Oh Wolf that sounds horrendous, and I thought I'd had a bad day poo-wise with ds and his never-ending supply of dirty nappies. He has the sorest bottom I've ever seen, bless him. He was crying when I wiped it earlier, with a wet flannel - wipes were too stingy. I think his back molars are cutting through which might explain it. He's started to eat a lot of apples and I've just realised that might be why - they are nice and cold and hard to chew on. He has gone to bed smothered in Metanium. Hopefully that will help, it's magic cream!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 18/01/2020 20:00

Oh love that is just awful!
Happier lovely cut and I really like your jumper too.
Wolf, that sounds like a really stressful afternoon.

CurlsandCurves · 18/01/2020 20:26

@Happierwithouthim your hair is gorgeous!
@Gohackyourself hi! I struggle to keep up with posting, but everyone’s really lovely here, so just do what you feel is right for you.

I just want this month to end so I can get my finances straight again. We had the 2 boiler replacement drama in December and DH did say we might have to use some savings to part pay for our own one. But then there’s been other expenses too. DS1 desperately needed new trainers, car tax, DS1 Explorers subs, and about a million other things that I can’t remember right now. Feeling like I’m in limbo.

DH is a nightmare for not thinking about all this. He wanted to take the boys to the football today, £63. We had already agreed to have a takeaway tonight so to add that on would be best part of £100, crazy! He took DS2 to the park to play football instead, which was free and he loved the one to one time with his dad. I’d say that was a win.

ememem84 · 18/01/2020 20:33

I’ve just watched the masked singer. What is going on?!?! Who are they?!?!

I had to break up a poo the other day with a takeaway chopstick. It was one of Dhs. Ffs.

Bornlazy · 18/01/2020 22:20

Happier your hair is lovely. Love the colour.

Wolf that sounds grim. What is it with boys and toilet roll? Good trick with the bottle.

Love my mum did something similar when someone knocked her door offering to resurface her driveway. It cost her £1000 and it was basically just a skim of concrete that cracked as soon as a car drove on it Angry

BuddhaAtSea · 18/01/2020 22:33

Love the tip about the plunger!!!
£10 spent today :).

LaneBoy · 18/01/2020 22:59

Euwww wolf and em 🤢 do I even want to know why he couldn’t use the chopsticks himself...?
DS went through a long phase of using ridiculous amounts of loo roll but seems to have calmed down a bit now luckily.

Sea I’m really tempted to get a stand at some point too, I’d plan to leave that outside on the decking and take the tray out on warmer days. I’m not sure it’s affordable yet though, I know I can get a tray from B&Q or similar but haven’t looked at the legs yet. Would love to know what kind of stuff you put on there if you have a chance (totally cool if not!)

NSD for me. First day staying home (couldn’t even walk to the front door without a rest halfway FFS) but I’m not letting it ruin my general progress of getting out more, steam room again tomorrow (helps with pain and I’m getting a lift).

We are quite enjoying the masked singer, it’s ridiculous really but nice to watch something as a family all shouting out ideas :o

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 19/01/2020 04:18

Yesterday £32 at Sainsbury’s. Day before £17 at new Lidl. When I’m next paid I shall look over my top up shops and make a plan.
Watched the latest EWFL. I will try the pizzas maybe, they looked nice. I thought it funny that the chap had chocolate for breakfast yet hesitated to buy fruit because he was worried about the sugar in it. I loved the family though.
Quite a few of my pound coins have been disappearing into the vending machine at work for fizzy drinks, so I’m no better. I have posted about this before and it’s still my bugbear. I must keep stocked with inexpensive fizzy water so I have a big bottle to take to see me through the shifts. As ever, it’s just about getting organised. Costco ahoy, next Saturday.
I have been trying to hop down a brand when buying food. So far Sainsbury’s rice crispies I like better, and you can get them in smaller boxes so you don’t get tired of them. Their budget brand medium cheddar nice too. And yogurts. I’ll purchase veg anywhere but I’m a fruit and salad snob and love Marks or Costco. DP loves Marks salads to take to work, he dislikes sandwiches. I’ve been making him salads up at home and adding ham, boiled eggs, left over pasta or new potatoes which he seems to enjoy.

ememem84 · 19/01/2020 07:53

snuggly lane I think what had happened is that dh had stayed up late and had a massive poo in the downstairs loo. Then went to bed. Got up next morning to go to work and left. I found it the next day. 😱 I don’t think he did it deliberately.

