I'd be livid as well life 🤬 someone deliberately smashed my mums wing mirror off the other week! wtf is wrong with people?!

Busy day here as back to work, nsd though.

Watched the 2nd Twilight film with dd tonight, we laughed a lot at how ridiculous it is! The twilight saga is a guilty pleasure of mine 🤫

Dd is complaining of pain down her left shin, am thinking growing pains? She hasn't injured it or anything obvious, hoping it's better by the morning as she has a really long day at school tomorrow as is in a after school show.

Girliefriendlikescake · 25/02/2019 22:11

Do it em

I hate to say it but I would probably leave ds to cry for a bit as well, I lost all patience at bedtime with dd.

ememem84 · 25/02/2019 22:19

I’ve told dh to come and get ds and do something with him. Because if he doesn’t I’m off to a hotel/my sisters spare room.

He’s taken him into the spare room. He’s still playing up. He won’t sleep. He’s singing. But I’ve got door shut except for a catface gap. Ear plugs are going in and I’m going to bed. Fuck everything I was meant to do.

Wolfcub · 26/02/2019 05:37

argh Em. Honestly I’d book yourself into a hotel or your parents or something for a day or two. You said you were still poorly, you’re tired, some decent sleep would do you good.

Have been awake for some time, I have an exam today and am somewhat nervous

WreckTangled · 26/02/2019 06:20

Good luck wolf!

I also would have left ds to cry for a bit I'm afraid and I'm not really one to do that. Hope you got some sleep.

Ds has been up loads in the night luckily he was shouting for daddy Wink but has been in our bed since 5:30...

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2019 06:22

Good luck wolf.
I have calmed down some what. Crime report and insurance today. New secondment starts

Wolfcub · 26/02/2019 06:45

Good luck Life.

Life that’s awful about the car. Will you lose a no claims bonus?

Good luck Wolf

It’s lunchtime here and we fly out at 9pm. Apparently the children have really started missing us now and DD is teething really badly and is miserable (she was sent home from nursery yesterday because of an elevated temperature after Calpol) so I think my mum is really missing us too! I can’t wait to get home now. We’re going to take a quick trip to a museum and then have a late lunch before heading to the airport. Paid another £50 to choose our seats so we can defo sit together 🙄

The next few months will need to be very frugal indeed!

Rightwayup · 26/02/2019 07:08

Good luck wolf. I do the same. Good at beginning of month then rubbish at the end and stop posting! Car service today

Cagliostro · 26/02/2019 09:36

Good luck life and wolf

Safe journey home seacow what kind of museum is it?

My TCB amazon voucher code arrived so I spent a little over half, on some home ed supplies (although £10 will be paid back - going to be working through a particular book with the Caglets and two of their friends) and an Organicup. Not sure it’ll arrive in time to try it but at least it’ll be there for next time. Worth a try for £15.

northender · 26/02/2019 09:42

Just been catching up a bit.
Curvy you've got so much support here, stay strong.
wolf good luck with the exam
life that's crap. Is it worth going to an independent body shop for a quote? I'm very cynical now about what it's worth getting done via insurance, bearing in mind increased premiums when you've claimed. Good luck in your secondment
Cag what a blow re the sick pay.
Seacow glad the trip has gone well, love the henna hands.

We got back from Devon on Sunday night. Had a good time, fabulous weather always helps.
Ds got back from the Caribbean yesterday having had a great time. Back to reality, he has an important maths assessment today which is not great timing.
Dh's birthday today. We're going out for brunch & then for a walk. My family are coming round for tea, not sure what I'm doing yet.
Had a quote for roof blinds in the conservatory yesterday which was a bit of a shocker, but needs doing. Will get another company round, but I've a feeling it will turn out to be a fair price. So this year, driveway, garden, boiler & blinds...eek! It's a good job I've increased my hours, but will need to borrow a bit as well.

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 11:54

Ds finally went to sleep at 0045. I resorted to popping him in his cot and shutting the door. He cried and cried. And so did I. 😭😪

He woke up happy as anything at 530. Ffs.

So I’m exhausted today. And still feeling rrrrrubbish.

Today’s spends pay off store card. £220 from buying the magimix

And lunch.

Then after work home. Laundry. Clean kitchen. Bed.

