Am I the only one who doesn’t have Weather? Envy

Night all.

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/12/2018 00:02

'Night Christmas

LonelyOversharer · 09/12/2018 00:13

Have been on my "works do" was very frugal. Dress and shoes both pre dc era, tights last of an old pack. Didn't buy a drink as didn't want to drink anyway, just had the swashy cocktail that was included. Dp picked me up at 11. Bought him fuel and us a costa on the way home though. Glad I went and it wasn't as bad as I feared.

Missed strictly but will catch up in the morning.

Goodnight all x

SnugglySnerd · 09/12/2018 06:36

It was a bad night as predicted. Ds was up several times until about 2.30 then dd was up at 4.20. Got her back to sleep on my lap and then was too scared to move her so I've been sitting up since then listening to the wind and rain.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/12/2018 07:04

Nothing going on weather wise here.
Hope you managed to snooze snug

£22 last night on a curry and£4 on a mock tail

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/12/2018 07:36

I'm so sorry Snuggly. I'm sure that was not what you wanted at all.
Have you learned to sleep sitting up at all? I used to do that on those kinds of nights.

I just used to put a pillow behind my head, put my head back and nod off, with ds carefully arranged on a pillow on my lap so as to be safe. I know the SIDS people would not approve, but sometimes people just need to sleep.

Take care there today. Flowers

It's properly wintery here, but I think I must try to get out and have some sunshine as I've been in for a week and I'm starting to fossilize.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/12/2018 08:09

Oh dear Snuggly that sounds awful! Have they ever been reliable sleepers (but messed up now by a cold or whatever) or have they never slept reliably through the night? You must be knackered Flowers

Dd had me up at 6.20am. House still isn’t quite back to tidy after yesterday but I am chipping away at putting toys back in the right place while dd plays. I am hoping DH gets up soon as I have to make scone dough and then head round to my friend’s to bake them.

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/12/2018 08:13

Christmas would it make your life easier if you rented one of these cookers for a little while? They sit on top of the worktop and work just like a normal oven.

ememem84 · 09/12/2018 08:27

Ds woke up at midnight at 4 and again at 6.

Dh did the midnight one. I’m still in bed. Dh is downstairs with ds Skyping mil. Ds is showing her the Christmas tree.

Spoke to sil last night in nz. She was meant to have her c section on Friday. They were bumped. Until Saturday. Then send home again until Monday. Poor love.

Dh has brought me a cup of tea. And I can hear him wrestling ds away from catfaces litter box.

snuggly I hope you get some sleep during the day.

Sneaky Result! Shame you had to go through the faff initially.

Sea it is lovely to have a good dinner with friends.

I have so much to do today... I am making up for yesterday's hangover induced inaction.

Unescorted · 09/12/2018 08:30

Team Dooley here...btw

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/12/2018 11:38

Sneaky If you have your banks app it might have a cheque deposit facility. Or you can usually pay in at the post office.

Dhs E-Reward account is coining it in Envy mines 400 short of £27.50 Hmm his has had 700 nectar points already today. I redeemed 1000 3 days ago.

I bought toothbrush heads on amazon but I had a £10 voucher off the media cell app so its free. Next month I’m buying coffee beans for free instead. I wanted to buy a back light kit for the tv but dh has said no.

SnugglySnerd · 09/12/2018 12:07

Thanks everyone. They are both full of cold which is keeping them up. I'm dreading tonight already!

Wolfcub · 09/12/2018 12:08

Brrr home from ds’s first activity of the day. Freezing 🥶 £5.20 on two butties and a cuppa

northender · 09/12/2018 12:36

snuggly hope you sleep better tonight. Sleep deprivation is the pits. Hope the dc recover quicly from their colds.
sneaky great result with the compensation
Wolf I'm glad the Sunday morning football days are long gone for us. Cricket can be cold but nothing like football in December!

Lovely crisp winters day here. Went to Meta Power circuit class this morning. Have done some cleaning and tidying, and some study. Last night I helped dd sort through all her clothes. We got rid of more than we kept & she feels so much better for it. Training her not to hoard!
She is going to a local care home with her drama group this afternoon to sing Christmas songs for the residents. I will do more cleaning, tidying and study, and repeat!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/12/2018 15:40

Nsd.

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/12/2018 15:51

Oooo! Me too!

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/12/2018 15:53

Have any of you watched Foil, Arms and Hog on Youtube? They are a new comedy group and I really really like them.

I love this mother character:

I think the guy who plays here should be made an honorary MNer.

LonelyOversharer · 09/12/2018 17:15

Just a £4 spend today. But, found the £40 spend anywhere voucher lost for 11 months behind a plant £30 amazon and £25 book token gift cards. And the codes for b&q and amazon cards that may or may not have been used. Must check. So that was a bonus.

Have been to the tip (twice) with 3 bin bags from the living room yes it's got that bad and boxes of wood/plastic/dead shredder etc. Plus burned a lot of papers, after digging out the log burner. I am nearly at the point of the Christmas tree being able to go up. Nearly.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/12/2018 17:31

I've most definitely not had a nsd! Went Christmas shopping, spent £70 in primark 😮 got loads for that, various gifts and clothes for dd. I haven't bought her any clothes for ages so were needed.

£10 subway for lunch.
£12 super drug on gifts plus an advent calender they were selling off cheap, it's a make up one with a fair bit in it.
£12 ear rings for my god mother.

£15 waterstones gift for my dad.

My Christmas shopping is now pretty much done though, the Christmas tree is now up as well 😊

AutumnLeaves12 · 09/12/2018 17:38

Lonely that's hilarious. I like a lived-in living room.

I think the element is going in our oven and I've already had the fan replaced twice in two years at £200 a time. It was £600 new.

Do you think I should just buy a new oven?

Or replace the element?

Or give up entirely on modern domestic conveniences and light a fire in the kitchen?

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/12/2018 17:53

I think you should complain autumn. Doesn't sound like it's fit for purpose or lasting a reasonable amount of time. Sale of goods act 1975

Quiteisnotinthedanceoff · 09/12/2018 17:54

Lovely day .
Walked into town by the river ,full of the joys on the way there but slightly regretted it on the way back 😂
9 miles in total.
DD and BF joined me and we had lunch in our fav place £43
Really relaxed and didnt feel rushed so enjoyed the view.
My legs are aching now but it was so nice and sunny.
Quiet in town, quieter than a normal Sunday.
£50 Topshop voucher for DS GF .
I had used the very last drop of my perfume and John Lewis were price matching so £44 instead of £49

So looking forward to curry and Strictly later but hot bath needed first .

SnugglySnerd · 09/12/2018 19:04

Right time to start planning lessons for thw week. I'd love an evening to myself!

NSD.

Lovemaltesers · 09/12/2018 19:33

£18 primark
£15 McDonald's
£12 the works

We've had a lovely trip out to see the Christmas lights... McDonald's... but probably cheaper than buying from the Christmas food market

My mum is planning on continuing to drive 🤦‍♀️