I’ve been up since 4. Dd has been coughing In her sleep. I’ve been coughing and feel very congested So I think this is the snot from my sinus thing escaping. Hoorah! Ds woke up at 6. We’re watching “bo bo ba” (aka postman pat)

OP posts:
LaneBoy · 19/01/2020 08:51

Aww I used to love postman pat. Cagletini is currently asking for “Ben holly” or “applejack” (my little pony) :o

Should be another NSD for me

CurlsandCurves · 19/01/2020 10:44

@TheDuchessofDukeStreet I watched EWFL yesterday too, the chocolate for breakfast but oooh, no fruit it’s full of sugar thing cracked me up too! Think I might give those filo sausage parcels a go, they looked nice.

Meal planning today and shopping list writing. DS2 has a football match later so I’m going to make sure I’m prepared for the cold, tights and leggings under my jeans, big fluffy walking socks, lots of layers. It’s always freeeeezing.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 19/01/2020 10:46

🤢 at all the poo talk, my adult brother left a gigantic shit in my toilet before going abroad for 2 months once, talk about shits and leaves!! What's the matter with people?! Quite literally sort your own shit out!!

Love I would def call the police and trading standards, it's theft and absolutely shocking that people do this 🤬 Did she hand over cash? If not the bank might be able to help, might be worth talking to the bank anyway to ask them to alert you to any large sums of money being withdrawn.

We had a nice day ystd, spent £18.50 on various things for dd. Took the dog on a long walk in the afternoon and went wassailing in the evening!! My new wellies arrived and were duly christened, so far so good!!

Today I need to do some cleaning and dd has an eye test at lunchtime. Would like to do some baking as well if time.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 19/01/2020 10:48

Oh and Sainsbury's is definitely not cheaper than Aldi/Lidl!! I would say it's the most expensive tbh, for £40 in Sainsbury's I can buy one bag of shopping whereas I'll get a weeks worth for the same amount in Aldi!!

Mrsmadevans · 19/01/2020 11:06

Morning everyone 😀👋, today it is beautiful here, blue skies , sunny, freezing ,cold frost and frosty breath . My favourite ❤️ weather 🤗 Hoping for a NSD today but l am going to Trago Mills so😂 anything might happen 😄
Totally agree with you @Girliefriendlikespuppies Aldi is the cheapest imho. Have a great day everyone 😀

Amazing day geee today. We’ve just been swimming. Dds first swim. She. Loved. It. Even loved being dunked. I left the top of my swimmers at home (in the rush to get ready) ffs.

ChristmasSeacow · 19/01/2020 13:25

Girlie Which? don’t include Aldi and Lidl in the analysis because they don’t sell their whole range online. So it’s apparently cheapest out of the big supermarkets. Depends what you buy too, obviously!

Just been to a yarn show. I can’t confess the spends, it’s just too painful. Some was Christmas money from my sisters specifically for this purpose. Even so... BlushBlushBlush. And £3.50 for a Diet Pepsi, but I just wanted to sit in the cafe with the friends we met there so sort-of worth it.

DH just asked if we can still afford to replace the kitchen Grin

Home made Chicken pie (previously frozen) for dinner. Lazy and frugal and delicious, yay!

ememem84 · 19/01/2020 13:42

Ooh I could go a chicken pie. £8.50 in cafe at pool for coffees and snacks.

Dh is being a grade a twat at the moment. I’ve listed out all the things that need doing this afternoon (laundry away, more in machine and dried and away, dining table cleared, downstairs floors swept, living room tidied, kitchen cleaned, bathroom cleaned). He’s nagging me to get out of the way and have a nap. I downed tools (dishcloth as was in the middle of washing up) and started to go upstairs. His response “I didn’t say I’d do everything by myself I need help” so I asked him to clean the bathroom (because it’s getting a bit grimy). He’s organising the garage. #helpful. And promises he’ll do the rest later.

I’ve finished the kitchen and am on bed. Because I am so bloody congested it’s not even fun anymore. I’m not sleeping much either because of Dd and her cough and dh and his snoring and nighttime inconsiderateness (listening to podcasts or watching videos in bed without headphones). So that’s not helping.

€4.90 on sandwich and a bar yesterday because I spent 6 hours visiting three houses & didn't get fed anything anywhere. When you don't drink tea/coffee you don't get offered anything Hmm

€60 on night out & taxi for bf's birthday we'd a really lovely night & it was my first night out drinking this year, and probably last for a while as I've so much to do for house move.

He loved his present which was a custom made sign of a tractor with his surname's farm written underneath. He's hard to buy for & there'll be no more presents now until next Christmas from me to him.

So this weekend is my weekend off & treating myself out now for lunch alone on my way home.

GuyFawkesDay · 19/01/2020 18:01
