Also, I have to have a Professional photo taken tomorrow at work and I am feeling puffy and spotty and frizzy. I’m going to stick a muddy face pack on while I work today. Bet the doorbell rings...

Bornlazy · 14/10/2019 10:42

Sea I know that phenomenon very well especially stuff that’s destined for the charity shop. It takes up space for ages until I eventually do something with it.

Going to order all my M&S pyjamas and slippers for Christmas presents with my 20% off as mines finishes today. Other than that hoping for no spends.

ememem84 · 14/10/2019 11:34

I know that phenomenon well. Charity shop stuff seems to sit in bags in the garage for ages.

I’ve a box in dds room for clothes that don’t fit. Hers mine dhs ds’. Must sort and either eBay or send to charity.

Happierwithouthim · 14/10/2019 12:26

Definitely things get worse before they better when tidying - I find everything out onto the open floor or a made bed depending on the room is the most successful way Grin

Happierwithouthim · 14/10/2019 12:27

€6.55 on a bar of darkmilk, apple and a brie & chicken ciabatta for today's lunch, got up in time to organise dc's lunches but not my own, tossed and turned all night because of rain

WreckTangled · 14/10/2019 16:00

I've been summoned for jury duty. At the most inconvenient time ever.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/10/2019 17:12

Can you defer wreck?

Sainsbury's toy sale 16 October 25 off Tu 22nd according to Christmas thread

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 14/10/2019 17:38

I don't have a very good reason tbh just that it's inconvenient. Basically I have a job interview and IF I get it it'll be the week after I start. My current job pays when you're on jury duty but if the new one doesn't then the reimbursement from the court is only equivalent to minimum wage

Girliefriendlikescake · 14/10/2019 18:41

That is annoying timing wreck I would find being on jury service really interesting though!

Busy day here, lots to do at work. My mum has the puppy today and he was naughty 😬 she left him for about an hour and he managed to climb on her coffee table and eat her knitting as well destroy an embroidery kit she was making. Naughty pup 🐶 tbf I did tell her to leave him in the crate when she went out!!

Spent £3.50 on a sandwich and drink.

Need bread later.

Lovemaltesers · 14/10/2019 19:00

Surely the new job would just prefer you started 3 weeks later wreck? I wouldn’t mention it until you were offered the job though. I’d only mention if they asked about pre-booked holiday as it kind of falls into that category of needing to mention upcoming commitments.

I used to have a job where I used to make notes for the barrister in court. Some cases were interesting; the one about someone who had done some dodgy roof tiling was not quite so!

My DP has this habit of tidying but never quite tidying the odds and ends left at the end. So there is always a pile of stuff left!

I’ve got through Monday without wanting to write my resignation today. That’s progress over the last few weeks. Although we have 9 more working days for teachers to resign to finish at Christmas. I fear there could be a few in the pipeline! Then I might be joining them.

WreckTangled · 14/10/2019 19:05

Maybe love but it could be one day or it could end up being 8 weeks. Who knows. I'll worry about it if I get ordered the job! It's a court that only seems to do big cases so I just hope it's nothing too horrible.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/10/2019 19:57

All packaged up wreck. Pm your address and I will post Saturday. Fingers crossed for the job.

£6.40 but can be reclaimed. £39 milk bill

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/10/2019 20:00

I think second week in a new job world be reasonable grounds to defer. Your new employer should have planned an induction or handover for you. You could argue essential training

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 14/10/2019 20:05

I can't because I have to respond and I can't defer just because I MIGHT get offered a job. I'll work it out when it happens. Also the reimbursement is awful especially as I'll have to put three dc into breakfast and after school club. I'm sure it'll work out.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/10/2019 20:15

Rubbish. What bad timing Wreck.

OP posts:
maddenlightfoot · 14/10/2019 20:49

That does sound inconvenient wreck (but also exciting - I don't know a single person in real life who's actually been called for jury duty!!)

NSD today - woo! Although I was thinking again about Christmas pjs too... might just wait til end of month to see how much ££ is left.

ChristmasSeacow · 14/10/2019 23:19

Three DC, Wreck? Did I miss something?

My DF did jury duty and really enjoyed it - he liked the glimpse into how the whole system worked. He got on an interesting criminal case too - which luckily lasted the exact two weeks. Jammy really. I’d quite enjoy it for the insight too but can’t imagine the havoc it would wreak logistically.

Tidying the tidying is half done but I’m pleased with that much tbh! I’m not v organised for tomorrow though - haven’t figured out clothes for the photo or done my face. I’ll give it a Liz Earle scrub now and hope the photographer is good with photoshop.

Made a mistake with my knitting and had to undo last evening’s work, grrr.

ChristmasSeacow · 14/10/2019 23:22

Oh and spent £35 on bits for my DSiss’ 40th birthday cake - a mildly insulting bespoke Perspex cake topper, fancy sprinkles and some gold leaf. That’s before ingredients! I’m going to keep it very simple though.

WreckTangled · 15/10/2019 06:32

Haha that should have been THE dc. Don't think I've had another Grin I feel calmer about it today, everything stresses me out in the evening and at night. I couldn't sleep for ages.

maddenlightfoot · 15/10/2019 06:46

Glad you feel calmer wreck - nothing beats a good night's sleep for perspective.

I've had a crap night's sleep 😢 - migraine all night. I finally gave in around 5am and got up to have a hot bath (heat is my saviour for migraine) and more painkillers. Just being gentle with myself and having an hour of reading in bed with a cuppa (sitting up rather than lying down also helps).

Annoyingly the Harry Potter pjs I've had my eye on for the dds for Christmas aren't available in oldest dds size. Will keep checking in case they come back in to stock.

ememem84 · 15/10/2019 06:52

Morning y’all

Spends yesterday £10 at dr for flu jab. Arm hurts a bit now.

Meeting a friend for coffee today with her new baby. But first am heading into town after nursery drop to get fitted for bras.

This afternoon I’m then going to order some new ones and clear out my old ones which don’t fit.

I’m pretty sure I’m a 34E. Do George sell bras In that size? I think next do and maybe new look. I’ll probably get one bra from the range I like (Chantelle) but they’re £45 a go - I have a voucher for the shop - so will look at other options too.

northender · 15/10/2019 07:23

Morning. Take it easy if you can madden
Glad you feel brighter today wreck
It was my day off yesterday & while there were other things that needed doing, I had a day mainly of cooking & baking, soup, curry, casserole & flapjack. It was lovely, I feel ready for the week ahead & will crack on with the other stuff tonight.
Our frugal efforts seem to be paying off as the figures look better than they did. No spends yesterday & none needed today. Did a Kettlercise class last night. Circuits tonight. Busy work day today, lunches done.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/10/2019 07:52

Asda are apparently doing 25% off all clothes for the first time ever. 17-21 October

Thanks Christmas thread. Annoyingly I ordered some PJs at the weekend. Never mind it was only £15

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 15/10/2019 07:55

Life have PM'd you. Actually replied to a message about my address from back in May. Apparently you send stuff to me all the time Grin

Oh asda clothes are good for ds, they're awful for dd though don't fit her at all.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/10/2019 08:20

I though I had before wreck but didn't save the message. Tis fine
