Also in other news I had a chat with my boss today re my reduced hours application for next year. He said it’s not a no. But it’s not a yes. They’re concerned about staffing on my day off (a Friday) as this is typically the day when most people want to take a long weekend.

I’ve said I’ll cover any absences on my team when necessary and that if my day off needs to be another day that’s fine.

WreckTangled · 20/02/2019 15:51

I think it's good you've touched on the subject now em. Lots in our team have a Friday off but I know other teams have to spread it out more.

Almost done for work today. £2.20 parking is my only spend.

Pretty sure happy and happier aren't the same person Grin

Wolfcub · 20/02/2019 16:32

£4 parking and £1.60 contribution to a magnum for ds

£2 M&S

£47 boots stockings up on half price shampoo and 3for2 face cream

It’s a needs must wreck nursery will hold a place for “no2” with no deposit until April. After that we put their name down (“baby our surname”) and pay a weeks fees. Non refundable. To secure the place for January 2020.

I’ve made work clear this is the reason why I’m asking so early and t means sorting it out now allows me to come back to work.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/02/2019 19:44

Sorry happyinheels great savings.
Totally missed we have a happy and a happier.

Cagliostro · 20/02/2019 22:59

It’s been a long old day. Never heard from the gas people despite phoning twice 🙄 so a waste of a day in but a couple of friends visited which was nice. Split a cheap takeaway and then nipped out to the local when the others got home to take the baby.

ememem84 · 21/02/2019 06:50

Payday!!!! Wahoooooooo!!!! Have moved money into savings and am left with £500 in my account for the month. I need to start getting some maternity clothes. So a couple of hundred 😱 is allocated for that. Hoping I don’t have to spend that much and can grab some bargains on eBay.

Wolfcub · 21/02/2019 07:02

Good stuff Em. I really believe pay yourself first has made a massive difference to my finances

MOT today so spendy but hopefully no work needed following the service a few weeks ago

Pilates £7

Ds activity £3

Cleaning and waiting for a repair man today, no exciting half term trips planned. Personally I’m hoping for a nap

Is it a frugal win if you torrent a TV show rather than spending £300 on the DVDs as they're so rare?

Ggreengrass1 · 21/02/2019 07:31

Hi everyone, got really behind on the thread. Have a good day.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2019 08:18

We're having a new heating system put in and the guy turned up to do initial measurements and I had just got out the shower! He sat in his car for a bit whilst I quickly got dressed and made the beds BlushGrin

SneakyGremlins · 21/02/2019 08:21

You made the beds? Grin

Wolfcub · 21/02/2019 08:27

£43 Joules wellies for dm’s birthday

WreckTangled · 21/02/2019 08:32

I always make the beds! I would rather be late for work than leave an unmade bed ShockGrin

SneakyGremlins · 21/02/2019 08:34

I haven't made my bed in over a decade!

Cagliostro · 21/02/2019 10:00

What series sneaky

I’m so so glad I have Netflix as so many anime series are on there :o

Aaargh well antibiotics finished, and boob still painful at times, is that normal?! I think I feel better in terms of the flu like symptoms but then I felt really achy again yesterday. It’s hard to tell what is leftover mastitis and what is just generally me and my stupid body Hmm

Sorry enough with the poor me Blush🎻🎻🎻

Pretty certain we will go to Weald and Downland on our holiday wreck thanks for the heads up :) must remember to take my PIP letter as I get in cheaper. Maybe I should photocopy it and just keep it in my bag.

Must exchange my topcashback vouchers today.

northender · 21/02/2019 10:01

Lost track as been frantic here. Ds is in Tobago having a fab time. We are en route to Devon for the weekend with pil, meeting a friend this afternoon who I haven't seen since we were in Cornwall Oct 2017. Will catch up on thread later.
Unfrugal but delish breakfast at Gloucester services this morning 😁

Girliefriendlikescake · 21/02/2019 10:11

Morning all, I remember being told when I was in the brownies that a tidy mind starts with a tidy bed 😂 I make the bed about once a week and am such a slob when it comes to washing bedding 🤭

I've been up and have come back to bed for a bit

Need to pop to town today for a few bits hopefully won't be too spendy though....

ememem84 · 21/02/2019 10:36

I make my bed every day (otherwise where would catface sleep?!) changing beddingnis meant to be done weekly. But I haven’t bothered for the last 2 weeks. Must do it this weekend.

Wolfcub · 21/02/2019 10:36

I’m a make your bed every morning type too I think the brownies had it right although it took me until age 30 to start doing it. You also feel better and less stressed going to bed in a made bed