Fingers crossed ds sleeps.

SnugglySnerd · 26/02/2019 12:14

Life that's awful about the car. I'd be livid too!
Em we're having similar issues with the dts. Last night we ended up sitting with one each on us until they were asleep enough to put them in their cots. It's a phase. It will get better!

Nsd today and I just found a bar of Green and Black's I'd forgotten about - yay!

Ggreengrass1 · 26/02/2019 13:01

snuggly that would make me super happy.
emis it worth checking he's not having massive naps at nursery
wreck sorry about the car, because we have to park on the street our car has been dented, keyed and wing mirror broken off. Its crap.
sea hope you're not too worn out when you get back. Glad you've had a good time.
Petrol £38
A bit of shopping to get this pm, for the first time since starting budgeting using cash envelopes in january, we've run out of money this week- I blame half term

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 13:06

green no chance of huge naps at nursery! He’s too busy! Hates missing out.

He was with dparents yesterday and they said he napped for maybe an hour and half.

ChristmasSeacow · 26/02/2019 14:28

It was the Folklore Museum Cag - a massive privately amassed collection of artefacts relating to the culture and art of Kerala. Basically a massive overstuffed colonial house. You don’t see portraits like this one too often Grin

Now at the airport and waiting to board. It’s been brilliant but we’ve spent a fortune and missed our children so much. I’ve concluded that I’d love to have a long weekend away with dh each year but I don’t want to go for a whole week again for the foreseeable future. Which is lucky, as I don’t think DM would want to do this again either Blush!

DM sent me a video of DD ‘reading’ a book and I keep watching it because I am a soppy cow.

See you guys at the other side, when I will be committed to frugality anew.

Cag that’s such a bummer about the sick pay. Hope you guys can manage. Are you entitled to any extra benefits if DH’s earnings drop due to sickness?

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 15:32

😱 oh my sea you absolutely don’t see stuff like that too often!! Haha. Love that you took a pic of it. Dh laughed at me when we were in Pompeii and I bought a calendar “erotic Pompeii” with pics from the brothels. Haha!!

I have literally in the last half hour or so lost my voice. It’s gone all croaky and wierd. Hmm

But have also discovered that an accountant we work with in Malta auditioned for the Maltese version of X factor. Our accountant here googled her (to check if she was still as hot as her LinkedIn picture...) and he sent me the link.

Thatsnotmybaby · 26/02/2019 15:55

Yesterday's spends:
£77 Aldi including a few specials.

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 16:35

And to top things off, I had a reminder today about an appointment for a colposcopy on Friday morning! Fun. Camera up the foof fun. I was sure i didn’t need to attend as am preggo so called to ask. Apparently I do still need to go. Sigh.

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 16:36

The appointments lady said she’d checked with the nurse. Who said I’d have to still go. So we shall see. Last time I had to go when I was preggo they cancelled and rearranged.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2019 17:19

Urgh banging headache. Nsd though.
London Thursday.
Nsd planned wed and LSD Friday

Nsd. We went to the park in a nearby village after school with some friends.

Em they can do it but they won't take a biopsy or anything.

I've got my smear tomorrow. I know the nurse doing it too.

Girliefriendlikescake · 26/02/2019 19:15

That pic is hilarious seacow 🤣 I bet your mum is ready for a glass of wine and an early night! Hope you have a safe journey home.

em I'd have done the same re ds there comes a point where you know they're safe, warm, fed, watered and not in pain and they just need to go the fuck to sleep!!

I'm home alone as dd is doing a show at school, I'm going to watch it tomorrow. Have eaten a large bowl of porridge for dinner and had pop crisps for pudding.

Nsd and payday tomorrow.

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 19:25

And the crying us started again. Ds was fine until we put him in his bed. He is tired. But man. Shut up. His cheeks are red (both face and bum) I wonder if his ears are hurting. And I’m absolutely sure he’s teething. However. I’ve given him ibruprofen and his dummy (baba) which he’s spat out and thrown away too many times despite calling out for it.

He’s hysterical. Calms down if I pick him up but when I put him down it starts again. He just wants to run around. But we can’t let him do that. Because hes tired. Absolutely exhausted. He slept for 2.5 hours at nursery today. Which is fine. Because he was up late and awake early.
