My sofa is HUGE!! And I love it. I'll post a pic when I have tidied up , but it is big enough for me and all the dc. Dp has an armchair (dwarfed by the sofa) which he is happy with.

Only spend was a maccyd's £24 for food and £4 for mcflurries for pud. Oh, and I got some iridescent acrylic base in Hobbycraft. Why??? But I'm sure I'll use it loads Hmm £23, but £10 was dd1's pocket money, and she owes me a fiver, which she hasn't coughed up yet (my thing was £8).

I have about £90 of easy (but time consuming) work home with me for the weekend, if I cba doing it.

If the weather holds over the weekend I'm going to do a lot of trips to the tip. Be my own skip. Even if I use a tank of fuel (unlikely, thats 400 miles worth and the nearest tip is a 12 mile round trip) it will be £40 vs £275. No brainer. And I have a lot of plastic packing and cardboard care of ikeas over packaging.

Did I mention that I love my sofa?

Cagliostro · 22/02/2019 23:22

OMG love the ride to the moon/Japan type idea!!! SO cool thank you.

Sadly the trampoline thing hasn’t worked out as eBay revoked the listing so we have been refunded. Gah. Still better than losing the money.

Just had an awesome free carvery with friends. Met another mum for the first time who also home eds her autistic son and she is awesome. It is so lovely that we can all just talk education, autism etc.

Doctor gave me more antibiotics.

Unescorted · 23/02/2019 06:04

Lonely so glad you love your sofa

Been awake for hours gah. So tired may also have a nap later.

Final gas and electric bill from old supplier came. I was hoping for a rebate as I was in credit and it was less than one billing period. No such luck I owe them money

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/02/2019 08:36

Does anyone know Bristol well? I'm going for work week after next and no idea where to stay. Will be sun - wed as it's nearly 5 hours in the train.
Think the office is in the centre, near temple meads station. I think, not sure.

moimichme · 23/02/2019 09:13

I don't know Bristol, sorry life.

Glad you have more medicine Cag and hope it helps.

Congrats on your exciting new job Girlie and on your fancy new sofa lonely.

So tired. Please let this sleep regression go back to normal soon, I'm starting to crack up! Sad

£1.50 food at work and £1.90 for the bus home from childminder's yesterday. Nsd planned for today.

Lovemaltesers · 23/02/2019 11:00

life Are you going to the cs hub in Bristol? The one I went to before I left was a really short walk from temple meads

Thatsnotmybaby · 23/02/2019 11:15

Dying to see a pic of the sofa @LonelyOversharer.

Spends yesterday:
£70 supermarket incl. 2 hats for DS and an outfit for DD, both less than half price.
£48 hairdresser, annoyingly I forgot the voucher I had but I go regularly so I will use it next time. And hairdresser gave me tip to take photo of all vouchers in case I lose them which I had never thought to do, but is a great idea as I often have quite a bit in vouchers in my purse and I'm always afraid I will lose them.

Spends today: £8 soft play.

SnugglySnerd · 23/02/2019 11:35

Morning! Another lovely sunny day. Lots of washing out. Park later.

Looking forward to seeing the sofa pic. Ours also needs replacing but we're leaving it until after potty training!

WreckTangled · 23/02/2019 11:42

Back from food shopping wasn't too bad. They started being dicks in Tesco but we'd been out for a while by then.

£62 Aldi
£10 McDonald's (bribery)
£16 Tesco (including two cardigans for dd)
£20 fuel
£8 car wash.

Meal plan:

Lasagne with salad
Bacon tomato pasta
Bbq chicken wraps
Lentil dahl
Quiche with potato salad
Pasta pesto
Pizza

Loving the sunshine 😎

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/02/2019 11:48

Not sure love. I will find out on Tuesday when I start my secondment.
£41.22 hair, £65 Aldi. Still need to do Iceland and Sainsbury's. I really don't need a lot of food bit I think I'm hoarding for April. Sign of growing up in poverty.

WreckTangled · 23/02/2019 11:52

Oh and £3 Iceland warehouse.

WreckTangled · 23/02/2019 11:53

Life I'm stocking up a little bit. We can't afford much but I'm getting a couple of bits a week...

