£3.50 sandwich plus chocolate for me and DH

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/01/2020 16:40

I use bero for scones

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 29/01/2020 17:12

So do I @lifelongfrugaleer.

Taytocrisps · 29/01/2020 17:50

I have an update on the life insurance - my policy is on the way Smile. I guess this has given me a little insight into the difficulties experienced by people with mental health issues. Like it's not bad enough to have a mental health condition in itself!

I took a half-day today to take DD to the GP. She has a septic throat.

Spends today:-

€20.25 in M&S on underwear

€55 for GP appointment

€10.56 for prescription for DD

€5.65 for Vitamin C for DD (recommended by GP)

€2.95 for tissues

€2.70 for groceries

I'm sure I've commented before on the costs associated with the different seasons - cold and flu remedies in winter and sunscreen and bite cream in summer.

Very tired today so I'm going to put my feet up for the evening and have an early night.

Girlie hope you're having a nice time being pampered

em glad your first day back went well. I bet your DH is a lot more appreciative of everything you do after being on his own with two DC for the day. Super shot of DS.

Unescorted I'm so happy to hear about your job.

The 'crafty' thread I was referring to is actually a Christmas thread. It's the 'Countdown to Christmas' thread. I lurk there sometimes, usually between the months of September - December. A poster there buys Christmas embroidery kits and I love watching them take shape. They'll post a picture when they've only a little bit done and then maybe a quarter of it done, and then half of it done etc.

Seacow sounds like you're burning the candle at both ends. Working very late and then (I assume) up early with the DC. I hope things ease a bit for you. There's still a few week to go until you get help in March.

Happier ooh, exciting news re: house! Have they accepted your offer? I hope your Bf feels better soon.

Curls belated Happy Birthday. Good news re: van.

Wolf sorry to hear things are so hectic at work.

Wolfcub · 29/01/2020 18:22

Congratulations Happier 🍾

Congratulations happier! So good to make that decision - everything will fall into place!

Duchess your dinner sounds lovely 😋

Life keep us posted on the upsizing! I love a bit of rightmove porn.

So tired today and have a sore throat/cough just edging in so going to head to bed in a mo (just have to make sure I don't read too long!)

Tried to channel my inner Organised Mum by being my future friend earlier. Made 2x sets of sandwiches for the girls pack ups, knowing we're going out tomorrow night so would be all organised for Friday. Then remembered we don't do packed lunches on Friday and somehow I'd managed to make not 6 but 7 sandwiches. So for the first time ever I've frozen sandwiches 😃! Really hoping it works as it will be a dream on Sunday night knowing it's all done

SnugglySnerd · 29/01/2020 20:03

Congratulations Happier!

Nsd. Sorry for brevity of message, have a lot of marking to do.

Lovemaltesers · 29/01/2020 21:16

ememem84 · 29/01/2020 21:18

ChristmasSeacow · 29/01/2020 23:11

That’s so exciting Happier! I am really glad for you, I know how much you are going to love making the place your OWN home. Think of the nesting!

Happierwithouthim · 29/01/2020 23:23

Itching to get a measuring tape in there so I'll know what furniture I'll be bringing with me & what will have to be sold or h can have

northender · 29/01/2020 23:42

Great news happier. So pleased for you.
We've got several bero books here, it's a bit of a family tradition I think.
£2.40 on carrots & mayo as it was coleslaw on the meal plan and it would've been cabbage & salad cream slaw!

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 30/01/2020 03:05

@maddenlightfoot, it was quite nice but I got the seasoning wrong. It needed chilli in the marinade I think and fresh herbs rather than dried mixed ones. Or perhaps my taste is a bit more for hot things as I would eat fajitas for choice. DP scoffed the lot though.
Will post recipes tomorrow for baking.

ChristmasSeacow · 30/01/2020 07:33

Yesterday was shaping up to be an nsd but at 2am, as I finished working, I bought some snakeskin print boots from Clark’s. £89 and I’m not sorry!

My hideous paper is almost finished - I so wanted to finish it last night but couldn’t quite do it as I hit my limit at 2am. I reckon another 30 mins this morning should do it. It’s not a working day for me but I might be a lazy mum and put the telly on for DD for a bit so I can knock it on the head. Once I’ve sent this paper in I’m really looking forward to playing with my girl and having an EVENING OFF WORK! TELLY! KNITTING!

Lunch with some mum friends today and it’s bring-a-dish. I’m making a sweet potato and goat’s cheese tortilla from bits in the fridge, hoping not to buy anything extra. Go me!

Managed to stick to the diet plan yesterday in spite of frantic work, school governing body meeting (with posh biscuits) and work. I’m pleased with myself for that.

Mrsmadevans · 30/01/2020 07:53

Good morning everyone 😀
I am not planning to spend anything today 👍
I'm off at my mothers getting her up and sorting her house.
Tayto the thread with the Christmas crafts on 😀 I am a very frequent member of it & everyone is very welcome. They are all lovely, just like here and we talk about everything not just Christmas 🤗
Sea enjoy your very well deserved rest with your Dd🤗
Happier congratulations 😀
Fear are you near the sea ? It's beautiful in Swansea l can see why you live there 🤗

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/01/2020 08:05

Sea, your can't do that and not show us. Enjoy your deserved rest.
Milk needed today

Ivegotnothing · 30/01/2020 08:54

sea don’t ever be sorry for boots! Boots and books are my spending weakness (and chocolate, oh and material...) I have a few pairs of Gracosy boots (from amazon), they do half sizes, have fabulous colourful designs and are reasonable enough that you don’t have to worry about wearing them out....I keep cruising for more Grin
I need an nsd as I get paid tomorrow, then I’ll spend a day happily paying bills and transferring money and be back to square one again haha. Jan and Feb are bad months for big birthdays for me.
The Christmas thread looks great, thanks for the heads up x

Lovemaltesers · 30/01/2020 15:31

Quiet here today!

£10 coffee and cake for two
£25 Tesco

Spent most of my day off fretting about work. Urgh.

Lovemaltesers · 30/01/2020 15:35

Just checked our cc balance. It’s remarkably low without all the amazon prime purchases

Lovemaltesers · 30/01/2020 15:35

I still miss prime

ChristmasSeacow · 30/01/2020 16:34

Actually, I do regret the boots because just this morning I got an email saying it’s 30% off boots! How bad would it be to return them and buy another pair at the discount? So annoyed I missed it by about 5 hours!

Work took more like 1.5 hours out of my morning Hmm but DD was playing really nicely so not too bad. We went to the friend’s for lunch. So lovely to see everyone but DD didn’t nap and was then a nightmare on the school run - she flipped over to ‘manic and reckless’ mode. And her crying set DS off screeching... I feel I could do with a gin now!

Counting down till DH gets home... tomato pasta bake with heck chicken sausages , courgettes and peppers for dinner.
