Who else is it who uses ultrasun sun cream? On amazon it's £18 but have found it for £15 on just my look for 100ml (normal size) but they also have the 400ml for £35 which is £10 cheaper than amazon. I'm annoyed I can't really afford it atm but hopefully it'll stay that price as that would do us all summer.

ememem84 · 23/02/2019 15:35

tayto I hadn’t thought initially about the Friday off being a problem but totally seenit from their perspective.

I haven’t heard anything further as need all directors In the office to discuss further. And it’s been a busy week and people have been here and there. Fingers crossed they approve my request !

Spends £30 riding. £16 wellies for ds. £11 coop on bits for curry later.

Wolfcub · 23/02/2019 15:54

£11 round of beers. Now three sheets to wind and waiting for rugby kick off

I do wreck. They are good prices. Are you flying jets 2. They have a 2 for £22 offer on board. It's the £15 size.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/02/2019 17:00

Also wreck keep an eye on QVC.

WreckTangled · 23/02/2019 17:23

No we're not. That's such a good price! The £35 would still be cheaper though so I think I'll get that if it's still that price. We're not going away until August so will need it way before then.

Housework done apart from some washing that needs folding etc. Only did downstairs, dh can do upstairs.

Wolf have fun! That's a good price for beers 🍻

Thatsnotmybaby · 23/02/2019 17:49

Hopefully work will be accommodating @ememem84. Monday is also a good day off to take; I don't work Mondays and it's nice to enjoy the weekend and then have Monday to get organsied for the week ahead.
Returned the two rugs I bought last week but bought two others, one much more expensive so an extra spend of £60. Very pleased with them though, they are staying.
Got my refund from H&M too so I'm back in the black for my clothes budget!

ememem84 · 23/02/2019 18:07

thats I’ve been fairly flexible and also brutally honest with work. And have said 4 days is the only thing which gives everyone what they want. Work get to keep me and I get to work and spend more time with the littlies. We shall see. I did ask my boss whether they wanted me to come back. He said of course. They didn’t want to lose me so will do all they can to accommodate the request. Fingers crossed!!

Boss also said from a psychological perspective Monday is good as if a client calls on a Monday and we say sorry I’m not back until Tuesday it’s one day. Whereas Friday is 3 days. Even though we don’t work weekends. I see what he’s saying. It’s also the difference of me being back “tomorrow” or on “monday”.

Had to give ds an emergency bath earlier. 💩💩

Bornlazy · 23/02/2019 18:37

em some people who work four days like a Wednesday off as it splits the week - in for two off for one in for two off for two and so on. Regardless of which day you get off I think you will really notice the difference.

I have been totally burying my head in the sand about my energy bills and really need to bite the bullet and do something about them. Our house is open plan and I don't think ever feels excessively warm but our bills are astronomical Shock

WreckTangled · 23/02/2019 18:40

We're getting a whole new heating system fitted. There's no mains gas here so we're all electric and they HA are replacing it with an air source heat pump. We will have proper radiators and a thermostat! I'm beyond excited and hoping to get our energy bills down quite a bit.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/02/2019 20:10

Evening all!
Had a great week with my DD1.
Got back from Edinburgh on Thursday, DS2 birthday, he is now 14!
Went out for dinner yesterday, already paid for.
Food shopping £48, was pretty pleased with that, lots of the food we buy was on offer, always good!
Today I had to travel to do another maths level 2 functional skills test as I was just short of the mark last time. I'm keeping everything crossed for a pass.

Hope everyone is doing ok, will keep up from here.

ememem84 · 23/02/2019 20:38

For once this evening I cooked dinner. I haven’t really done this properly for a while. Used a recipe book and everything!

Chicken red pepper and sour cream curry. Delicious.

Also discovered today while in our coop that they have a baby club. And if I sign up for it I get £120 per child under 3 in vouchers. Why hadn’t I known this before?! Have signed Ds up today.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/02/2019 20:42

em,that sounds good, vouchers are always good, especially when they are small!

SnugglySnerd · 24/02/2019 06:24

Wreck dh's job used to involve a lot to do with sustainability and he absolutely raves about air source heat pumps. They are brilliant apparently and should definitely save you some money.

Think we're going to make use of our NT membership and take a picnic for the 3rd time this week. The weather makes free days out so much easier!

WreckTangled · 24/02/2019 06:33

Oh thanks snuggly. Fil is an electrician and has said the same. It's a shame we won't be able to stay here (it's only two bedroom) as we're just getting it nice really.

Spinning this morning then will probably just stay home. Dh will no doubt mow the lawn Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/02/2019 08:15

House jobs today. Change all the beds, hoovering etc.
Lunch for my brother's birthday, £30, DS has a trampoline party later £10.
May bake for work if I CBA.

LonelyOversharer · 24/02/2019 08:19

Wow, what a beautiful morning it is! I hear the tip calling.

Yesterday was very busy, two trips to the tip, shopping, around £100 food, £8 chicken food. Sit down with my parents for a cup of tea (they are very tired after having assorted Grandchildren pretty much all week, my older girls helped out with the boisterous ones), painted the living room wall (I had gone round a wall hanging and the snake vivs), and did about £40 of work last night.

Today I am off into the garden with bin bags. And making a huge wood pile which the neighbours can pick through for fire wood (they have a huge burner) and we shall burn the rest. I just want it cleared so I can see whats what out there.

And it's just about time to start the seeds off. Always an exciting time!

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/02/2019 08:27

It's gorgeous here too. Tip run too, maybe.
May have a shlep to Lidl as the sports wear is in and I like it.

Wolfcub · 24/02/2019 08:38

Morning all. Rotten nights sleep again or rather not-sleep. The weather is nice here too, not quite as bright as yesterday but standing on the side of a pitch won’t the be usual freezing toil!

Gorgeous day here. I’ve been awake since 4. Ds was mumbling and wailing so I brought him into bed with me. He dozed until about 6. Then I shipped him off to dh in the spare room (because I’m sill not feeling great he’s been sleeping there so I can try and sleep). I’ve already been outside. Joined them for breakfast at 630 and sat in the garden in my jammies and hoody and had a tea.

Just Skyped mil. She hasn’t booked her flights yet. Not sure she can afford to now she’s split with her “amazing” boyfriend. (Dh didn’t like him thought he was too controlling). Dh has said that it’s be a shame if she couldn’t come to visit.

He has said he might pay for her flights but that they’d be at a time which suits us if he does. Ie end of September. Not beginning of August. I’m a bit 🙄 but it will be his bonus money. It is his mum. He does want to see her and she does want to need dc2. So if he does he does.

We tend to budget not based on bonuses anyway as they’re not guaranteed. And the rule is they can be spent as we like. If I get one I’m buying myself an Apple Watch. And/or a new phone (although my phone is behaving itself at present) then will chuck any leftovers into my savings for mat leave. So what dh does with his....

Happierwithouthim · 24/02/2019 08:40

Hi everyone I've caught up this morning on a few days but not doing catch up post

Hi happy Grin

Cagliostro · 24/02/2019 09:00

Hey happier :o

Could work out well I guess em - worth the money if it basically controls when she visits? Would be awful to have her with you when DC2 is brand new and you’re recovering etc.

It’s lovely and bright here, chilly though! Do we need to start planting stuff soon? I have no idea what we will be doing other than sorting out the “nature area” with wildflower seeds. We also have a pot of rosemary I was given.

WreckTangled · 24/02/2019 09:22

Cag we're doing sunflowers end of April/beginning of May. That's it Grin
