Lovely pics!

Had DD1’s blood tests back, she is verrrrry anaemic. Really glad they agreed to blood tests when we asked, as they weren’t offering (due to the usual policy of leaving newly menstruating teens for a year to see if it settles). Also thyroid is “borderline” but not concerned about that, as it can fluctuate anyway, so they are testing everything again in three months.

Not particularly frugally minded here, trying not to think about money at all as we are waiting on a massive council screw up to be resolved. Looks like we will be moving onto universal credit soon too.

WreckTangled · 11/10/2019 16:11

I'm going to try and batch cook a bit this weekend to take the pressure off in the week. Will probably just do the mince ready for lasagne and another lot for shepherds pie plus soup.

Wolfcub · 11/10/2019 17:17

£40 lunch out but there are leftovers
£10 gift for ds’s friend
£3.50 card 😮 I knew I hated WHSmith for a reason
£43 hair
£3 Sainsbury’s for giftbag and big bow (ds insisted)
£20 boots new hairbrush, cold pills, spot stuff for ds, lip balm

Wolfcub · 11/10/2019 17:19

Have paid off last month of mobile cost and switched account for me and ds. Should save £20 a month and that’s without including the device cost which I’ve just paid off. Been a complete faff though I can understand why people don’t do it

northender · 11/10/2019 18:02

That's a great saving though wolf so well worth it.
Curvy sounds like you need to catch up with some sleep
Madden I haven't had TC flight money back from Nationwide yet either, hope it's not too much longer.
We have had a frugal week, stuck to meal plans, taken packed lunches etc.
Am going to cinema with my dmum & DD to see the Judy Garland film. Shouldn't be more than £15. We were going to go for a chippy tea beforehand but thought better of it for waistline & budget reasons. DH & D's are away now until Sunday to watch their football team. 2 nights B&B £103. I made sure they are before leaving & DH has a flask of coffee for the journey. They try to do something like this together once a year.
It's been another roller coaster week with D's, but generally I think things are on the up. He had a meeting with Learning Support which went well & is getting loads of support from his teachers. What a difference a diagnosis makes, that spending was definitely worth it.

Girliefriendlikescake · 11/10/2019 18:21

Love that pic curvy you both look like super cool dudes!

Lap glad you insisted they check your dds bloods, bless her. Are they treating the anemia?

Love that outfit em!

Im very glad it's Friday! It's been an okay week but tiring.

Nsd.

LivingInLaputa · 11/10/2019 21:47

Girlie yes they are giving her iron tablets for now. I was amazed they didn’t offer bloods immediately given the duration of bleeding tbh but the doctor DH spoke to knows our family quite well (saw me through Cagletini pregnancy etc) and it appears she trusts my judgment 😂 they have also given her something (I am assuming mefenamic or tranexamic acid) to take during her period IF it’s too heavy to cope with. Poor kid she’s so young. She’s out at a Kpop concert with her big sisters tonight though ❤️

Wreck I reeeally need to do batch cooking again. We are spending far too much on food. I’ll do my usual tomato sausage chorizo stew, bolognese and chilli most likely, and a tomato pasta sauce if I can fit them in the freezer.

Wolf well done for persisting with the phones! I’ve usually bought a cheap android or had my stepdaughter’s old iPhones when she upgrades, and pay giffgaff under a tenner month for a sim. But phone is nearly dead and I think this time I might get a refurb from giffgaff and you pay it off slowly, DH did that very cheaply and I can’t afford to buy one outright at the moment.

WreckTangled · 12/10/2019 06:41

We have a small freezer and lack of Tupperware (despite what dh says Hmm)so that's why I can't do loads but I figure just making the mince will make it so much easier.

Ds woke up so early today not like him and so annoying!

ememem84 · 12/10/2019 08:18

We all slept in our own rooms last night. Baby monitors on. Dd slept through. Not even a peep. No peeps.

Ds slept through.

Dh slept through.

I didn’t. Because I was worried about the kiddos.

Ds had a bit of a funny tummy yesterday afternoon. So was worried he had a bug. He seems fine this morning though. So we’ll just take it easy today.

I am so sore from the gym on Thursday. The DOMS have seriously set in now. But I feel good for going. Used actual weights. Hoorah!!!

Today I’m going riding. Then friends are coming over for a bit. Then we’re going out for dinner. Wooo

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/10/2019 09:43

Hi guys! Happy Saturday!
So glad it's the weekend!
north, I caught up on some sleep, feeling much better today.
Thanks girlie.
em, that is so good that they slept through, understandable that you couldn't, it is always scary the first time, hopefully you will sleep well tonight.
Last nights meal and travel only cost £25, so that was good. We will all miss her though, she is an amazing Senco, and a really lovely person, always has time for everyone, despite her heavy workload.

Spends so far this morning
£5.25 on coffee and a cookie.
Waiting to get my haircut.

ememem84 · 12/10/2019 10:51

@CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces I’m so excited about tonight. Steak. Red wine. Maybe a cocktail. And then home. And bed.

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 12/10/2019 16:34

Sounds lovely @ememem84, enjoy. We're going out tomorrow night, to someplace I've never eaten before, and it has a great reputation so I'm really looking forward to it.