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/02/2019 12:02

I'm not getting much wreck tbh. But I feel better for having it. At least I can feed all of us, not like when I was young and my mam didn't eat to feed me

Wolfcub · 23/02/2019 12:42

£5 ds’s volunteering - paid for my brunch
£16 paying off electric bill

Washing out on the line and I found a packet of meadow seeds so I’ve bunged them in the garden (note technical term which is about the depth of my gardening skill). They will either grow or feed the birds either way they’ve been used and the empty packet is now in the bin along with a load of crisp and sweet bags that the arsehole high school kids keep chucking in my garden.

Most of the bulbs I planted in October have now sprouted and about half of those have flowered. Thank you Girlie because I wouldn’t have done that without your inspiration and for £5 it’s given me a lot of pleasure.

Will spend a few pounds later for a beer with friends.

I really need to get on with some housework but I don't want to! Feeling very lazy. Maybe have a coffee first...

Bornlazy · 23/02/2019 12:57

Hi everyone, haven’t posted for a while, but have now caught up. I am down to my last £10 so will definitely have to move some money back from savings. This is not the end of the world and I know I’m fortunate that I have the luxury of doing this. It has been a very long month and it’s still five days until payday 😬

I have bought a few things extra to stock up for Brexit but not much yet. I don’t really have room to store it ( well I would if I threw half my crap out) so need to think about where it’s going to go.

Need to do some cleaning today as the house is looking a bit shabby right now. Just wish I could feel more motivated to do it 😴

Your holiday looks fab sea I wish it was me!! Hope the wedding goes well.

WreckTangled · 23/02/2019 13:05

Born mine is in a bag in my bedroom cupboard. So far I have:

3 tins of tomatoes
2 tubes tomato purée
Two tins of green lentils
A packet of stuffing
A box of veg oxo
A big bar of chocolate (I will probably eat that later Grin)
A jar of olives
4 packs of noodles

That's it. I'm going to get some frozen peppers, onion and garlic too. Not sure what else. It's all stuff we eat so it won't go to waste.

Girliefriendlikescake · 23/02/2019 13:13

I know Bristol a bit as it's quite close to us Life temple meads is a bit outside the centre we normally bus it in if we go by train but you could walk it easily enough. There are loads of hotels, we're going up for a wend in March and I've booked an air bnb bed which looks good and is very central.

Beautiful weather here, need to get more washing on the line!

Glad I inspired you wolf I've got loads of bulbs out and they make me happy as well, here's a pic of some I planted in a small bit of space under the living room window.

It's raining cats and dogs here. And it was so nice during the week when I was stuck in work Sad.

I'm feeling a bit guilty that I didn't do anything with/for DD for her mid-term break. But I've given myself a stern telling off and reminded myself that I'm paying for for her to do a fab European trip in October (school trip). Anyway, we're doing a tour of Wicklow Gaol tomorrow. That might not sound like much fun for a 14 year old but we're meeting up with some friends and their kids and going for lunch afterwards. If the weather co-operates, we'll go for a walk somewhere in Wicklow. Wicklow is incredibly scenic.

DH got paid early (woo hoo!) so I need to do up my monthly budget. I have a spreadsheet done up with all my direct debits, so I just need to add in any variables e.g. this month I've to pay my bin charges and I think our car tax is also due. DH got the letter so I must ask ask him where he left it.

Happy well done on all the savings. We already have a Happier so yes, probably less confusing if we call you heels going forward.

moi sorry to hear you're so tired Sad. Sleep deprivation is a killer.
Hope DS starts sleeping better.

em did you hear any more re: application for part time work? I would also turn down anyone requesting Fridays off because we're always short staffed on Fridays. But I'd consider another day. I'd rather accommodate an employee who wants time off and hope that they'll give 100% (when they are at work) out of gratitude, than risk having a very resentful employee who does the bare minimum. Or lose that employee altogether.

Cag annoying about gas people not showing up Angry. Everyone in work has been talking about 'Abducted in plain sight' and telling me I have to watch it.

north glad DS is enjoying himself.

Wreck I love the stairs. What an adorable cat!

Wolf hope you're having a better day today.

Seacow very jealous of your holiday Smile. That resort looks amazing. I'd also love to see your new Indian clothes but maybe pm a photo if you think it might be too outing. I love that you had a banana tree growing in your bathroom Grin. And a four poster bed!

Lonely enjoy the comfort and beauty of your new sofa. Don't stroke it too much! Good luck with the claim - £200 is a lot of money to lose.
