tighted anything that needed it.
I feel quite proud of that because the ex always did those things.

Roller blades are one of those things I want to have a go at. I am not sure it is possible.... without falling on my arse.

Wolfcub · 15/04/2020 22:55

I once went on a date on roller blades. I rolled myself into a concrete bollard

Haha, I cannot skate at all, when I was a child my mum tried to teach me, but I just kept falling, so my aunt thought it would be a good idea to take me ice skating, well that didn't help and I ended up with a very wet and numb arse.
I tried ice skating again a few years ago, with the kids, but failed miserably, luckily all my other children can skate well, so the little one was ok!

I didn't learn to ride a bike until I was 10 and I can't swim, I seem to have a real problem with coordination, don't I? But at least I can enjoy a bike ride with them!

Unescorted · 16/04/2020 07:20

Curvy cycling is the one that matters. Grin

I nearly forgot about the bins - I was that mad woman at half 5 and half dressed. It would have been a catastrophe if it hadn't been collected - it was overflowing & couldn't have lasted another fortnight.

SnugglySnerd · 16/04/2020 07:27

I loved roller skating as a child! I had a go a couple of years ago and I was useless! I did however take dd1 ice skating at Christmas and we had a great time.
I haven't got out of bed yet. Feel a bit guilty as dh has got up with the dcs every day this week so far. I think he's putting the TV on for them and logging into his work email etc though.

ememem84 · 16/04/2020 07:41

I’m awake but not out of bed yet. Both dc still sleeping. Dh and I have tea in bed. Yay. Catface fed and let out (she uses her cat flap as a window and likes to use the big door....ffs)

Work again today. Then a day off then the weekend! Wahooo.

Tried to do an order on next. But everything I want is out of stock. So will try again in a week or so.

Unescorted · 16/04/2020 08:13

We have just had THE most scrumptious mushroom and bacon sandwiches. Hint of garlic and thyme, just the right amount of saltiness, crispiness, butteriness and yumminess. Coffee on the side... the sun is shining, birds singing all is good in our little world.

Unescorted · 16/04/2020 08:14

em I am sure I read somewhere that Next is suspending online ordering to let their warehouse catch up.

Wolfcub · 16/04/2020 08:40

Unescorted find a carrier pigeon and send one of those sandwiches my way.

unescorted yes they are - only letting a certain number of orders in each morning. You’re advised to pop thjngs in your favourites and then go from there.

Obviously if you go in early enough you get what you want. But I didn’t.

Never mind.

Feeling much brighter this morning, PMT was a killer this time I think.
unescorted that breakfast sounds delish. I'm having a lovely smoothie & the last of the hot cross buns, toasted.
Went shopping this morning for the weekly grocery shop. It was much less this week as we are pretty well stocked. Big success was that there was yeast, woohoo! My mum has made her own bread all her married life and was running low, so I'm really happy to have got it. I got a tin for myself too which will last ages.
Last night I found a bag of wholemeal bread flour I had forgotten about at the back of the cupboard. So, the creation of a sourdough starter has begun! Thanks for the offer unescorted but hopefully will have our own soon.
Mum messaged me this morning to say she has done 21 laps of the garden already today. She started about 10 days ago with 3 laps which tired her out so 21 is amazing & it's a big garden too. She is 80 and shielding due to her health problems. Technically she's not supposed to even go into the garden, but she & my dad don't get on well, they live in a very rural location so her garden is keeping her sane (and fit!).

StraightOuttaCamden · 16/04/2020 10:03

Great news give Smile

North - your mum sounds great, I wonder if she'll keep up the laps once lockdown is relaxed and after her 12 weeks?

Watching daily kitchen with Jack Monroe right now, hoping for some meal time inspiration.

Have a great day all!

Lovemaltesers · 16/04/2020 10:19

Glad you are feeling brighter north and 👍 to your mum

Glad you got the school place you wanted give, we got ours too

DP fried some sliced beef and some ropey looking mushrooms for lunch yesterday, was pretty good. Yours sounds amazing unescorted

Unescorted · 16/04/2020 11:40

Wooooop! Give & Love that is great news.

North I am glad things are happier in your world. My garden has been my saviour so I know how your mum feels. I am almost finished digging the clay out of the back garden. Another hour or so & I will be done. Then it is off to buy compost - I will just have to think of an essentials list too.

Wolf I only have wood pigeons - and they don't want to go anywhere.