Spends yesterday:
£3 lotto at work
£5 cards
£6 fish for dinner

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/10/2019 17:05

Have a lovely time em and everyone else going out.

£45 Argos on an inflatable bed. £25 Sainsburys, £17 Argos, £42 hair cut.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/10/2019 18:00

£30 on pizza hut. Not my favourite but DD choice and i cba cooking. That's for 7 of us.

OP posts:
northender · 12/10/2019 19:12

£30 for 7 is okay life
Have a lovely evening Em
Just dd & me tonight so it's Strictly then either Dirty Dancing or Muriel's Wedding
The Judy Garland film was good (£21), but what a sad life she had really.
We did a circuits class this morning which was really tough (already paid for in gym subs). Went shopping after that & bought 2 tops & 2 summer dresses (with Tobago in mind) £83 total

Girliefriendlikescake · 12/10/2019 20:51

Spendy day here, spent £64 on Amazon on Christmas presents for dd and have just booked a night a way in illfracombe for half term £43 😬

Can't really afford it but really fancied a night away and it was the cheapest place I could find, we can take the puppy with us which is lovely.

We've had a nice day, went over to mums and took the puppy for a walk. Dd rescued him from an aggressive Alsatian by whisking him up in her arms, I was furious with the Alsatian dogs owners though 😡 Surely aggressive dogs should be muzzled or on lead or both?!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/10/2019 08:09

Aggressive dogs absolutely should be on a lead. Idiot owners.
There were leftovers for DH too so 8 fed. The pizza hut takeout site has a deal bot that i use. It was half price at £30.

Nsd planned today. Today the house and homework. Bit of digging in the garden. DH working away this week and I'm in Sheffield tomorrow.

A break away sounds lovely girlie. You can frugal the hell out of it.

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 13/10/2019 08:12

Girlie irresponsible dog owners really irritate me. A night away sounds fab

Spendy but lovely day yesterday. £27 Tesco, £30 beautician, £5 parking, £.3 coffee £29 birthday bits for ds, £ 20 afternoon tea

Hopefully a no spend day today!

WreckTangled · 13/10/2019 08:13

That sounds like a bargain life. I miss pizza.

Girlie it'll be nice to get away. We're going to London in half term but just for the day.

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 13/10/2019 08:31

Spends yesterday:
£64 Primark, the item I went in for cost £1 Hmm. At least one item will go back though, and the things I bought for the children were mostly needed, it's just the things I bought for myself that weren't.
Just going to pop a wash on now, I seem to have a mountain of washing to get through this weekend, fortunately I am a sad individual who enjoys doing laundry.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/10/2019 08:37

I already have a wash on and 6 loads more to do. Bedding is being changed today after numerous birthday sleepovers

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 13/10/2019 08:39

My nsd has failed already £2 diving comp t-shirt.£8 on the day. DS first competition.
Asda Christmas pj on the list for today.

OP posts:
Bornlazy · 13/10/2019 09:20

Poor puppy Girlie and well done dd for saving him. It is so irresponsible to have a big dog like that off the lead when it is aggressive- imagine it had bitten your dd Shock

I am tired today but need to get moving as having family for dinner. Spends today are £69 Tesco delivery.

Girliefriendlikescake · 13/10/2019 09:23

Thanks lovelies, it was scary with the Alsatian, I actually had a nightmare last night that dd was attacked by a dog ☹️ and yes will def frugal the hell of our night away!! It will be the only thing we do over half term anyway and will mostly involve dog walking which is def a frugal activity.

Horrible weather here so quiet day planned, need to pop to town for a bit as it's my brothers bday Tuesday and I've not got him anything yet. Also want to pop to Boots and Poundland. Budget for dB is £20, hoping I can find something for that!!

Happierwithouthim · 13/10/2019 09:27

Girlie absolutely that dog should have been on a lead.
Life wow 7 washes Shock
Yesterday was a NSD I came to my parents fri night & never got out of my pjs yesterday
Friday €33 petrol station stop, car wash, dinner for me, hot food snack for dd, milkshakes, yogurt & sweets for dc
Thursday €26 diesel on fuel card €1 parking €20 flu vaccine €15 40 pouches of dogfood, actually little bit more expensive per pouch than when it's on offer in Dunnes but it's done now for 6 weeks Smile 75c clubmilk €15.46 Lidl on Cajun chicken slices & strawberries for ds's lunch, pumpkin, 2 jars gherkins €23.30 centra on top up shop can't remember what I bought Shock
Paid au pair twice by mistake this week, had set it up on auto payment & forgot & purchased bus tickets for her thurs eve & paid balance during the night fri ShockAngry
Have set up auto payment again for Friday week

I found a house to buy - it's a 4 bed bungalow with sitting room living room & kitchen. So I've been browsing sofa beds this morning Grin and planning which of my current furniture will fit in where. Df has said he'll pay deposit for me whenever it's needed. Our own house is currently sale agreed & my application for mortgage is gone in with mortgage broker subject to a maintenance agreement being in place Wink

How was everyone's nights out?

Em ds is 6 next month, he came into me a few nights this week, not thurs night though but I woke at 3.15am for the day, expecting him, so sleeplessness on dds first night in own room is completely normal Grin
I love dds dress
Wolf well done on savings, has ds settled down?

Curvy your poor dds Thanks
